Ideal Stairs - stair recapping, stair refinishing and stair renovation in GTA

We had them replace our staircase and second floor this time last year, and decided it was time to do the main floor. Simply incredible. I figured it would take 3 or 4 days and it was done, and spotless in about 5-6 hours. Looks amazing.

Also put a vinyl floor in the main floor toilet. Whoever thought a wooden floor was a good idea obviously never had men or boys living in their house.

Just like last time, guys were incredibly fast but always friendly and professional. Never rushed, and asked all the right questions. Even moved some heavy furniture out of the way for me that I couldn't move. I just wish we had more floors for them to do.

My wife and I have owned and operated a kitchen company for 33 years, and over the years we've seen our share of good and not so good trades people. Recently we contracted Ideal Stairs from Scarborough to do our stairs and railings in our own home. Our expectation of service and quality is very high, but I have to say, Ideal Stairs exceeded my goals for top quality and service. Mesh kept in touch with me each day, letting me know when the guys would be there and what we can expect for the day ahead. Every night before the guys stopped work, they took about half an hour to vacuum all the area they had been working in. Now that it's complete and they applied the last coat of finish, the hand rail and stairs feel like silk, what a super job they did. Mesh did a great job in helping to make the all the style and colour choices of my new railing system and to coordinate the project. Everything was communicated well, and went off without a hitch during these Covid times. The crew executed the quality job very well, custom tailoring and fine tuning to the space and existing structures, and were diligent about setup and cleanup. The railing overall improves the look of the living/dining room, and is sturdy which is what I wanted, and it was achieved. I definitely recommend these guys, thanks again for the great job!

Our house has undergone an extensive renovation both the interior and exterior. We contracted Ideal Stairs to cap the treads, risers, stringers and replace the balustrades from our basement to second floor. We are very pleased with our experience and the outcome. They have pride in their work and rightly so. The colour match of the stain is so well done you would think it was done by the manufacturer of our new hardwood floors!

I contacted Ideal Stairs after combing through HomeStars reviews. We live in a side-split home and needed the stairs redone as part of a large renovation on our forever home. Since our stairs are open from the main living space to the bedroom level of our home, it was important that our stairs not only look great, but I wanted them to be done well..as if they were doing them in their own home. From my first contact with Mesh (of many), he provided all the information I needed and answered my many questions. He is professional and honest and responds quickly. Rajan checked in daily to advise me on what time the crew was showing up each day and stopped in a couple of times to check in on the progress and to see if we were happy. We weren't 100% happy with the first stain color sample for review as our floors are difficult to match, and they happily took it back to adjust the stain color until we were happy with it. Overall, Ideal Stairs is very professional to work with, they take pride in the work they do, and we are so happy with the quality of our stairs. They look great, and they were even able to eliminate the squeaks that have bothered me for years. Mesh, Rajan and team - thank you for doing such a great job with our stairs. I highly recommend Ideal Stairs as their prices are fair, and you won't find a company who cares more about the end result than them.

Mesh and his team from Ideal did a great job refinishing some very old and creaky stairs. Showed up on time and cleaned up at the end of every day. We are happy with he end result.

What a process! Working initially with Mesh via phone and pictures for a quote, to then working with Rajan who project managed the reno, was quite simple and straight forward. We wanted to reno both of our staircases, main floor and basement since they are connected and after getting 5 quotes, Ideal was the best option and fair in price point. They answered so many of my questions, were flexible in what they could do and ensured we were happy before calling the project closed! The workers themselves were nice and VERY CLEAN. They took about half hour every day to ensure the house was vacuumed and tidy before they left. The only thing I would mention is they do outsource any hardwood flooring you need installed to another contractor, who I didn't find as nice/to the standard of ideal. Just be aware of that since any delays on the subcontractor side could cause delays on Ideal workers finishing your stairs. Overall great process and happy with the results. It took about 2 weeks to complete the project.
