Great Customer Service

Several years ago we bought a number of windows for our home from Winodws by Installer. In July, 2013 a seal broke on one of the windows, horribly discoloring the inside of the window. We assumed that like our experience with other big companies, Windows by Installer would try to weasel out of replacing the window, by claiming we had owned it for too long or we must've done something to the window, or whatever. However, when we went to the showroom and told one of the people there our problem, he assured us it was no problem and that their warranty was a complete lifetime warranty.
He took our information, and customer service contacted us within a couple hours. They did not even come out and check the window, but simply verified which window it was and the correct measurements, and ordered new glass immediately. The glass came in two days later, and we scheduled a time for installation. This was done on August 12th. There was no charge at all for the service, not even some minimum replacement charge.
It is truly rare for a company to so totally live up to its lifetime warranty or other promises. We are very thankful we chose Windows By Installer for doing so and we love being able to see out the window.
In addition, the installer was very helpful in two other minor issues in the house at that time. We have never met an individual who was so readily helpful without charge. Thank you guys.

Windows and Doors

I went on Homestars to find a good company for new windows. I chose two companies to come out and give me an estimate and ended up choosing Windows by Installer because I really liked the Preservation windows' energy efficiency and style. I found the salesman to be very educated on all types of windows and on other companies' windows. He was honest and friendly but not too pushy and it was a good experience working with the company. Oleg and the other guys who came to install the windows were nice and took the time to answer my questions about the process and the windows themselves. They also cleaned up after themselves and washed every single window that they installed. The windows have already saved me a significant amount in A/C bills. I know they will save me money in the winter time too.

Great Work

My husband negotiated the poor salesman nearly to death, and I'm sure we ended up with a fair price. We ended up with great, really high-quality, triple-paned, argon-filled windows, and we're loving them. Our old windows were aluminum framed and difficult to open, plus we had to switch out storm windows for screens every summer/winter. It was a pain. These are inclusive and it's very easy to open and close the windows. We're happy with them. I was not at home for the installation but my husband was. He said the crew was very friendly and agreed to show him how they worked and some tricks of the trade. They cleaned up the mess and by the time I got home I couldn't tell anyone had been there. Other than having fancy new windows, of course. They look great. We love opening them up everytime there is a good weather.

28 window job

This was a professional and no pressure sale. There was a little confusion on the initial estimate, but we were replacing almost 28 windows w/various needs, so we had to walk through it a few times during the estimate to ensure it was accurate. approx 15 in the front of the house w/grids. 2 bay windows and various other sizes in the back and in basement.
Alex who came to measure was great and extremely knowledgeable! The entire instalation crew was great. I had a few very minor issues that were all fixed almost immediately. The issues were minor (3 screens w/imperfections that were replaced the same day as installation, and 3 attic windows were not ordered with grids as planned. I didn't notice this until they were finished, but they were quick to reorder and replaced with the accurate window as soon as it came in.
I had a great experience...Very clean and professional installation and the windows look great.

Great Work on our windows

Here is rundown of the job that these guys did for us. Removed and replaced five windows. Windows were casment style which were replaced with double hung windows. Also replaced Patio Sliding Door. All work was done right the first time, and the workers were very professional. They cleaned up after they finished and I could find nothing in the house or outside that they missed. They did have a person come out a few days later to make sure everything was OK and he did find two screws that were the wrong size and he took care of that. I would never have noticed it.

Windows & Doors

I never thought that replacing my old windows would turn out to be such a hassle, we actually shopped around a lot before finding Windows by Installer who were a perfect fit for us.
This is some of our experience with other guys: Pella's costs were ridiculously high, although incredibly nice. Home Depot was very aggressive in trying to make a sale and the representative outright said they would do anything they could to get our business because he needed to make his quota by the end of the year. The guy, who was a bit too misogynistic for my liking, offered questionable products and said we had to make a deal with him within a five day window. When we asked him for a quote on better quality products from a different manufacturer, he simply stopped returning our calls. Lowe's was a complete mess. The representative told us the discounts we would get and the price we saw in the initial estimate was much higher than what we would pay. When we asked him for the actual price, it was even higher. When we questioned this, he was rude to us. We asked him to come over on multiple occasions to talk about everything. He bailed on all the appointments and did not so much as give us any advance notice or answer our calls. He even made an appointment with us when he was in our neighborhood. I bailed on taking my daughter to her friend's birthday party for him and he still didn't show up. That's when Alex from Windows By Installer came into the picture. We refused to use any of the contractors from the big box stores because of those bad experiences and a family friend recommended Alex. He was amazing. He came over right away, offered us a good price, threw in extra work for no additional cost, and did an incredibly professional job. He also pointed out things that the representatives from the other stores did not (ie. the front door that they priced out was smaller than our current front door and would require additional work to both the interior and exterior of the house if we went that route. At the end Alex was a perfect match for us, and we would recommend him to others any day of the week.

