Horrible Service

I booked my move more than 6 months in advance and it wasn't until the last week before my move they decided to tell me that they could not move me on the date that I had booked. Unfortunately this did not work for me as I had to leave 2 days after I originally booked and they wanted to move me two days after that.

Horrible experience overall.

WOW!!! this company is a joke! The owner seemed like a half decent guy- BEFORE HE GOT HIS MONEY!!! Well they delivered our stuff about 90% of it, 10% was missing -BIG STUFF!! Patio chairs, table (that has been in the family for years) they told us to have the claim filled out within 10 days and they will make a settlement if they can't find our stuff. Well they had told us originally nobody else's stuff was on the truck with ours (and it didn't go into a holding (storage unit) because it came straight from pick up location. SO REALLY there was no reason to have LOST our stuff! Yeah thats what we thought. So they finally admitted that they did have another persons load on our truck, then eventually told us it was 3 different people. We have left numerous phone calls, emails with out ANY reply!!!!!! Nothing.. We have to block the calls in order for them to answer us. Yeah, they do answer when its not our area code!!! We still have not received our missing stuff or our settlement with a load that was suppose to be "insured". This company is the MOST un professional company I have ever dealt with!! PLEASE take these reviews seriously!

Moving and storage

I had a very bed experience with this company and after a constant follow-up with the company with rarely available reps., I have no reason to believe this company as a big fraud company who taken away your money from credit card without informing you and without providing services. Below is a summary of my case:
1. Although sales rep. told me to charge $ 100 flat for whole contract as a deposit, they charged me $ 400 without my knowledge. I came to know this only when I checked my credit card statement.
2. My pickup was scheduled on May 28 around 8 AM. Till 2 pm, no body shown up . So I started follow up. After a constant follow up, around late evening they informed me that their pickup truck is stuck near Regina due to mechanical failure and we will come to know new date of pick up only after Tuesday June 2. I told them about all my schedules which are to be rebooked and my house is to be handed over to land lord on May 30 with cleaning and inspection. Everything is to be cancelled and start from scratch to re book all appointments.
3. Moreover my travel to Toronto was also scheduled and booked, which I have to cancel.
4. After reaching to Toronto, when I started follow up for refund, first answer I got is: we do not refund any money back as per policy. When I informed them that cancellation was your fault since you are unable to reach on time and for future timing also you are not sure, so It was forced me for alternate arrangement.
5. After a long battle of arguments and constant follow ups thru phone and email and voicemails, I was tired and sent them email about legal proceedings, but all in veins. No reply till next day.
6. I have made a phone call again today on June 23, 2015 to speak with someone from customer service and straight away inform them that I am going to lodge a complaint of financial fraud since your company is totally un responsive of all of my follow ups and I have wasted lot of my valuable time and you have no option left for me. Today I am not going to ask for my refund, I am calling you just to inform you about my decision and sending you email for confirmation.
7. To my surprise, within 30-40 min., I got a phone call about my refund and keeping all their rules aside (which were told by different people at different time during these couple of weeks and follow up), they send money thru e transfer.
Summary :I will never recommended this company to anybody because of the troubles I faced and the way they responds is definitely not create an impression of “ Honest company”

