Windows

I was having most of the windows in my home replaced and went off of the good reviews of this company.

The windows arrived ahead of schedule, every time someone needed to one over for measurements or for the actual installation, it was very prompt.

I had run into some miscommunication issues around what to do with the old trim. These windows were a bit smaller and as such, marks from the old trim were noted around the new trim. The company offered to have someone come in and touch them all up so it wasn't an issue anymore, which was fantastic. The windows look fantastic, and I am very pleased with the company and the customer service. This review was amended due to the company going out of their way to fix any of the issues that I had around the trim. I would, and in fact, already have recommended this company to a friend of mine

Company Response

Thank you Jenna, we're not always perfect but we work hard to make sure you're happy in the end. Have a great summer and please call us anytime.

FYI for anyone reading this, full frame replacement windows are sometimes smaller on the inside if your existing wood frames are very thick. We always recommend sanding it smooth and painting underneath existing casing/trim so that there are no visible lines when the new trim goes up.

Windows

I was having most of the windows in my home replaced and went off of the good reviews of this company. The install was just done today and I already have complaints. The windows seem like they are good quality. The installers were friendly and professional.

Before I had the windows installed, I was also getting the entire home repainted. I asked Sunview if I needed to keep the old trim, remove it, and if anything had to be done. They said they will replace the trim, and all I had to do was rip the old trim off. The new window are 3 inches by 2 inches smaller than the old ones, so even though we painted underneath where the old trim was, there are lines and gouges in the walls where it was, since the new ones are significantly smaller. This goes all the way around the whole entire window on all of my windows, and it looks terrible. After spending that kind of money, I would have expected more.

When we questioned the company about it, the man essentially said it was the painters fault, and that he couldn't control what other trades do. We very specifically asked him, as we had painters coming in, able to do the work, and he told us nothing more would need to be done than remove the old trim. He said "We didn't do anything wrong. It's a perfect install. I can't control what other trades do."

After reading reviews on here, I KNOW that Sunviews typical response to negative feedback is "well, the survey you filled out said you were satisfied." Yes. Mine does too. Why? Even though I noticed these faults immediately upon returning home at completion of the job, the survey was handed to me and required to be filled out in the presence of an installer, making me feel uncomfortable with giving a poor rating, especially when I have no issue with the installer, only with the man in charge. So yes, while you received a survey stating I am satisfied, I am most definitely not satisfied.

A little bit of proper communication can go a long way, and now I am going to have to remove the trim, then fill, sand and repaint around where the new trim will be, and put the trim back up, fill the new holes on the trim, and sand and paint it.
