The employee from Electric Eel arrived before I got home but my wife was there to let him in. When I got home I was greeted with a plumber's snake coming out of the vent on the roof dangling halfway down the back wall of the house. The employee didnt notice until he saw it though the kitchen window.

While the employee was working on the upstairs sink, the kitchen sink in the suite downstairs overflowed with all of the water and waste that he pushed down the pipe. This waste went all over the kitchen counters saturating everything that was there including our food storage. The mess got behind the kitchen cabinets, under the stove and through to the carpeted guest room. The employee had let the tap run for quite a while assuming the water was flowing down the pipe and out of the house. He didnt notice what was actually happening until it was too late. If he had told us a flood was a possibility I could have prepared but he was as surprised as we were even though he confirmed earlier that the two sinks shared a drain pipe.

It took us about 6 hours over 2 days to clean up and we had to throw away contaminated food, along with various household glassware, and dishes that were damaged by this incident. We are looking at getting our insurance company involved since the Electric Eel refuses to provide any liability insurance information.

When I communicated my experience to the company, rather than take any responsibility for his employee, the owner blamed us for the mess his employee caused.

I am very happy with this service. I made an appointment yesterday and they were able to come out today. I thought Gregg and Jesse were great to deal with and I felt they went out of their way for me.

Terrible service.

I have a leaky shower. They sent in 2 guys to fix it. the guys were courteous but obviously didnt know what they were doing. they fiddled with the handle for 10 minutes then told me that it was fixed.
When the shower started dripping in a few minutes they told me they will need to order new parts for the shower.
They called the office and told me that I needed to pay 200 dollars for the minimum charge.

NOTHING WAS FIXED. they were in my house for less then 15 minutes. They spent the next hour sitting outside in the van talking to the manager.

The manager spoke with me and told me that their van has a GPS that tracks how long the guys are here for. Did that GPS tell them that they spent an hour in the van?

A screw fell off the handle and they did not even blink. They told me "it is for holding the handle in place" I asked them to put it back in and the reply was "we cant"

so now I have a leaky shower AND a broken handle and I am out 200 dollars.

I am really really upset with this service. I understand paying the minimum charge, but not if you are in a worse off position! I've paid plenty of service people for a full amount for a job that only lasted a few minutes - but things were fixed. NOT BROKEN.

I got their ad from kijiji. The lady I spoke with had no issued booking me in for a laky shower. Then the plumber told me that they did mostly drains and just got into the "plumbing" if you cannot do the job please don't accept it.

I would not recommend them.

We have used this company in the past to deal with minor plumbing issues and have always found the service to be prompt and reasonably priced. I always appreciate when a job has been completed without finding out that there are hidden costs or factors we haven't considered, especially with plumbing concerns.
We also used their services for a major augering of the main plumbing line in an older home, with a video to show if there were any concerns.... I found the service on the pricey side, but thorough.

I need a garburator removed and proper piping installed. Also the pipes to be cleaned out.
Talked to their receptionist and she was very professional. Had someone out as soon as possible.
The service man was very friendly. Took the garburator out, had a look at my existing plumbing. He determined what needed to be done to put the right piping in and got it done fast and efficient. Looks way better under the sink than whatever was done before when I bought the house.
Would have these guys back for any plumbing job in the future. Highly recommend them.
