Small Paving job

Do not hire this company. No customer service. Tells you one thing and does something else. If left unsupervised will take major short cuts. Goes back on their word. Awful experience.

Excellent service!

I am writing this review for Prestige Paving as they are one of the most professional and personable companies that I have interacted with. I recently had my driveway done and am feeling positive about making the decision to hire Prestige Paving for this service. They were quite thorough in explaining the materials and process of the work and took the time to answer all my questions and concerns thoughtfully. It is quite clear that they use top notch materials for the job and that they completed the work with care for the quality of the final product. While completing my driveway, Prestige Paving was punctual and efficient!
I would highly recommend Prestige Paving to my family and friends and to any homeowner who is looking for this service because they possess skilled and diligent workers!

Driveway pPaving

I must say that the quality of service we got from Prestige Paving goes beyond expectations!

I've seen many driveways done on my street by other paving companies - and they all cracked within a year.

Prestige Paving did a perfect job at our house - 3 years and still in perfect conditions. Thank you!

Prestige Paving - Lives up to the name

Sal and the Prestige Team are simply amazing. I was approached by several companies to have my driveway done as it was in terrible shape. While many companies quoted me low rates, Sal was not afraid to give me a straight and honest answer when defending his pricing. The general cost of living and products has increased over the years so I found it hard to believe the competition when they said they could provide me with the same amount of asphalt as Prestige Paving at a lower rate.

Thankfully Sal was able to answer my questions on this and provide me with insider insight to make an educated decision and not a cheap decision; and believe me as a single mother I need to watch every penny.

I'm so glad I went with Prestige Paving. A fellow neighbor decided to go with the other company and this year you can already see the cracks.

The saying is true, you get what you pay for. I'm all for saving money but in some cases it's worth it to spend a little extra to have the job done right.

I highly recommend Prestige Paving!

Driveway Repaving

My neighbour was referred to Sam from Prestige Paving and when Sam came to our house he seemed nice enough for us to go ahead with the company and get our old shared driveway repaved.

Sam was friendly and attentive at first – after demolishing the old asphalt he came regularly to check whether the new aggregate had settled. We discussed the fact that we had built a new garage the previous year, and it became obvious that the garage would ideally have been built a few inches higher to make it easier to prevent water ingress and to allow smooth grading for drainage back down to the street. However, drainage was not actually a problem with the old mutual driveway because it was level with a steeper edge up to the neighbour’s property which was always higher than ours, and this always allowed the water to drain down the driveway instead of into our property. Sam said that they would do their best.

The problems really started on the day they came to lay the asphalt. Despite many conversations with Sam on the grading, they smoothed out the grade between our neighbour’s property and actually raised it slightly higher than before. This smoother slope now diverts all the water from our neighbour’s property and the new driveway to pool inside our property. Sam kept blaming the previous contractor who built our garage, even though he knew from the beginning what we had and the conditions of the grading in our property and we did not ever have this problem with the old driveway. As a quick workaround one of the crew had the idea of solving the problem with the water gathering inside our property by creating a 30ft “speed bump” out of asphalt to divert the water down the driveway. It didn’t look good but seemed the best workaround as they refused to redo the driveway properly with the previous grading. However the bump is constantly crumbling now so not only is all the water diverted inside our property but now we have pieces of asphalt too that requires constant cleaning after every rainfall.

The crew also drove the heavy roller equipment inside our property and damaged our brand new interlock that had only just been installed. The stones are all chipped now - we had an assessment by the company that installed the interlock and the damage will cost us hundreds of dollars to get fixed. They were amazed that Prestige had not put down plywood to protect what they knew was brand new interlock. Sam did not respond when we sent photos of the damage but when we chased him up by phone, his response was “We will not be addressing that” but that he still expected the $200 we held back for the corrections.

Sam also promised to return and finish the job itself by the end of October when they were next working in the area (not only fix the speed bump but complete the original work as there were some gaps left around the edges of the asphalt). We’re now in late December and he has never returned, called or said anything to us as customers. He simply vanished! We know they have done several other driveways in the area but have not been back to fix it. Thankfully we had retained $200 until he came back to complete it, but looking at the damage they did and the work that is still missing to complete this is nothing compared to the headaches we are having and the cost we now have to fix our brand new interlock that Prestige Paving damaged.

So if you are looking to repave your driveway, pay the few extra dollars and get a true professional company that will guarantee the quality of work and complete the work itself without headaches. I was very worried going forward with a company that had little to no reviews and should have listened to my instincts. Sometimes we save a few dollars going with a cheaper quote but that will only cost you more in the future. Prestige Paving may well complete the work for you but really don’t expect them to call back or finish the work after you paid. And if they damage your property, like they did with ours, they will never fix it again! I never heard from Sam at Prestige again and really don’t expect to so if you want a company that will guarantee the work, they are not the ones for you!

Driveway Paving

Sal and his crew are very professional and hard working. When they say they are going to be onsite, they are there and on time. They don't spread a thin layer of asphalt like most companies! I would defintely use them again and I highly recommend this company!

Concrete Walkway

I discovered Prestige Paving as they were giving an estimate to my neighbour. Found out that he doesn't do concrete...he advertises that he does, but all he does is the paving while a subcontractor does the work. Concrete was done ok, but end result was a 10cmx10cmx10cm triangular hole in the adjacent driveway corner where they cut the asphalt to make a straight line for the concrete walkway. Concrete guy said that the hole is there because there was no asphalt in that area to begin with but he will ask the asphalt guy (Sal) to fill in the hole since he will be back in the area paving another property. I now realize that the concrete guy was right, but what was once an open space where the driveway ended becomes a hole when you fill the open space with a straight line of concrete. I personally texted Sal and he said, "sure, no problem." Then sent 4 subsequent messages in a 2 month time frame and he stopped responding and never came back. As an officer, I feel misled and I will pursue this matter further.

Company Response

I would like to state that this customer has no contract with Prestige Paving. He approached me while we were working in the sub-division and asked if I could help him out with a concrete slab. I gave him the contact and he dealt with the concrete contractor directly. Prestige Paving has no agreement with the homeowner. Therefore, all customers of Prestige Paving will be looked after first and people looking for free patch jobs will have to wait. A 10cm square hole will not be top of our to do list as our paying customers with written agreements will get the Prestige treatment first. An unhappy customer is usually a customer. Home depot sells cold patch asphalt for 20 bucks a bag. You admited that the hole was already there, so either call the company who originally paved your driveway or take a trip down to the home depot. I don't appreciate you giving us a bad review as you are not a customer! Keep smiling and move on.
