Prompt arrival and accurate diagnosis of electrical problem: half of the house had no power. Ultimately, the solution lay with the power provider, but Great Dane's clear description of the problem allowed me to quickly and effectively communicate the details of a rather technical problem to the vast bureaucracy that is the power company. I highly recommend this contractor.

I have an older home with the original electric panel that had a fair amount of previous DIY work that needed attention, and a broken conduit at the meter. Dan came out to give me a quote, and when the work was complete, it actually ended up costing slightly less as the Enmax disconnect fee was lower. Martin was helpful in answering my questions and overall I am very happy with the work. I plan to get the guys back to help me upgrade the garage electrical in the near future.

On time, efficient, friendly, and they did a great job. Can't really ask for more. I would recommend them to anyone and will likely use them again in the future.

I am very happy with the service and follow up with Martin and Dan. I would use their service for all my electrical needs for both home and business. Very knowledgeable and competent! Reasonably priced compared to competitors :)

These guys are unreliable and inept. I had a light switch that stopped working and had them come over to evaluate the issue. It took about a half hour for this guy to finish. At the end of the job, he replaced my motion detector with a plain switch because he couldn't figure out the 3-way switch. Note that the switch had worked for the for several years prior. So I trusted his judgement and allowed for a simple solution. I paid $146 for half an hour and $10 for using a credit card.
Two days later, the switch stopped working. I contacted them to see what they could do. The owner said to meet Friday. I take the afternoon off work but he gets held up at another job and can't make it. I try to reschedule three times. No response for two weeks.
Seems this company does shoddy work. Fixing root causes is not their strength. But they do like your money.

Unfortunately I did not have a positive experience with Great Dane. It took over 1 week to get a quote (this is without someone even coming over to the house to view the job). The work done was not good quality. The plug looked unfinished and set back in the drywall. Drywall and insulation were left off for inspectors but never put back. Pricing was acceptable though.

We had to install a plug in for a new washer as there was only a single 220 line in the stacked machine area. I really appreciated dealing with Great Dane as they actually answered the phone when I called (not just the machine..) and responded promptly to texts. We were able to organize what was needed for an estimate with emailed photos and data. Although this was a 'small ' job they got
to it quickly, on time, and did an efficient tidy job - very pleasant. I would use them again in a minute!

Martin's was able, in a relatively short time, to diagnose and resolve an issue that was caused by some funky wiring of a 3 way switch in the kitchen (by someone else in the past). His high level skill and experience was evident. The only issue that came up was that the first service guy sent was unable to fix the problem. He seemed at rather a loss with diagnostics and then there was a delay in service until Martin was available. Martin was however very fair in not billing for the extra time. He also provided excellent customer service in resolving the issue and kept in good communication with updates of the delays.

I contacted Martin because the electrical pad to my hot water tank was shorting out and we didn't have hot water for 2 days. Martin came out right away and had a look. After seeing what the problem was, he determined that it was more of a plumbing issue and wasn't able to help me. Although he wasn't able to help, he did get me in touch with a fantastic plumber who came out right away. It was a very cold snap in Calgary and plumbers were very busy, but because Martin recommended the plumber, he came right away. Martin also called the next day to make sure that everything was ok and that we had hot water again. Amazing costumer service, great knowledge and incredibly professional. I would recommend Great Dane to anyone!

I called Great Dane Electric because of a buzzing noise from our electrical panel. A technician arrived at our house within 24 hrs as scheduled and diagnosed the problem quickly. The technician had to return for a second visit to install a new breaker. Organizing the service visits was a breeze, personnel were incredibly professional and knowledgable. I would highly recommend Great Dan Electric for any electrical needs. Great job!
