My washing machine stopped draining and had a burning smell, so based on reviews on Homestars, I decided to use ABC Appliance Repair. I called on a Sunday and they were able to come out on Tuesday morning. I had an 11:00 am appointment and the guy called me on Tuesday morning and asked if he could come earlier, which worked out for me. They charge 60 dollars to come out and investigate the issue. He spent about 30 minutes taking apart my washing machine and draining the water and discovered that I had pantyhose stuck inside the machine. He charged 20 dollars for the labor. He said that I should never wash pantyhose and peds without a garment bag. Doh!!! A $80.00 mistake on my part! I appreciate his honesty and professionalism! Would definitely use this company again!

In the past, I have used ABC Appliance among a few other services. From now on, though, I'm calling them for help first and they didn't even fix my dishwasher.
Here's the story:
Christmas: my dishwasher stopped working. Monday morning: a call to the manufacturer suggested there was a leak. ABC came out a few days later and confirmed the leak. The repairman inferred that, after 16 years of reliable service, it might be time for a new dishwasher. The repair was going to be a fairly pricey (but, still far from the cost of a new appliance). A family crisis got in the way of dishwasher shopping. Fixing it appeared easier. ABC came out, spent a long time replacing the part and it turned out that an even MORE expensive part is also broken. At that point, it appeared I had to purchase a new dishwasher AND pay for the first pricey part (ABC kindly was willing to drop the labor cost). They just told me, however, that they will pull the part and charge me only for the original, already paid-for, diagnostic visit. That's service plus caring for the customer plus integrity.

I called ABC to come out and look at a fridge that was not cooling and a gas stove, where the burners were not firing up. Vlad was friendly, efficient, respectful and made the necessary repairs with reasonable cost. After the repair to the fridge and stove, l asked Vlad to also look at my dishwasher that had not been working properly for sometime. He found and fixed the issue for me right away at no cost. Vlad is the guy to call for any appliance repair. Thank you Vlad!

Very honest folks - I don't think anybody could have repaired my washer for anything lower.
I live in an apartment and my washing machine stopped working. I could hear the motor running, but the washing bowl was not moving at all.

While I knew it was a simple fix - i did not want anyone to rip me off since it was an old washer dryer.
I called these guys - they said $60 minimum to have a look at it - I said ok. When they came over, I asserted that if it is simple repair I want to get it done, else I want to throw away the washer.

They said, it could be minimum if it is a belt, if not it could go upto $200 for clutch repair. They opened the machine, instantly said that they knew what the problem is, took 15 minutes and set it right !!

And gave us clear instructions not to load the washer more than 75% since it was an old washer. Over all I am very happy with their service Vlad and Sam definitely know what they are doing.

Tech showed up the same day. They were able to schedule an evening 6-7 appt which was perfect.
Tech (Vlad) called at 6:20 to reconfirm and showed up in time.
So full marks for timeliness and professionalism. He was able to to listen to the symptoms and isolate it to the timer that was acting up on the refrigerator. While he did not have the part on him, he said he would put the order in and hoping for a permanent fix next week. Till then, he advised us on a workaround to temporarily resolve the problem if it recurred, which was very nice. All my previous service calls (and I have had many) were dealt with by Sears. Dealing with these guys is such a pleasant upgrade. Never going back to Sears unless its a warranty situation. They were able to source the part and setup a follow-on service in a couple of days on a Saturday evening. Again arrived on time and completed the work professionally. The $60 first visit fee was applied towards the final bill also.

The service provided by Vladimir of ABC Appliance Repairs was extremely professional, knowledgeable and courteous.
I will not hesitate to refer Vladimir to friends and family. Fair price, great service.

My husband called Vlad from ABC because our fridge was acting funny. We were very skeptical at first but found this guy from homestars and were hoping the reviews were accurate. When we first contacted him we made an appointment and he gave us a time frame for when he would be there and was a bit late, but we didn't care too much. We understand that stuff happens. When he arrived he immediately figured out what was wrong. Our fridge was leaking and he figured out why and he found something else that was wrong with the fridge. Apparently the fan stopped working, which explains why the edges of the door were so hot all the time. He ordered the part and quoted us about 200 for everything, which was much less than what we were expecting to pay. Everything was done quickly and professionally and he was quite informative. He definitely is someone we would recommend to our friends and family. He is knowledgeable and we are very happy with the service provided

Vlad called me back 20 minutes after I left a voice mail explaining my problem. He gave me an appointment time frame of 3 hours that same day.

He called while he was on his way to the property and met me there in a very timely manner. Within twenty minutes he had figured out the problem and fixed it.

The service call cost me $65. I'm a stickler for convenience, courtesy and professionalism. He was all of the above. Even though the problem could've been fixed on my own via trial and error his quick, easy resolution of it was greatly appreciated.

This was my sisters place and she was having some issues with her stove. He got in fixed everything and got out. I would highly recommend him.

After getting left high and dry by Sears Home to see about getting my dryer repaired I scoured online and found this place and all it's glowing reviews about his service and punctuality. Right off the bat, after I told Vlad my problem, he recommended I try a slew of quick fixes, before even thinking about setting an appointment up. A guy who would rather see me possibly fix my own problem if it were minor before even thinking about taking my money? Thats great. Unfortunately, the tips didn't solve the situation, so I booked him to take a more refined look. Vlad showed up on time, and even though the issue wasn't fixable, he gave me a very descriptive breakdown of the condition my dryer was in, what needed repair but wasn't cost effective to do so(another opportunity to make money but didn't take it), and how I could possibly alleviate my two cycle drying. Look no further for your appliance repair folks. He's the neighborhood fix-it guy we'd all love to have to call on. At the end thought he did fix a small issue that I was having with my freezer which really helped me out.

Two weeks ago we had a heating guy tell us our furnace was "lethal" and he legally had to turn it off. Vlad from ABC came out today, tested for Carbon Monoxide and there was none. He explained that our heater had a sensor that would shut it off if it was leaking, and that it was under warranty anyway. He saved us thousands. It works perfectly after he gave it a good cleaning.
