Starting your own business isn’t supposed to be easy, if it was, everyone would do it. Our goal as a business was to support other small local businesses in the city. Unfortunately in one case, our biggest case, that went sour.
We put our trust in someone we knew and a substantial amount of money, to be left with a job that is 30% done and about 4 months delayed…
This has been mentally, physically, and financially exhausting for everyone involved. It has not been an easy road and this message is very hard to write as it makes everything feel much more real and awful. In the end, we don’t want this to happen to anyone else, so this is why we are bringing light to the story.
Our contractors Fresh Projects Contracting/ Fresh Projects Calgary have pretty well taken 100% of the money and not completed the work. They have outstanding balances with subcontractors, engineers, and more, and have left an overflowing stinky/eye sore disposal bin outside our building for over 2 months due to lack of payment for removal.
It sounds like they are still trying to get work across the city and may be using new money to cover other outstanding balances. We are suggesting anyone and everyone to stay away from this company. After further investigating, we have found other people in the same situation, one lady has been left with an unfinished backyard from over a year ago that has been left hazardous and in shockingly poor shape. We have also been made aware of various other projects where the customer was left extremely unsatisfied. In most of these cases, they have fallen off the face of the earth and are just ignoring any messages or calls. I sometimes would go a week without a response.