moving and storage

I’m very unsatisfied or my experience with Greenland/Midland Vans Line. I moved from Gatineau to Edmonton. I had 2 major problems. I was billed wrongfully for storage unit that I didn’t use because of a mistake from somebody within the company and issues with my delivery and missing items.
I called in June 2014 to have a quote and the price was good and after talking to the rep, Nathalie, I decided to sign a contract with Midland. I schedule my pick up date for August 30, 2014 and the guys showed up and loaded my things in the truck. So far I was happy with the service and I had the peace of mind that my things were handled. I also signed for 8 weeks of free storage, so until October 25. So when I was getting closer to the end of those 8 weeks, I called to make sure my things would leave their storage place to be delivered to Edmonton. I called Midland the first week of October to ask when my things could be shipped. The guy I talked to told me they only shipped to Edmonton on the 15 of each month, so I asked to be on that shipment. I also gave him my email address, and ask him to email me the confirmation and at the same time I would be able to email him the address for the delivery. I’ve waited and I didn’t receive any email. I tried to call again the week after, multiple times, and no answer. I call October 16th to get a confirmation that my things were on their way and give the address. The man I talked to confirm that my things were in transit and I was suppose to received them 10 open days later. So I rent a storage unit starting Oct. 27 to receive all my belongings. When by October 30 I haven’t receive any call from anybody I tried to call again to make sure everything was on track. After multiple tries, I never got to get the line. So I called Greenland, because it was that name that was showing on my receipt. I talk to Erin and she told me that my things had left the storage unit Oct 29, 2014. Two weeks after the confirmation that I had and passed the limit date for my storage unit. After I noticed that I had been charge for a full month of storage, 463$, so a couple days pass the due date, when I had the confirmation that my things would be shipped enough day prior so it won’t cause any trouble. I called back and express my issue to Erin. She said she understand and she thought that I shouldn’t have been charge and that she would check with the right people to fix the situation and call me back in the next few days. A week later, I still hadn’t received a call back so I called back and she said she would try to talk to those people and call me after. Still no calls from anybody and I called again and ask her who was in charge of those problem. She said I should talk to Irene. The problem is that Irene is a part time, so I was calling twice everyday and I couldn’t talk to anybody, she was never there and sometimes people were telling my there was no Irene working for Greenland Vans Line. In the meantime, I received my shipment, Nov 12, 2014 and I notice a lot of my things were missing, but I couldn’t do the inventory because everything is a storage unit, because my house won’t be ready until April 2015. I started the claim for my missing sectional and a few boxes that I noticed were missing at the same time I was still trying to get in touch with Irene for my refund. I have been directed to the man in charge of the claims for my couch and I talked to him and he confirmed that they looked into the storage and couldn’t find my belongings so they would start an offer to compensate me. When I called back a few days later, because he was not calling me back, he magically found my things and told me that they would be on the next shipment Jan 5. I told him that I am working and since it is the company mistake, I want my things to be delivered on a Saturday. He agrees and said it wouldn’t be a problem. That same week I finally talked to Irene and she said I would need to talk to her boss, Nancy, to resolve the problem, but she was on vacations until Dec 22, 2014, that I should call her back then. I called that day and when I tried to be transfer to Nancy, the person on the phone told me no Nancy were working there, so I asked to talk to Irene who was not in the office. I tried to reach somebody all during Christmas time without success. The week of Jan 5, 2015, I called to confirm my shipment was on its way and that I wanted it delivered a Saturday, the man I talked to confirm that it wouldn’t be a problem, then I explain my situation over again and the person told me that Tracy is the one I should have talked to all that time. So I was transferred to her and she said she would process my request and her boss needs to approve it before they send me a cheque, somebody was suppose to call me that same day to confirm. Without surprise, nobody called. I called again the next day, Tracy said that she would tell him again and he would call me back. After that, I unsuccessfully tried to talk to her or her boss multiple times every week until Feb 5, 2014 when I talked to Mark. He said he would call me back the next day, Feb 6, in the morning with a solution. No answer, so I called back in the afternoon and he had left at 1 PM, so I talked to the rudest employee in the place. That man was lacking interpersonal skills and he was very insulting and didn’t try to understand the situation and even less tried to find a solution. He told me that somebody called me to let me know that they wouldn’t pay me back what they owned me, and that I should be the mature one and stop calling. That I’m complaining for no reason and that if I’m not happy to use legal procedures, the company won’t change its mind and I don’t deserve my money back.
I called the week of Jan 19, 2014, to know when to expect my delivery and also to confirm that delivery on a Saturday would work. The man said it wouldn’t be a problem; he was scheduling it for Saturday Jan 31, 2015. The truck driver called me Tuesday Jan 27, 2015, at 9 to inform me that my delivery was going to be at 11 that same morning. I said no, that is not what I was told 3 times, that it has to be a Saturday because I was working and had appointments, I couldn’t just leave on a short notice like that. Nobody called me the day before to confirm that this would work. The truck driver was rude and said he would call the office and I asked him to call me back after. After 2 hours waiting I called him back and he said he didn’t call me back because the office guy already called me back. He had nothing to tell me so I had to call the office and I talk to the same rude guy that I talk to Feb 6. He said that they can’t delivery on Saturday that there’s other clients that works too and they take time off for that. I explained that I requested that because that delivery was because of the mistake of somebody in the company that “lost” my things, and if everything was done properly on the first try, we wouldn’t be in this situation. He asked if I could make it work for a delivery at night, I said yes. He said he would call the driver of the truck to confirm and he would call me back. After 4 hours, I hadn’t received any call from anybody, so I had to call back. The girl I talked to on the phone said they recognize my phone number and to tell me that it would be ok for this Saturday, I should receive a call on Friday to confirm. That Friday, nobody called me. I spent the day waiting on Saturday and nobody called or tried to deliver. I received a phone call Tuesday morning, Feb 3, to tell me they could deliver that same night between 6-7 PM. To get it over with, I said yes and waited for their call. They deliver my things in the storage unit. My boyfriend helped to make everything fit in the unit, because the delivery guys were just unloading the truck and they left before we were done placing all the boxes inside the unit.

Long Distance Move

This is by far not only the WORST moving company, but the WORST company period that I have ever dealt with....they told us our stuff would be delivered within 5-10 days and not only were they 3 weeks late but they were extremely rude and unprofessional any time we would call for answers. They rarely answer their phones and they NEVER call back when they say they are going to. Thank goodness we did end up receiving all of our stuff in one piece but unfortunately we missed a lot of work due to promised delivery dates that they didn't follow through with. I would never ever ever recommend this company to anyone. You definitely get what you pay for. Next time I will pay the extra money to have my stuff handled professionally. They also tried to charge us more by telling us we had about 500 extra pounds then we actually had so good thing we weighed all of our own boxes before they picked up. Use these guys at your own risk...terrible company.

