Dave the Plumber Plumbing and Heating

Way overpriced-almost double average plumber bill-should have got an estimate in writing-not happy with my discussions with Dave-was not friendly.

BEWARE out of town customers. I recently had a plumbing job completed by Dave The Plumber. His crew did a great job and were very efficient. Happy? Not when I got the final bill. They charged me additional travel fees because their crew got caught in traffic. I agreed to pay travel + truck fee (kms). Not great off the top but all the contractors are doing it and being in Baddeck we are at their mercy. Based on the truck fee of 176kms travel time would be 2hrs (@ $145/hr plus kms at $0.95/km). When I received the invoice, they wanted to charge me $776.25 for travel (thats before even turning the water off). When I complained they said the scope of work was larger than thought. Reallyquoted labour hours were 7. Actual labour hours were 3.5 and the cost of materials was actually 50% less than estimated. Not sure how that translates to work creepage. Icing on the cake, they are threatening to take me to claims as I refuse to pay the inflated portion of travel charges ($256) and said I was lucky they didnt charge me to go to their supplier. CRAZY TOWN!

Every few years we have our kitchen drain cleaned to ensure that nothing gets clogged and can cause bigger problems down the road. We didn't know who to call but we decided on Dave the Plumber. We made an appointment and he arrived on time. Immediately he went to work and had the drain cleaned and flushed out. He also gave us some cleaner to use each and every night to ensure that our kitchen drain would not clog in the future. He was very professional and he gave us instructions on how to keep our drain clog free. We would definitely recommend Dave the Plumber and if we require any other plumbing repairs we will be calling him.