Great Customer Service

Windows by Installer provide a great service and their prices are simply unbeatable!! My front bay window was broken and I needed it fixed ASAP being it was in front of my house at street level. I called 8 different repair companies including the original installer of the window and NONE of them understood my urgency needing this window to be repaired. When I spoke with Alex of Windows by Installer he understood my urgency and came in under competitor prices - he also came the very next day to make the necessary replacement. I cannot thank these guys enough. Great Job.

Glass door replacement

I decided to go with Windows by installer when one of my Glass Door got shattered by neighbourhood kids playing ball. After leaving a message on the voicemail that says "if we don't answer, leave a message and we'll call you back as soon as we're off the phone', only 7 minutes elapsed before they called back. Alex calmly dealt with my utter ineptitude at things like "remembering to take measurements of the area of glass" and talked me through the difference between laminated glass and tempered glass*. He called from the road to let me know he was on the way. On the phone, after asking if I needed this done as quickly as possible, he told me he'd arrive in an hour, and he beat me there. Everything was done within the hour. When it turned out I needed to go buy a new bottom molding, he left me a handful of the little nails. I have no idea about the price compares to other shops, to be honest, but the final charge was true to the quote and the whole thing from initial message to installed brand-new, full-light safety glass door took around 2.5 hours. He even offered to windex the fingerprints from the install before he left. Alex was the one painless part of a miserable process, and for that I promised to write this review, because he's awesome and everyone should call when their stupid neighborhood kid breaks their glass doors.

Great Service

I highly recommend Windows by Installer and its owner Alex is just an awesome guy. Exceptional experience all around on price, quality, service, and then some major above-and-beyond factors too.
After getting no follow-up calls or just plain bad attitudes at the three windows companies near my home, I found Windows by Installer online. The price was about 15% lower than other quotes and Alex was clearly eager to provide quality customer service. All communication was friendly, clear, and very timely. And the end product was exactly what I wanted, despite a major error along the way: my error. I mis measured. Pretty dumb. Yet in a situation where the mistake was clearly mine (that pesky measuring tape!), Alex delivered a correct replacement at no cost to me. I felt straight up lucky. These guys are effectively a smart start-up: a young entrepreneur who knows that service is table-stakes and a customer relationship is about keeping a long-view on transactions. If my experience is any indication, I expect to see his business grow quickly and successfully, and I will help them in this endeavor by referring all of my friends to the.

Windows

I have an old house in Toronto that's probably about 80 years old. I went with Windows by installer to replace wood windows from the 1960s that had stopped working and several vinyl windows (7 years old) that had started to fall apart. I was really mad about the vinyl windows because the former owner had installed them pretty new, but they literally were about to fall out of the wall. We had to lock them to keep them in place. The previous owner had the original windows replaced, but the installer of the vinyl windows did not insulate around the frame and cold air kept leaking in. The wood windows would rattle on a windy day. I found out about WBI through a recommendation from another contractor who was repairing my hardwood floors, he said he wouldn't work with anyone else - so that tells you something! Alex and Oleg came out to meet with us, took measurements and talked about our options. They install Window City windows. Know that they aren't the cheapest option. If you want cheap you can go anywhere, but know in about 7 years, you're going to be replacing them. But I found that they listened to what we were looking for, which for me was energy efficiency as a top priority. I liked that there was the chance to get a wooden interior on the windows. It allowed us to match the stain on sill and border opening - so now these windows look like they belong and do not look like replacements. We opted to stain the windows ourselves and they gave suggestions of how to do it. More importantly, they came out twice (next day!) when we had questions/concerns. Alex came to do the install and he removed and installed six windows and fixed a sill in a day and a half - plus he cleaned up after himself!
I am really happy with the new windows. They are beautiful, they are much more energy efficient than what I had and really block out the noise. Plus the fact that they go great with our interior is what we wanted all along.
