Scott and crew did an amazing job on our old dated kitchen. He was a great communicator through the whole project and solved a couple of unexpected problems with no issue. We will definitely think of Gala Renovations for future projects and recommend them for anyone looking for a quality, all-in-one renovation solution.

Scott and his crew did a wonderful job transforming our kitchen. It is a small space in an old house and we are really pleased with the finished room. The different tradesmen that came in were courteous, on time and skilled. Scott is an amazing ‘ problem solver’ when the unexpected arises. I highly recommend him.

We decided that we wanted to put our rental property up in the market. Scott managed to squeeze us in despite his busy schedule and he made it ultra easy - professional beginning to end. This was our second time with Scott and would recommend.

The workers were polite, informative, and helpful. They explained what they were doing, why and updated me as they worked. The work site was cleaned up at the end of the day with a minimum of disruption. I will certainly hire them again and will be glad to recommend them to our neighbours.

Starting the search for a renovations company can be extremely daunting and overwhelming. Naturally, I dove in to Google as a starting point and found Gala. I emailed Gala and Scott Thomas, the owner, responded professionally and promptly. From there, we set-up some time for him to stop by. I had an idea of what we wanted to accomplish renovations wise: a complete overhaul of the kitchen (including a structural wall), master bathroom and nursery, in addition to 2 custom closets and new entryway flooring, but we had no idea what that would cost/entail. Scott really helped us understand the process, while providing his wealth of knowledge for supplier resources (I wanted to quarterback the design aspect of the project) and being personable. From day one, we fully trusted him to keep us on the right track (considering our wishes and budget). Scott managed everything from the reno dumpster to the building permit and coordinating all of the moving parts for plumbing, structural engineering, electricity, crown moulding experts, flooring professionals, etc. It was a seamless experience and if there was ever a concern, Scott was our advocate and made sure we were happy with every service. I recommend Gala to everyone for all of the reasons above AND when COVID hit, he and his team took all necessary precautions to stay safe. Definitely reach out to Gala if you want the crème de la crème!

I can’t say enough good things about Scott and Gala Renovations. We engaged Scott to gut and renovate our kitchen, and we’re so glad we did!

Scott did an excellent job of keeping us informed from start to finish. He made sure we were aware of changes to the schedule, bumps in the road, and key decision points. The pandemic delayed our renovation, and Scott was excellent about checking in prior to the start of the work, providing provide updates and helping us prepare.

He delivered what he promised, on time, on budget, and with minimal disruption to my work and family. It was a great experience! We discovered some asbestos during the demolition portion of the work. Scott advised us right away, provided a couple of options (with cost estimates), and arranged for the additional work so that it didn’t disrupt the timeline at all. He also provided receipts for all of the additional work and did not mark it up.

The cabinetmaker he works with was also excellent! We are super happy with the final product and the available options. They were able to accommodate all of our special asks (spice drawer, pullout, garbage centre, special-size pantry, etc.) The installation team was excellent. They were pleasant, efficient, and professional. They even removed our front door to allow for a furniture delivery in the midst of their work. They were also great about respraying a pantry door that was scratched after installation.

Everyone single one of the subcontractors Scott engaged was top-notch! It was not our plan to be in the house every day throughout the renovation, but we had no choice due to the pandemic. All of the workers adhered to social distancing and mask guidelines and were great about accommodating special requests to manage the noise during important Zoom calls! They cleaned up every night and were very good about working around us.

I wouldn’t hesitate to engage Scott and Gala Renovations again. In fact, we’re thinking about a bathroom renovation in the spring, and Scott will be the only contractor I call!

We had two full bathrooms fully renovated in our condo and some other smaller work done (flooring, cabinets and painting in the laundry room as well as painting in other areas). Scott and his team were professional, considerate and respectful. They asked all the right questions, offered design options and provided honest responses. Scott is great to deal with, extremely knowledgeable, very calm, understanding and accommodating. Great attention to detail. Will definitely hire Scott again should we need more renovations and would refer him to others.

After uncovering problems in a new home from a poorly completed renovation, we hired Gala Renovations to help us correct the issues and rebuild several spaces. This included two new bathrooms, reconstructing most of the plumbing systems from the basement to the second floor and correcting a structural issue. Scott and his team were a pleasure to work with from beginning to end. Their craftsmanship was exceptional which was especially important to us given the circumstances. We uncovered several new issues while working together and Scott leaned into each one with urgency and care. There was never a job too big, small or strange. He was on site everyday to oversee the work and was very hands on which we appreciated. I can't say enough great things; he's a strong communicator, provides valuable design input, is flexible in his approach and transparent in his pricing, and overall a great person and pleasure to be around everyday. I would trust Gala Renovations with any future work. 

Scott and his team did a full renovation of our main floor, including kitchen, new floors, new layout, new window, all lighting, built-in closets and shelving.... everything! His site manager, Shaun, was on site every day for a period of over 6 months. The work he did was spectacular in terms of communication, craftsmanship and attention to detail. Plus, he was always considerate of our family's needs, and great to be around. There were some surprises along the way that delayed our project, but Scott and Shaun handled them with urgency and professionalism — and always tried to find a solution that met our priorities. Overall, we are extremely satisfied with the renovation and love our new space. We would highly recommend Gala Kitchens
