They build our deck and 2nd story deck. The fence seems to be okay, however we naively had them expand our existing deck. We loved it until we received a notice from the city that we did not obtain a permit to expand our deck and now we have to. We should have known that we needed one but this is our first home and we just didn't know and Toronca never mentioned or suggested we get one. Our deck violated 7 by-laws for the city of Toronto so we had to go to the COA to get these waived. Then after the inspection the sections haven't been correctly secured together with bolts, they didn't use 6x6 posts as cross braces just 4x4's, our overhang/counter-lever was too much, they didn't use the correct size boards for cross beams, and the worst one was that they didn't use 12" sonotubes for the foundation of our main posts. Shame on us for not being more informed when we started but I think a reputable group would have pointed out that we should obtain a permit, check the by-laws, and built the deck to code.
