We had a sanitary back up and then noticed clean water on the floor in the furnace room. I thought the leak was from the hot water tank. When I called Direct Energy, they were professional, but couldn't confirm the leak was coming from the tank. When the young man arrived he stated because there was a sanitary back-up, regardless of where the leak was from, the tank would have to be swapped out for a new one, as it had been contaminated. The next day, 2 young men arrived 5 minutes before their 4 hour window and changed the tank with ease. Thank you Direct Energy! Also, the swap is supposedly covered by insurance, which makes this even better!
