I recently had my 20 x 22 double garage built by Gecko Projects and I couldn't be happier with the results! Derrick was very professional and knowledgeable, he did a great job of answering all of my questions and explaining the process to me so that I knew what to expect. He was also great at communicating and providing updates along the way which I really appreciated!

I wanted stucco exterior to match my house and I was nervous about how it would turn out but it completely matches the exterior of my house and overall looks fantastic. Also, despite unfavorable weather conditions, the garage was completed within a very reasonable time frame. Overall I am very pleased with how my garage turned out, everything looks/works perfectly - I highly recommend Gecko Projects!

When we started to look at building a garage we obtained multiple quotes from various contractors in Calgary. We found that many of the builders were simply not interested in actually estimating what we wanted to build, but rather what was easiest for them to build.
Enter Derrick at Gecko projects. He showed up for an estimate and I explained what we were looking to do. Not only did he listen to what we actually wanted to build but he suggested a few very inexpensive or no cost items that would set our garage apart from the cookie cutter garage packages the "other guys" were offering. His cost was not the cheapest nor the most expensive but the value he offered us after seeing what his standard items included was amazing! The quality of his crews work is second to none and we are extremely happy with the finished product!
I 100% recommend Gecko and if we move and require another garage I won't even phone anyone else! Quality, value and respect- Derrick and Gecko projects is your guy!

We had an older, deteriorating single garage with a carport that Gecko Projects demolished and replaced with a double garage.

The process was as painless as I could have imagined. Derrick is extremely easy to work with and will entertain whatever questions or comments you have on the process, the construction, materials, etc. The design process is easy and the options provided covered everything I was looking for.

The demolition was completed within one day, the concrete was completed on time, and the garage construction went ahead of schedule. There was no mess or rutting left in the alley, the yard was minimally disturbed, and the adjacent trees (which there were many) were all left intact.

Lastly the garage looks great and everything works as intended. I would highly recommend working with Gecko Projects to complete a garage project.

I had been doubtful about building a garage on a very small, overgrown backyard. I knew that it needed a quality builder so based on the reviews, I chose Gecko Projects. They came through in spades. The initial consultation was very helpful in finding out what was involved and Derrick was very knowledgeable and open about the process. They kept me informed throughout and did an excellent job from removing a small jungle of trees and bushes to building the garage itself which came together remarkably quickly and looks fantastic. They even came back and built a nice new fence to close off the yard. Great job guys!

Derek is meticulous in his planning & organizing. He has multiple meetings so you know what is going on and as far as future plans. I wanted someone that was going to get it done quickly as my neighbor is the neighbor from .... The concrete was done ahead of schedule. The garage was able to start ahead of schedule. I kid you not they started at 8am on a Thursday morning and they left at 4 pm with just a little siding left to finish. They started Friday at 9 and we’re finished at 11am!! The only thing left was the garage door and evestroughs which were completed within 2 weeks. It was amazing to watch these guys work. This was a custom built 18x28 garage not a prefab!!
They did such a great job my son had them build a more custom larger garage. He was also stunned how fast his went up. Fantastic company that operates like a well oiled machine. His crews were amazing. No swearing, premises always kept clean. Even building inspector was impressed. Thanks again Derek. Sorry it took me so long to write this review!!

This company is unbeatable! Derrick is professional, personable and is an expert in building garages. He communicated efficiently the entire way through the process, I always knew what was happening and what was coming next. He answers emails/questions quickly and thoroughly. His crew are really pleasant and work quickly. The garage they built for me is solid (excellent materials/foundation) with quality workmanship all the way through. Being a single woman, I had concerns about removing existing fencing, wood etc. Derrick and his crew took care of all of that for me. I appreciated and enjoyed the process all the way. GECKO definitely goes above and beyond!

It took us two years to decide and get moving on our project. We had to demolish a rotting triple car garage and build a new triple. I interviewed several builders and did my homework. Derrick identified issues and solutions others did not. These issues added to the cost, but had we gone with some of the cheaper proposals, we would have found ourselves in trouble. After considering our options digging deeper, it was clear that Derrick had superior knowledge of his business, was honest, a good communicator and was thinking from the customer's perspective. It is a decision we will never regret. From the beginning, the project was run with efficiency and professionalism. From tear down to build and finish - the entire project exceeded our expectations. Our questions and issues were dealt with promptly. The final product is quality all the way from the fine details to the overall operation and look. We are thrilled with our new garage and I get pleasure from it every time I go through the doors. I would recommend Derrick and the Gecko crew to anyone. It was a pleasure working with them.

Derrick did a garage for my parents and they had nothing but good things to say. When the time came to do ours we contacted him as well. I went through about 3 designs before settling on what we built Derrick was very patient in dealing with us and had excellent suggestions on how to make the most out of our garage. Ours was a bit complicated as we dealt with a utility right of way as well as my request to have the ceiling vaulted as high as possible inside. Derrick and his team came up with a design that was fantastic and worked around the utility right of way perfectly. The process was very easy and transparent as he makes the building permit available to follow along and he provides a schedule of events for you to understand the process. The site was tidy and his crew looked after all the site prep including tree removal and cleanup. His communication is excellent and he does what he says he will do. I would highly recommend him.

Working with Derrick at Gecko was so easy. He communicated very well right from the start, sent updates at every step along the way, and didn't leave any questions to be asked. Construction of the garage only took 3 days max, start to finish, and the quality of work was excellent. I will recommend Gecko to friends and family whenever I can.

We were referred to Gecko by our realtor. We had just purchased the house and wanted to add a double car garage. We met with Derrick and between our requests and his suggestions a plan was conceived. He looked after all the surveys and permits, and made all arrangements from tree removal to concrete pour. He gave us a deadline of when the job would be completed and easily met it. I believe total construction time including siding and shingles was approximately ten hours The next day the garage door installer showed up and the job was completed. I work with a lot of contractors in my profession and these guys were great. He only has one crew and he runs it himself. Once they started the job they stayed with it until it was done. I spoke to one of the inspectors after the completion and they said it was first rate. Derrick and his crew were top notch and did a great job for us. Thank you Gecko.
