Brick Repairs

We used Turnbull Masonry 2 years ago to do some brick repairs to our 135 year old house.
When the job was done we did not think it was done as there were still quite a few unsightly crumbling bricks on the walls but we had already paid more than we originally wanted to.
When Turnbull Masonry was made aware of the fact that we were not happy, they made a big effort to come back and replace the remaining bricks that we wanted replaced in the first place at no extra charge to us.
It is a family run business that cares about their reputation and will make sure that you are a happy customer when they are finished.
Thank you Clint, and family.

Thank you very much for this review Yasmin. It means the world to me that my clients are fully satisfied and happy with our work. After learning about your upset I couldn't sleep until we handled this, now that we have made this right I have been sleeping like a baby. Thank you for your business and it was a pleasure working with you.

Brick Repairs

We used Turnbull Masonry 2 years ago to do some brick repairs to our 135 year old house. There were a lot of crumbling bricks and we wanted to make sure the house stays water tight as well as looking good. Turnbull Masonry's price was in line with other companies we had quote the job. Our biggest mistake was not to look over the contract properly as it indicated the amount of bricks they would be replacing. When that brick count went over because the job was definitely not finished, we were being charged a per brick price.
We felt completely nickled and dimed throughout the entire process. In the end, we were still not happy with the work. Every time I look at the side of our house and see brick dust on the ground from deteriorating brick I am reminded of our very dissatisfied experience with Turnbull Masonry.
According to Clint Turnbull, however, our house was water tight and he assured us that we would not be calling them again.
2 months ago I had to call this company again because there was water coming in to our kitchen cabinetry through a crack above a window. I called Turnbull to arrange for them to come and fix it.
At first I was told that they were just taking off on their summer vacation so I would have to wait a week. I called again after their vacation and Clint came to look at the damage. I was told that it was too small a job for his crew.....after spending almost $20,000 just 2 years before...he did say that his brother could do it for us for $300 and he would be in touch. At this point, after numerous texts and phone messages nothing has been done.
These guys present very well with their red Turnbull Masonry t-shirts and decals on their trucks. They are clean cut, nice young guys. I don't know why we didn't get the service that we were expecting.
One more thing which still bugs me:
Our neighbours also had some work done to their house - minimal compared to our job. Turnbull Masonry asked them to write a review on Homestars which they did and they rated them fairly high except for the price point where they gave them a lower score.
The Turnbull mom called our neighbours the next day and asked them to change their scoring so that they could remain at the top of the list. Our neighbours only did so in case they would have to ask them to do more work for them in the future. It made me think twice about using homestars in the future to look for trades.
And I most certainly will not be waiting for their phone call to repair the part of the house which they obviously neglected any more.
