Best advice; don't bother.

Tarion is a builders warranty. It's mandatory to pay for it but you will be sorry you ever got involved with them.
Their mission is to give Ontario home buyers consumer protection and confidence that their new homes are properly built. That is so far from the truth. They only act in support of the builder.
You will be much better off to fix any defects on your own or hire a lawyer if it's a major issue and the builder won't help you.

Tarion isn't worth the time and trouble

Our house vendor (Dalron) in 2017, bragged about getting a 7-year Tarion warranty. Our paging is falling off our house in large chunks. The builder and Tarion state that parging is a "seasonal" item and is only covered for 1 year from purchase. The Tarion warranty is useless. There is little or no protection. It's lures buyers into a false sense of protection. It's snake oil.

No Satisfaction

I paid to have a Tarion conciliate my claims with the builder. They ask for a 300 dollar fee be paid upfront. It's refundable if there are items on your list that they claim are warranted. If you disagree with their agreement, they direct you to submit an appeal to the License Appeal Tribunal (LAT). The appeal requires documents filed with different departments. The time frame is 30 days. There is also a fee for submission. In my case, I would have also had to pay legal fees as I had no idea of how to file the forms.

I found the Tarion "conciliator" unwilling to discuss her conclusions . She just referred me immediately to submitting my concerns to the tribunal. I reached out to her coordinator and received the same feedback.

After being stonewalled by the builder, I had great hopes that Tarion would come to the rescue. Tarion didn't help me at all. It was just a waste of time and money. If you are having problems getting your builder to fix poor workmanship and customer service problems, you're better off speaking to your lawyer. Overall, it would be cheaper and more productive.

Tarion is just something put in by the builders to make you think you're being treated fairly when in fact they're not there to help at all.

We don't care about the buyers -- Is this the motto of Tarion?

Tarion does not seem to care for consumers. It's high time for theOntario Government to take some rectification steps to protect consumer interests. Tarion corporation does not care even to respond to phone calls. Always getting a live person is a problem. Waiting time is horrible. Even if you prefer to wait, you will get your calls transferred automatically to their voicemail system.

New Home Owner Warranty

The Warranty isn't worth the paper it's written on. The "Warranty" does very little to protect the interests of the consumer, but serves to protect the interests of the builder. Remington Homes have avoided fixing items on the PDI, as a result of Tarion's rulings. New damages created by Remington Homes in carrying out repairs are also not covered. Interestingly, the CPG, which is meant to protect the consumer, is used by the builders to avoid their obligations to the consumers, and results in sub standard builds. The Board of Tarion is also made up of the builders.

Sink Leakage

Terrible customer service. Had a sink leakage and Tarion said that they would not cover he damages that was done to my sink cabinet. The amount of money paid for this condo building is ridiculous for the treatment that we have received especially with claridge employees as well. Hard o get a hold of people, but when they have an issue with you, you'll hear from them quickly.

Tarion: Face validity at its best

Tarion not only simply shirks its mandate to protect homeowners but , under current practices, condones builder dishonesty , professionalism and totally negates the concept of home building quality assurance which it so deceitfully utilizes as promotion. A 6 year ordeal in trying to get OBC violations recognized, repaired and paid for has resulted in an equivalent amount of time in research, phone calls, emails, expert reports , court sessions trying to prove the obvious. Tarion is a well oiled machine with years of bad history that must be washed with a totally reformed structure and new management !!

Home warranty

This warranty isn't worth the paper it's written on!
My house has serious code infractions and Tarion is put in place only to protect the builder and drain the homeowner of every last penny fighting them with Lawyers and engineer fee's.

Warranty Provider

While Tarion may have provided a consumer protection service in the past, it no longer does so. Rather, it acts like a B-Grade insurance company that collects premiums from home purchasers and then uses the proceeds to deny any claim by using whatever and hard-ball legal tactics it can. Tarion is the monopoly warranty service provider in Ontario and the fees are mandatory. It's kind of like a legal protection racket, except that there is no protection.
