Basement Underpinning

From the moment Pat showed up at our house to quote, we had a good feeling about him. He didn't pull up in a fancy car and a flashy suit like so many other "salesmen" who had come to bid. He seemed like an regular guy, who knew his stuff and was an honest family business owner. When asked about unexpected things such as big rocks and water, his response (unlike the others) was NOT "That might cost more." what he said was "We'll take care of it." And they did. Tony, Pasquale, John and Corny were polite, respectful and very hard workers. During one of the wettest springs on record, they trudged and shoveled mud out of our basement. They waterproofed, laid weeping tile & drains and poured the concrete. There were no extra costs, and if there was ever an issue, they were quick to address it. Their price was extremely competitive and I would recommend them and use them again in a heart beat.

Replace basement slab and install bathroom rough in

Tricolour provided the best quote for the work and were able to start the soonest. There crew was prompt and hard working. They happily accommodated several changes after the work began. The whole job including digging out the old floor, roughing in a new bathroom, installing the crushed stone and pouring a 4" slab was done in five days. My house is old and they know how to work on old houses.

Basement underpinning

We hired Pat and his crew from Tricolour Concrete to dig out our East end semi basement. Pat referred a great engineer (YCL) who provided the drawings and all the necessary permits. Pat and his crew showed up before 7am so that they could have the jack hammers going at 7am. The project took about 4 weeks but it seemed to go by so quickly. There was hardly any down time during this project. The guys worked their butts off shoveling dirt out of our basement window and the into the bin. As each section was nearing completion, they would call for an inspection and the engineer and or city inspector would show up and shortly there after the cement truck would arrive and they would hustle up to get the cement in place. Once the underpinning was done they installed new drains, weeping tile, waterproofing membrane and dug the pit for the sump pump and gave us an 8 foot ceiling height. The crew was always friendly and courteous and cleaned up after every day. We are so pleased with our new basement and would highly recommend Tricolour for their expertise, efficiency and professionalism. E.A

lowering basement by benching

I'm so pleased we went with Tricolour concrete for our basement project. We live in a Victorian row house and many companies didn't even want to come look at the project. Pat and Tony are from the neighbourhood and have worked on many houses in the area, so they weren't afraid of working in the close quarters of downtown Toronto.

The whole crew were fantastic to deal with, friendly and hard working. They were ready with shovels in the ground at 7am each morning and worked straight through.

They went above and beyond and left the property in better condition than when they started (bits of parging and cleanup of our existing concrete). I highly recommend Tricolour for anyone that wants to work with a friendly hardworking crew that exceeds your expectations. Thanks guys!

Can't say enough good things!

Tony & Pat underpinned the basement of our 125 year old victorian. We went from a depth of under 6 feet to a finished height of 7 foot 6, replaced the main structural beam in the house, added a very large walk out & 3 new windows.
I can't say enough about Tricolour's professionalism & trustworthiness. They stuck to their quote in the face of plenty of challenges related to the age & condition of the house. They were patient with our requests & explained their process clearly. They work incredibly hard & fast. On top of that, they (along with John & Corny their workers) were fun & friendly throughout the process.

We've already recommended them to friends, curious neighbours & anyone we talk to. Even our other trades (plumber, floor polisher, etc.) are hugely impressed by their work & want to work with them in the future.
By its very nature underpinning is a messy & expensive job, but if you are certain you want to do it, then Pat & Tony are the guys for you!

Basement underpinning

We had our basement underpinning done by TriColour Concrete this summer and we were very pleased with the result.

Pat and Tony of TriColour were referred to us by our next door (attached semi) neighbours who had hired TriColour for their underpinning job a few years back. We had invited a few companies in for quotes but it was an easy decision to go with TriColour. Pat provided us with a clear (and exact) quote, and patiently addressed all my questions and concerns both before and during the process. Not only was their quote competitive, but we had the peace of mind knowing we were going with an experienced team who had consistently received 10/10 ratings from their clients over the years.

The team clearly knew their job and worked well together. They were fast and efficient, always cleaned up the work area at the end of the day, and were on target with the quote. I had a few issues going on which made their job a bit more challenging, but they were very accommodating and helpful, which was much appreciated. I am very pleased we chose TriColour for our underpinning work, and plan to have them back for another project next year.

Basement Underpinning and Waterproofing

Tricolour Concrete underpinned my basement, replaced the drains, installed a back-flow valve, installed waterproofing membrane, weeping tile and a sump well, and installed new window wells.
Throughout the project they were courteous and accommodating.
They worked with me to make the best plan possible for the drains. Their experience provided the best approach and advice at each stage of the project.
The team cleaned up after the job, and Tricolour finished on quote and on time (start to finish in three weeks).
Lastly, on the day of the final pour while waiting for the concrete to cure, one of the crew members took my dog for a walk. You can't beat that level of service.
Top notch, start to finish. I would gladly recommend Tricolour Concrete.

Basement Bench Footing and Foundation Work

Tri-Colour lowered our basement with a bench footing and replaced the foundation to an existing addition of our home that was heaving from frost. Their price was competitive, we were really happy with the quality of their work and impressed how fast they were, finishing ahead of schedule. They were easy to deal with, work incredibly hard and cleaned up very well after every day. After they finished the job they did a very thorough clean-up of all their access points to the job. I will definitely use them in the future and recommend them to friends and family. Great guys and Tony rocks a bi*ch'n pony tail.
