Fireplace West installed a gas fireplace in my family room in 2017. One of the features of the service that I appreciate is that Robin consults and provides advice about the best options available for the living space. I was so happy with the work he did that and the cozy new fireplace in the family room that I contacted him about doing another installation in my basement in 2018. Again I am thrilled. It is the perfect solution for my home.

Robin and his crew did a great job. We didn't know what we would find when we dug into the job, but he rolled with the punches and just got the job done. Robin has a keen eye on detail with a strong mix of technical know how and artistic ability. I would strongly recommend him for any fireplace renovation where you care about the quality of the work and finished product.

After purchasing a new home, we wanted to change the fireplace from wood to gas. After looking around, it was clear that Fireplace West was the best option around! I was incredibly pleased with the work that was done, and it was a pleasure having the team around while they completed the work!

We are overjoyed by the gas insert installed by Robin and Connor. We had shopped around for awhile and had a few different estimates but it was never made clear what would actually work in our space. During the initial visit, Robin let us know within a few minutes and with a few measurements what options would work for us and what he thought was our best bet. He definitely knows his stuff, was courteous and friendly, and never pressured us.

The install day was uneventful - and that’s a good thing! Robin and Connor showed up when they said they would, set up, and got to work. Only took a few hours and they kept the work area neat and tidy and cleaned up after everything.

Fireplace West recently installed two gas inserts in our home. This was one of four companies we contacted about this job. Fireplace West had a quote for us and was ready to start work before some of the other options were even ready to do an in-home visit.

Robin was efficient, straightforward and frank in all of our dealings in discussing the job, and the same held true for his work. The job involved some tricky aspects with a bit of custom work and a difficult gas line. Robin came in at exactly his quote nonetheless. Our dog also absolutely loved him, which is probably a better review than I could write.

We would highly recommend Fireplace West to anyone looking to add some warmth to their home by uprading to/adding a gas insert.

Fireplace West was quick to present a quote and schedule installation within two weeks of initial contact. We were very impressed with the quick turnaround, professional installation and friendly service.

By far, this company has the best price in town. And the service and workmanship provided by Robin was exceptional. When the custom trim to the gas insert could not be fabricated, Robin upgraded the trim to a bevelled one at no extra cost. He and Connar worked meticulously and got the conversion done in one day. He took the time to answer all of our questions and went above and beyond by giving us valuable advise as we plan to eventually frame the fireplace with tiles. Although the fireplace fan stopped working shortly after installation, Robin came less than 24 hours later and fixed the problem. You can't ask for better service. We LOVE our new fireplace and have been using it every day. Thank you Robin and Connor for everything.

We requested a quote from Robin, he arrived as scheduled and was very helpful in determining options for our fireplace insert. Robin walked us through the units that would work and the options for each of them. He provided quotes for 2 models. Robin also provided us some options for a mantle and was able to find a used one that we liked for a decent price. Our installation included the demolition of an existing brick hearth and the installation of floor and wall tile. We were responsible for providing the tile. The only limitation was with respect to the tile options, Fireplace West does not install mosaic tile (if we wanted mosaic we would have to hire a second contractor).

Robin and crew arrived on time for the installation which took about 1.5 days. Day 1 was demo, installation of floor tile and Valour fireplace insert. Day 2 was wall tile, mantle, and other finishes.

So far the unit looks and works great, lots of heat. We are looking forward to Christmas morning in front of the fireplace!

For more than 5 years we had been considering changing the fireplace from a wood to a gas unit. Seemed like such an enormous undertaking. But we decided this was the year to get it done. After some research, we contacted Fireplace West. Robin is very experienced and informed about all aspects of the fireplace business. He came to meet with us and was able to provide the reassurance we needed to be less intimidated by the process. He also pointed out that this was indeed the right thing to do – not only from the convenience of use perspective but also the consideration that our old unit was quite outdated relative to new regulations on wood burning appliances.
Robin and Connor arrived as scheduled on the Monday morning. All the appropriate protection for floor and furniture was put in place and they went to work dismantling and removing the old fireplace and prepping for the new unit. By afternoon on that first day, the new unit was already sitting in place.
The hook ups were done the following day and Dana was added to team as the framing and levelling around the unit continued.
On Wednesday morning Dana installed the ceramic tile - beautiful finishing job! By Wednesday afternoon Robin introduced us to our beautiful new fireplace. We just love it!
