The porch was a disaster and needed to be either repaired or rebuilt. After speaking with Carl and having him explain the pros and cons of my two choices, I decided to go with the rebuild. The rebuild took some time to complete, but each stage was explained in detail. Living with the construction mess outside the front door wasn't always pleasant, but every day the area was swept clean with tools, etc. put away. Even in the heatwave and baking sun, Carl and his crew sweated it out and put in a solid day of work. Carl is honest, hardworking and dedicated. He's a skilled mason and it shows in the quality of his work. Thank you Carl for my beautiful new porch! And a special shoutout to Larry, Ben and David for their hard work as well and for not passing out in the extreme heat!

Carl and his team are very professional - easy to work with and communicative about the job.
We had some challenges with the neighbour from our adjoining house which was dealt with by Carl in a professional and diplomatic manner. We were very impressed. As for the actual repair, it was done quickly and looks very good. No complaints.

Carl and his crew did and excellent job removing our unused chimney and pointing and replacing some bricks on the side of our house. They showed up when promised and completed the work swiftly and with care. Cleanup was excellent as well. Though not the most affordable quote I got for this job, I went with Carl because he was the only one to offer to cap the roof hole himself rather than getting a roofer in afterwards. It’s a simple patch which he did thoroughly with water shield and shingles I provided. He also threw in a couple small fixes elsewhere for no charge.

The brick on the front of our house and the house next door (we are in a semi-detached) had been damaged by water and time. We received four quotes for the job of replacing damaged bricks, brick cleaning, grinding out the old mortar, and replacing it. Carl's was not the cheapest quote, but it was very thorough and addressed the root cause of the issue (water, bu re-routing some downspouts) in addition to the brick repairs and aesthetic concerns. Carl and his team managed to get the work done earlier than expected during a brief thaw. The work was tidy and delivered as promised, and Carl kept us informed of the progress throughout. We are pleased with the work and would not hesitate to recommend or work with Carl and Mace Masonry again.

We engaged Carl from several masons contacted for quotes because of his personable manner and his willingness to discuss in detail the scope of work, including fixing the cause of the water damage. After initially having to postpone work due to a tight end-of-season schedule, Carl re-contacted us when time allowed the work to be done before the season ended. The work was done quickly and all aspects of the work were done well and within the quoted price, including cleanup and a couple of extras. I would recommend Carl and team to anyone requiring similar work.
