Patrick has just been unofficially adopted as a new big brother. We have a stackable washer/dryer on the second floor. That means the hose goes into the ceiling and through the roof. Right? Wrong. The dryer hose fell out of the ceiling. After a few false starts, we hit a company who highly recommended Dryer Vent Wizards. So we called and thoroughly read through the website. I wanted someone who would do more than stick the hose back into the ceiling. Patrick didn't like the current hose set up behind the dryer and then checked the attic. NO VENTING SET UP WHATSOEVER IN THE ATTIC! 16 years of dryer fluff venting directly into the attic. Sigh. At least there was no mold. The roof vent was present. But no pipes set up between the dryer hose and the roof vent. Really? So Patrick did a complete re-vent of the system: new hose and pipe off the dryer, proper venting in the attic. Fortunately the roof vent was okay. Now I can rest, knowing the dryer has finally been properly vented. Thanks, Patrick!

I am glad you called and we had an opportunity to set your dryer venting up proper. Dryer venting can sometimes be, the unseen root problem of a dryer's malfunction. If not professionally inspected the hazard can exist for years. Cleanings lines is sometimes just part of the work. After purchasing a new dryer, the manufacturer recommended solid vent pipes. Called The Dryer Vent Wizard, made an appointment, and the dryer vent was replaced. Very courteous service. Would recommend them for your project.

The dryer was steaming things vs. drying them. A rainy day when Pat came, the assumption after an internal inspection was that the venting likely needed cleaning, as did the dryer itself. That's honestly almost always the issue with the symptoms my dryer was having. When the problem wasn't remedied, Pat returned promptly, went on the roof for a more thorough inspection and determined the venting didn't exhaust to the outdoors properly. Pat was able to install a new exhaust in the roof and add several feet of new venting to remedy the problem that same day. Fast, courteous, efficient and fair. I will recommend and reuse his services as called for.

A brief note to readers that might be reviewing this article. The "root cause" resulting in Kim's venting problem were two fold; one, the venting in the attic was foil venting that had badly clogged up over the years and slumped in between the joists and two, the soffit vent cap wasn't installed sufficiently to expel the moist, hot air from the dryer. I rerouted the venting with rigid piping, insulated it because it was in a cold space and installed a highly efficient roof top vent. In fact the new run reduced the entire length by over 7 feet.

Patrick came to replace plastic coil dryer vent with rigid metal venting. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and involved me in the decision-making progress.

I had initially thought that I needed to add a venting hole to the exterior of the house that was closer to the dryer, but Patrick was able to come up with a solution that allowed him to safely re-use the existing venting hole.

The work was done the same day I had the consultation, and was completed professionally and quickly. Patrick ensure that the work site was cleaned up after he finished and walked me through the work and answered all questions I had.

Changing out Dryer Venting is necessary in cases were the existing venting is made of white plastic. It is highly recommended by myself and local Fire Marshals to remove it. Plastic venting is a fire hazard.

Installation of New Dryer Vent

I was very pleased with the installation of my new dryer vent. I had been experiencing problems with my old dryer not drying clothes properly and since I was having a new washer and dryer delivered I thought what better time to replace the existing dryer vent. Patrick explained everything that was going to be done and completed it all the same day he came out to do the inspection. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking to clean, repair or install a new dryer vent.

We recently moved into a woodland area, and along with the blessing of natural beauty that surrounds our home, we also inherited some lacklustre dryer-related issues I could 'vent' about. I appreciated how Patrick pointed out areas that were unsafe and not up to code (piping and vent cover) and then explained replacement options that would best suit our needs (eg. critter-resistent vent cover). Patrick was friendly, professional, and respectful, and I felt confident leaving the job in his capable hands.
