James Watters came in to inspect my leaky basement. He very quickly found the source and showed me how to fix the problem. I was very happy with James and Canspec, very professional and knowledgeable.

We've used CANSPEC on two different occassions. First when we purchased our own home in 2000 by Tim Purtill.

It was a detailed, straightforward and simple to understand report.

The second time, Tim already retired or moved on to teaching seminars on home inspection (not exactly sure) however the person who did the inspection on our prospective investment property did a GREAT job too. Also, they were available to do the inspection at a moment's notice, and were respectful and patient with us.

With houses, you don't know what's hiding in the dark corners :-) so I highly recomment hiring a real professional company like Canspec.

James Waters was the gentleman who performed our home inspection. Firstly, he was early and already looking around the outside of the house when we arrived. This was a good start and it didn't deviate from there. James was extremely professional and helpful and really helped us make an informed decision on the house. James came himself and provided a 3-hour thorough inspection of our new home. He found both big problems and small, which helped us to negotiate down the price of our house. My HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION To CanSpec Building Services and principal James Watters. My 3 story "mini mansion" is a major "reno" but on a 85 year olde foundation and building footprint... an infill "replacement" house. Although the building is high and appears large the actual square footage of living space is less than 2150 square feet.Canspec was exceedingly prepared, organized, professional and insightful. Mr. Watters addressed the unique aging problems and realistic risks of the as is basement and the wind and weight concerns of a third floor higher than adjacent and adjoining neighbours. Canspec was ABOVE and BEYOND in their service, advice, heads up and helpful directions. I only wish that I had signed up for the pre-listing inspection report.
