Versatile Renovations

Versatile helped us with renovation of two of our bathrooms. Our master bathroom has a weird layout and window placement which worked OK with very popular in early 2000 but not very practical jacuzzi style bathtub which we used to have there and our intention was to replace it with a walk in shower. Problem was that layout and window virtually excluded the possibility to use any standard solution and when it came to the window 2 contractors we talked before simply refused to deal with it. Both started with offering to remove or just drywall over the window and when we replied that this was not an option one just refused to give us a quote and second said he would be able to do a shower but was not comfortable to tile and water proof around the window and at any case would not warrant that part of the job. At that point we decided to only do kids bathroom and that's where we found Versatile. Unlike other contractors who wanted us to wait weeks just to come in to give an estimate, Herb, the owner, came just in couple of days and it was immediately obvious he knows his stuff. To our great surprise in addition to very reasonable (not cheap but fully adequate to what we wanted) quote he also suggested what could be done to our master bathroom and even more important was willing to back it with multi years warranty (including our problematic window).
At project planning stage Versatile was very easy to deal with. Trista provided us with a suppliers list and also let us use they discounts there to buy parts and tiles which saved us several hundreds dollars. As some other review already have mentioned they were OK with us buying stuff from vendors outside of they suppliers list (like Amazon) and this also very much helped to keep project within the budget.
Project was started the day it was scheduled. Team always arrived on time, did a reasonable job to keep site clean. On every step where our opinion would matter we were consulted and in addition Herb made several recommendations which required us to rethink our original plans. Recommendations were very reasonable and we are very happy that we accepted them - results are excellent and we even saved some money (how many contractors will tell you not to spend extra money!?).
Overally we are very happy with projects outcome and for sure would recommend Herb and his team.

Versatile completed the total renovations of three bathrooms and we couldn’t be happier with the results. We appreciated Herb’s experience and knowledge, as this was our first major renovation. He provided valuable feedback and advice to our numerous questions and explains decisions. He wants the customer to be happy and works with you to resolve anything, as he “doesn’t want it to bug you every time you look at it for the next 20 years.”

We wanted a spa-feel to our ensuite and that what’s we got. Herb was meticulous with laying our floor and shower tiles, ensuring everything was completely flat on the uneven floor and walls and that water would not collect anywhere in the shower, including 2 niches and a corner shelf. He was amenable to extra work that was added on, such as the pony wall. Herb and his crew checked-in before proceeding with decisions like direction of tiles, towels bars, etc.

The team arrived on time daily and the project was completed in less time than projected. They were tidy, laying down tarps when they arrived and vacuuming before they left. The cost was competitive, but you're guaranteed quality results and workmanship. I highly recommend Versatile to do your renovations.

We have used Versatile for three projects and all have been great. On the last project some grout was cracking and they came right out to investigate. As it turns out the underlay on this project was used on two others and ours was the third to fail. Even though the manufacturer would not stand behind the product, Versatile redid the labour and underlay at no charge to us. The tile was discontinued so we had to choose a different one

Our house is in Patterson Heights and we recently had our ensuite bathroom renovated by Versatile Renovations. We are so happy with the results and the entire experience. Out of the three quotes, we picked Versatile Renovations because we really like the flexibility they offered. Herb, the owner explained that we could pick our bathroom finishings from any store we wanted. We could even buy it ourselves at Costco and they will only charge for the installation. A lot of other companies will give you a quote with everything included and then you have to use the vendors they’ve picked as there’s usually a profit built into it for them.

Everyone we dealt with at Versatile Renovations was very friendly and responsive. Herb, the owner was very knowledgeable and transparent. Trista and Joey is just so nice to work with. The crew came on time and cleaned up everyday.

We really appreciate that Versatile consulted with us every step of the way. They worked with us on the placement of the shower fixtures, the niche, the tub and mirror to make sure it was exactly where we wanted them.

Our bathroom turned out beautifully and I would recommend Versatile Renovations for any renovations project. They are a company that takes pride in their workmanship, emphasize quality and stands behind their work.

We had our upstairs bathroom renovated for my elderly mother. We switched out the bathtub for a walk in shower and compeletely gutted and replaced the entire bathroom. When all was said and done the bathroom looked amazing. Herb was straightforward to deal with when he came to discuss the project & write up the quote, Trista was very responsive to any questions I had and Mark was professional and friendly while working on the project. We had a couple of issues that needed to be addressed after the project was done but Herb and Trista were quick to handle them once the items were brought to their attention.

We cannot say enough great things about Versatile Renovations. They are reliable, honest and they do great work. They show up for the job on time, they finish the job when they say they will be finished and their quotes are accurate. We won’t hire anybody but Versatile. We highly recommend them to you, you will not be disappointed with this great company!

After getting four quotes from contractors around the city we decided to go with Versatile Renovations for our main and ensuite bathroom renovations and we were not disappointed. Herb and Trista provided us with a fair quote and a reasonable timeframe and stayed within that range with no issue.

Mark was the employee completing the work and was friendly, clean and professional the whole way through. He was even so accommodating to our three little dogs that they felt very comfortable and at ease with him around.

The floor to ceiling reno went smoothly, stayed on track for time and clean up was thorough. We have been so impressed with their work that they are now are go to contractors from here on out and we've already called them back to do some more projects around the house.

The reno was prompted by my desire for a more functional laundry room, which was being impacted by a jut out from a master bath steam shower. They were quick and efficient in getting the areas completed. Love how it turned out!

Versatile was absolutely amazing! We had two bathrooms completely redone on addition to our entrance way floor replaced with tile.
Trista was very responsive to our questions and supported us through the process as we designed our bathrooms.
We were very concerned about undergoing renovations while my wife and I are both working from home but the team on site was very respectful of our situation and were pleasant to talk to.
We are very happy with their work, they cleaned up every day before they left, and even brought in a professional cleaner at the end of the project to make sure everything was spotless before they left.

I contacted Versatile for a quote on a bathroom renovation and, by the time we were finished working together, I ended up with a terrific new bathroom, new kitchen cabinets, and new vinyl plank flooring throughout the main floor. The project was done well and on time.
