I researched several deck companies to have a large two tier deck replaced. I use Homestars a lot and found Ryan from Golden Valley Decks. He lived up to his great reviews. He was prompt at coming out to give me a quote, did the job on time and cleaned up afterwards. Ryan was a pleasure to deal with and when I asked about having certain parts of the deck replaced, he told me they were solid and didn’t need to be done. He’s honest and knowledgeable and I am very happy I chose him for the job.

Ryan and his team did a great job! From the very first time we met with ryan, he was professional. We met with a few other companies but they all had to go back and prepare a quote based on what was discussed. We were very impressed that ryan provided us with a quote on the spot. He provided a great design and was also very accommodating when we wanted to make some adjustments to it.

The work was done in about a week and half (would have been shorter without the rain) and we were very impressed with the quality of the end product! His team delivered as expected and on budget! We would definitely recommend ryan and his team for any deck job!

We hired golden valley decks 2 years ago, and this year we hired him again. We added a pergola and privacy screen on the higher level deck. Also, added bench and flower boxes. Ryan provided us a 3D design which helps us to visualize the project before we start it. The final project turned out exactly what we wanted. Workmanship is as good as before! We will definitely hire them again in the future if we have more work to be done!

Promises made were all delivered. Very neat and clean. They even swept and power washed the deck before leaving. They even worked in horrible wet weather on the last day just to finish up the last day of work. Very organized and professional.

Ryan and the crew built our deck 3 years ago. They also built a wooden box surrounding the unsightly vent pipes. However, when the weather was extremely cold, there was some issue with air vents. I emailed Ryan about the situation. He responded timely even though he was overseas. This morning I emailed him again due to the anticipated cold weather coming next week. He called me back quickly and came this afternoon to fix the problem. He made some adjustments to the wooden box. I believe it will resolve the issue.

We researched a number of companies and a mandatory requirement is they must pass a City Building Permit Inspection. The other Contractors withdrew their interest, but we knew this will eliminate shoddy workmanship if they're unwilling to guarantee with the City.

Ryan not only completed the Deck on time and within Budget, he exceeded the city Building Code standards. So not only do we highly recommend using Ryan again and the support of the City Inspector's unbiased opinion; we undeniably made the right choice.

Ryan gave me some great design ideas and came in with a very competitive quote.

I used the Homestars option of finding a contractor to build our deck at our home. Ryan's company was one of the companies and he was able to come to my home to give me suggestions and discuss our deck plans. we decided to got for a pressure treated deck which is 23X16, railings with metal pickets and a staircase down to the lawn.

Ryan and his guys are VERY quick. They came in 1 day to put in the posts. About a week after they came back and finished the entire deck. WOW that's all that I can say. Ryan and his crew did a great job and quick... and the deck is solid.

We posted our project request on homestars and in a matter of hours, Ryan responded and advised what he and his team could build for us within the budget we specified.
We wanted a roughly 10 x 20 deck with railing and small staircase. Ryan offered up some great recommendations on the project and at the same time was very accommodating with respect to the specific elements that we wanted included.
He and the team came in a Monday to pour the concrete for the support posts and on the Wednesday they built the entire deck (in one day!)
My wife and kids and I were very happy with the finished product. It’s exactly what we wanted and, in fact even exceeded our expectations!
