I've had windows installed through HomeDepot/Peak Installations previously and the service has been great, from the quoting to the installation. This time, the installers left a 4 inch gap in the silicone caulking on the outside. I called the Project Coordinator who was great at customer service. She advised the installers would call me to set up a time to come back and fix the problem. Waited a few days, then contacted her again. Turns out the installers did not bother to call me; simply went into my backyard and fixed the problem. Think the issue is with this particular installation crew.

I was ordering a whole set of entry doors plus side door from Home Depot. The Peak salesman came and expected me to make a $15000 purchase without seeing any samples. After I failed to find the glass/door style at Home Depot here AND in the USA (where he directed me), I cancelled that order and made a new order for the only doors I was able to find and see - BUT the next day the salesman told me they could not do the color I chose. Why didn't he know that before we wasted a whole day?
I was trying to get these doors installed before Christmas but at this rate, it would take a month just to get the order right!
I then said I would do the side door only but he had given me 3 unexplained prices for that same door and simply sent me an order to sign for the higher price. When I asked for an explanation I never heard from him!!! So much for "time is of the essence"
Therefore I asked for a refund. Days later he finally emailed me as if nothing had happened and said i could have a refund - but I am still waiting. What poor service and poor knowledge of product!
TWO WEEKS LATER - NO REFUND!! I had to pay over $4000 to my credit card company to cover the deposit charge the salesman took the day he came over! Why did his charge register with my credit card company within hours but the refund is still not registered at my credit card company after 2 WEEKS?????
PS I have since had other quotes and the home depot one is way higher and the quality is no different from anything I can see!!!!

Home Depot/Peak Installations were very easy to deal with from the very beginning. From the first in store inquiry to sales person to the measuring and finally the installation by Kris and his crew. Everything was done professionally and all people I dealt with seemed very experienced and knowledgeable. They arrived early and worked through the day. The process was smooth. We replaced ALL windows and front door and frame and was told it would take three days, yet they were all finished in two days. The job was flawless and
recommend emphatically. Thanks to Home Depot, Peak Installations, Kris and your crew for a job well done!

Our roof was replaced by The Home Depot(HD), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada in Dec. 2012. In fact, it was contracted out to a third party through its partner – Peak Installations Inc(PK). When we realize that how the business works, it is too late. Our calls are always transferred to PK from HD customer service and PK does not care. It evens did not response my dozens messages now.

Since the installer left, our nightmare began. Fifteen minutes later, we noticed there is air leaking from the Sky window. The noisy hears like hurricane whistle, very loud and noisy. However, the installers never came back due to the work is one time business for them. A few days later, the former peak installation manager Paolo sent a person coming over, who said he did not do this type of work; Several weeks later, Paolo sent a drywall worker, he said the could not do this type of work either. One month later, it was caulked from inside. However, we can still hear the wind blowing noisy during the heavy wind.

Another problem is that the damaged roof plywood was not replaced as we required in the contract because the installer did not care and they could receive same payment from HD without doing extra work.

Next, the water leaking problems happened one month later in Jan 2013. The leaking places include three area: a. ceiling area in the main bedroom on the back side of the house closing to the chimney; b. ceiling area in the 2nd room in the front side closing to the roof valley; c: front side wall area closing to the eave and window. Later, what we was told the leaking problems were caused by ICE-DAM, were not be related to roof installation.

However, during the summer time from 2013 to now, we found that the leaking problem in front side wall area under the eave closing to the window still exists. The answer what we got from The Home Depot was that the eaves trough was blocked, which caused WATER BACK flowing from the roof edge to the front side wall.

The eaves trough was replaced in Jul, 2014. We found that the leaking problem in front side wall area is not gone. This time what we got from The Home Depot it was due to the attic; there was no problem with the roof installation.

There is no ice-dam in the summer anymore. However, the wet front wall problem directly under the eave still happens after heavy long raining now. The Home Depot still insists there is no problem with the installation, it is due to the soffit blocking of attic. When we showed the wet picture to the current supervisor Ralph, he said he cannot see the difference between wet area and dry area.

The main problems what we experienced with HD are:
Every time we got different inspector or installer involved, because it does not have itself crew. So that we got different answer from different inspector or installer each time. During winter time, the inspector could tell us that it was frozen and snow covered now and he could not go to top, please call him later. In the spring or summer time, when we tried to call the same guy, you cannot reach at the same guy anymore because he left(eg. Ben XXX, Paolo XXX) or he was a thirty contractor for the one time work.
How frustrated we fell with business with the Home Depot and PK!

The total experience was great. The only awkward aspect was timing of the actual installation; however, the scheduler was always available and kept me informed of the timing. All worked out in the end. I look forward to a cozy winter!

Installers did not fix roof decking properly....just demo, paper and shingled....then cleaned up and took extra material with them. Not a roofer but i think they should have replaced the drip cap? as well....old material is still on roof....

Very pleased with rep (Rob), price, quality of underlay/shingles and professionalism of installers. The cottage was very much in need of new shingles and we are very happy with the end result. The site was left very clean and the old shingles/underlay removed from the site. Nice work! Thanks! Glad to recommend them.

The service from Karen the project manager was excellent. She went out of her way to ensure we would get the installation done on time and the installers, Janusz and Walter were fabulous. They worked hard, went out of their way to ensure things were installed properly and made sure we were happy with the final product. I would recommend highly.

Initially I thought it was expensive but when I saw the installation I realized I could never have installed this door on my own. I'm very happy with the results.

I recently did my windows, the contractors did an excellent job. They showed me from start to finish what was wrong with the old ones. Would recommend this company. Thanks
