We hired Dave and his company to build our custom home in Etobicoke. The project involved a total tear down and rebuild. Dave was very knowledgeable about all aspects of the process from choosing the lot, to architectural plans and designs, the construction itself, and also selecting materials and finishes. Nobody is perfect but when issues arose, as they always do in construction, ultimately Dave strove to make us happy. What sets Dave apart is that even after the job was completed, he still makes himself available to review and fix things that have come up after we have moved into the house. He is very accessible and responds back promptly. In retrospect we wish that we spent more time upfront discussing the specifics of the various costs to build in Dave's budget, as we used his quote to obtain construction financing. Of course as brand new home builders it was hard for us to anticipate additional costs that we could incur, both incidental (for example fluctuations in lumber prices) and also due to choices and decisions we would make about the look and feel of our home, as the construction progressed. In the end we did go over budget and timeline (part of this was due to the harsh winter we had in 2015). Ultimately though, everything has worked out for the best and we are extremely happy with our home. We wholeheartedly recommend Dave and his company to anyone who is considering building a custom home.

I got the sense we chose the right builder from the first time we met Dave. Seeing his previous projects we knew quality was definitely not compromised. He was kind enough to provided us references where we directly spoke with his previous clients. I highly recommend to do this part. We spoke to two previous clients. Their homes were incredible. It also gave us a bunch of ideas with our place. The entire build took just over 10 moths to complete from the initial demolition/excavation to us moving in. It was a enduring 10 moths for sure. After its all said and done I'm happy to say Dave has become a friend of the family. We could not imagine hiring anyone else for this project.

It’s true when people say that you make some of the biggest decisions in the shortest amount of time. Buying a home for instance; something comes on the market and you have to view it, come up with a bid and submit it, sometimes in a matter of hours. Fortunately we had a bit more time to select our builder.

We met Dave Le Prevost almost a year before we purchased our home. We saw a house he had recently renovated and it resonated with us in its manner of style and simplicity. We were thinking of buying and renovating or building new, so we gave him a call. We were immediately put at ease by his straightforward approach and unique business model. He explained how the build / renovation process went, what to expect, what not to expect. Shortly after that meeting, my wife and I knew that this was the man we wanted to do business with.

But we didn’t buy right away. We wanted to buy in the Sunnylea catchment area, so we had some ups and downs finding what we wanted. Through this process we kept in touch with Dave, and on a number of occasions he came to look at perspective houses and would give us a critical assessment. I have to say we really relied on him, insofar as having not bid when he advised against it. Finally after 9 months of searching and bidding, we found a great buy, green-lighted by Dave, and in September we took possession. The decision as to who we wanted to renovate our home was also 9 months in the making, so much so that we didn’t even go through a competitive bid process. We wanted Dave to build our house.

Our house is 1950s storey and half, it needed quite a bit work, so we decided to completely gut it and build it new from the inside out. There are many things to consider as you may imagine and Dave guided us through it all; from dealing with the City and the architect, to deciding on what designs would work with our layout. He is very good at giving you options that will add to the overall value of the house. He was not pushy in any way and did not pressure us on any decision. He presented the options, gave us the facts, and let us decide. Once we had the design established and the go ahead from the city, Dave and his team set to work.

One of Dave’s key strengths is his team of contractors he works with. They are very skilled and great to deal with.. He doesn’t have them in at the same time, so they are not on top of one another, gives them the time to do the job right and as a result, things get done on time. In addition to the contractors, the immediate team of Leprevo Homes were a pleasure to deal with; Nothing was too small or too complicated for them. One other trait that we grew to appreciate was his time commitment. He did not over promise: he said we would be in late March/early April and we were. With our second son due in May, we really took comfort in not having to go through the anxieties of delays and wondering when we would get to move in.

We now have our home and we love it. It was a journey getting here and there were some trying times and things didn’t always go perfectly. But the old adage is true when they say that mistakes will happen, but it is how you handle them that speaks to your character. Whenever there was an issue, Dave handled it professionally and thoroughly, even after we moved in. To sum up our experience: on time, on spec, on budget, no heart attacks.

You can’t always trust who you buy your home from, but you need to trust your builder. You can trust Leprevo Design Build.

I would like to Thank David Leprevo for building us a beautiful home, and for guiding us through the entire process. David was with us, from the moment we met with our architect, until we moved in. He is efficient, and true genuine. He is always patient, answered my calls anytime, and great with people. He carefully chooses his trade people, makes sure they do and excellent job, and his management skills are outstanding. He is very hardworking, he would come with us design shopping even on weekends. The entire process, which people say it can be very stressful, it went very smooth, as David was in top of everything. Our house was finished on time, and we are enjoying our beautiful HOME.

Trust me when I say we interviewed many frogs before we found our "prince" of a contractor in Dave Leprevo! He is honest, direct and thoughtful in all of his business dealings and we never felt managed or misunderstood. He is a conscientious , hardworking, detail oriented business owner who strives to satisfy his customers from the beginning of the project to the end. Our build was not an easy one, as our plans were rather intricate but the vision we had was clearly understood by Dave and translated into a beautiful completed project. I would have no qualms recommending Leprevo Homes and I am very thankful we chose him to turn our house into what is now our dream home.

Dave Leprevo answered many of our prayers as a general contractor. He showed us a number of homes that he worked on, all soundly completed and beautifully detailed. When we called most of his multiple references, all were happy and/or grateful for all his work. As Dave started our project, he was professional and reliable. He knew the building process and building codes and he ensured that we were aware of them. The trades that he used were skilled and reliable. When a job was not completed correctly, he made sure the trade came back to fix the issue. He had a good grasp of home design and design trends and was able to help us with many of our interior choices. His trades were reasonable priced and he knew many ways that we could cut costs without cutting quality. He was always available to answer our constant questions by text, email or phone. If we had an issue, he took ownership of it and worked until it was resolved.
When we moved in, Dave still came back to take care of little “strange” details that you only see after living in the home. Most importantly, Dave has never said that he has done enough. He has worked tirelessly through the entire project.
He has a pleasant demeanor, an excellent memory, and an honourable character. All important traits when working with someone for a considerable time.

Hi there, we have decided to write this review for Leprevo Homes because we were absolutely impressed with David and our new home. We actually met David before we even bought our house - we knew we wanted to live in the Etobicoke area (Kingsway pocket) but we needed help in choosing a home on a great lot for our price range. We interviewed 4 contractors before meeting David. All other contractors gave us ridiculously high pricing (they thought we were made of money) because of the area that we wanted our home and none of them seemed as passionate ... Anyway, along came "Honest David" (thats what our kids call him). David was there from step 1! He helped us select the prefect property for what we wanted to build and built us a brand new home for our budget. Other than Davids personality his work is just exceptional, he was always just a call away if we had any questions - never left us wondering, his team were so polite, his knowledge is impressive – really makes you feel comfortable with the building process, and he kept us on budget. Overall our experience with Leprevo Homes was nothing we imagined. If you are looking for a contractor he must be met with. Once you meet David, there’s no more searching!