Mover

NEVER NEVER NEVER select Greenland Vanline as your mover even if they want to do it free of charge!!!
here is my experince in summary

1). They deceived you with the weights around double times
and never give you a weigh scale ticket

2). choosing pick up date is by you. choosing delivery date is by them!!!!

3). They charge you in every possible way before your delivary in any possible way!!! and threat you not to deliver before your payment. it is not because your staff needs extra care or something. they ask you money even if they make a mistake on address, time, ... any thing

4) people there are very irresponsible they will be disappeared after you pay them.

I had a very very very bad experiences with this company and will follow my case in any possible way

They overcharge, no return calls, change their contract in the midway of shipping, and damage

A lot of unpleasant experience when doing business with this company. Their staff have horrible attitude, some are very rude. They overcharged me on the weight around 500lbs and 100$ surcharge. The booking agent was sweet to tell me by phone and email before my booking that they didn't have any surcharge, no hidden fees. They charged only based on the weight. I sent her my stuff list, she quoted me 745$ based on 1000lbs. Now they charged me 1118.25$ based on the weight of 1540lbs. I was out of blue, 17 boxes (many are small boxes, see attached picture) are as heavy as around 900lbs. When I asked their customer service manager if I can rescale, he yelled me that I was creating problems and wasting his time. They also damaged my stuff. One leg of a brand new chair was broken (see picture). They changed their contract in the midway of shipping; almost every contract items were changed. When I questioned this inconsistence, the woman working in their accounting department yelled me over the phone that she didn't care about what their booking agent emailed to me; no matter what, I had to pay based on the contract she sent to me. Also it was very difficult for me to find my booking agent to ask her about her quote, the bill, and payment method after I got their new contract. She sat there and didn't pick up her phone when I used my home phone (associated with my booking). I hung up and call her again with different number. She answered her phone right away and transferred me to sb else without a word after she recognized my voice. “Needless to say, UTTER CHAOS!!!” this is the comment from their employee! Further, they were almost 2 hours late to deliver my stuff as their schedule. I had to change my daily life. I was 15 minutes late. Then their truck driver told me that he was busy and can't wait for me that long. He was going to leave without unloading my stuff. I saw his truck almost empty except my stuff and another mattress. What kind of personality! No honesty, no respect to their customers at all. They don’t appreciate your business. WHAT THEY TRULY WANT IS ONLY YOUR MONEY.
I list my shipment items below for the public judgement. Is it possible to be 1540lbs for this small shipment? They said they weighed it at government certified scaling station and showed me the weight ticket when they delivered. But I have no way to find out that ticket is for my stuff.

one queen size kingsdown Sonoma mattress, one box spring, two bed frames,
one 7-piece Aran dining table (I estimated 150lbs),
one Costa bonded leather sofa (light one, http://www1.thebrick.com/brickb2c/jsp/catalog/product.jsp?prod=COSTA2R-S&navAction=jump&navCount=0),
one 32’’ HAIER 720P HDTV, (shipping weight 15lbs) (http://www1.thebrick.com/brickb2c/jsp/catalog/product.jsp?prod=32D2000&navAction=jump&navCount=1),
17 boxes (many small boxes, some as big as shoe box, the lightest one I weighed today was 3.9lbs, the heaviest one was 40lbs),
one upright vacuum, (17lbs)
one small square dining table (34lb14oz Ikea info),
one small side table (8lbs, Ikea info),
one 0.7cu.ft microwave (27lb, http://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/danby-07-cu-ft-microwave-oven/6000189409917)
one condo drying rack (http://www.costco.ca/Greenway%c2%ae-Condo-Drying-Rack.product.100016674.html),
one small iron board (purchased at 10$ at Canadiantire).
one small plastic flat box (dish dry rack)
one small plastic bag (small plastic garbage bins and plastic wash basin)

Contentious Storage Charge

With this letter I am bringing to light unfair business practices and contentious charges from merchant Greenland Vanlines. In brief, Greenland Vanlines are charging me with $236,67 in storage fee due a to a delivery that arrived one week late. Their rationale is that I should have given my delivery address on or before Friday October 3rd 2014 and that my failure to do so lead me to receiving my goods late. My delivery address was given one business day later than this 'deadline' and was given on Monday October 6th 2014. The reason why this is an unfair business practice is because I was never notified of this October 3rd 'deadline'. The contract doesn't make any mention of this, neither does any of my email exchanges with them. So now I am being penalized because the merchant omitted to inform me of my responsibilities before hand.

Greenland Vanlines engages in unfair business practices and I have been convinced to sign a credit card slip on deceptive information provided by their employee. My last conversation with them today (Monday November 24 2014), ended with them saying that they would not reimburse me although they agree that it is their failure to inform me of their policies that lead to this late delivery and extra charge. I am very frustrated with they services, they have been very uncooperative and never returned called when they said they would.
