Roof Repair

Stay away from Amcor. No Service, No warranty, didn't put a pad/paper on, just shingles and ran. Slap it together and run. Avoided my calls for warranty. Never heard from him again. Was quick to take a deposit and then come back when the roof was 1/2 done to ask for more money!!!! Held me hostage with a roof 1/2 finished. This is allowed in Alberta? DO NOT USE AMCOR !!!

No WBC no insurance no morals

This company is a good salesman James has it figured out tell you up front all the things you need to look for and then fails to provide it he operates under the name of three maybe four companies. He does not have validwcb does not have valid insurance the phone number he provided for his insurance company is actually out of service. He is not even a registered contractor as the contractor license has expired he is a scammer and is definitely not out to do the work, makes promises Nd breaks them and never keeps a deadline just becaus he hands you papers that say is he is registered check for your self he is not. When i called and asked for the WBC number they said oh wenjustbhave to go get it and then never did. Designer roofing, amcor roofing and commercial roofing stay away. Also he was at a trade show when I called northlands they said they do not check for WBC etc they said they need to have insurance but don't actually check that either be careful and be investigative before you sign over any cheques

I have insights from old partner in Calgary. Please contact me via threw this web site or twitter. New 35 Year Malarkey Alaskan SBS "Rubber" Shingles Hail Impact Resistant Roofing Product Installed on Older Model Two Story House

We were introduced to this company and their product at a trade show at Calgary Stampede Park. It is an Edmonton company with a Calgary office and representative. My husband was impressed with the "rubber" aspect of the shingles and the product description and longevity. We were looking to have our existing shingles replaced so signed an agreement and set up at time for the project to be done. The crew came on the assigned day. Thye seemed to have a liittle difficulty getting going. The Calgary operation manager came and the difficulties seemed to be sorted out. He left but inadvertingly took some of the roofing tools with him which caused more delays. He returned with the tools and work progressed. It took longer than they estimated and the head of the crew was very apologetic for the delays. On the second day, personnel arrived to begin yard cleanup. That was done satisfactorily. A couple weels later we had our first big rainstorm, we were concerned about the drip edges and the water membrane shield on the valley of the overhang above the porch and our rain gutters were over flowing and backing up. We had requested the roofing crew to check the gutters to make sure they were secure and were assured this would be done. We got up on our roof (two story house and don't love heights) to see if we could determine the problem with the rain gutters. To our dismay we saw they were full of shingle debrie. We were finally able to get all the debrie out and the downspouts working properly. When we had our initial concern, we called the Calgary office twice but although promises were made for someone to come by and check out the problem, to this date no one has ever come. We still have a concern with the drip edge on the edge of the roof on the front overhang. Would not recomend this company. The product appears to be good, time will tell of its longevity but the Calgary office of Amcor Roofing appears to not have enough personnel. We have been very dissappointed by the lack of follow through in customer service. They were very attentive in dropping in to get final payment. We will again attempt to have them come when winter is over to address out concerns.

AMCOR new roof

I would NOT recommend AMCOR, unless you want to be rail roaded into a contract, have your money taken and NO follow up for months at a time. Trying to get my deposit back from November 2011, I'm still working on it. Promises given are never acted on. The entire experience has been a nightmare. No follow up, no service, no satisfaction. DON'T GO HERE!!!

Sunroom

Worst service and workmanship I've experienced from any contracting company we've dealt with in Edmonton. This company told us that ordering our sunroom would take 2 weeks and installation would be one day. After 2.5 months they finally showed up with the pieces to build the sunroom, and arrived to start the work the next week. The installer worked 2 days (for a total of what I imagine must have been 3 hours), and then never came back. What he did manage to accomplish was removing our eaves-troughs so that the water coming off the roof poured like a fountain next to the house, causing a flood in our basement, and glued some kind of track on the deck in which we had to step over when stepping out of the house. When we contacted them numerous times to ask when the installer would return, they told us somebody would be by the next day, or soon. No show. Also, they called us numerous times throughout this nightmare to say the installer would be by that day, or the next day, still NO SHOW. We began to think they had abandoned the project.
When we went to the office of Amcor, we talked to the owner of this company who posted a review on here to let them know how upset and dissatisfied we were. He assured us that he didn't know anything about this, and that he would personally take care of this. He made us feel better, but as soon as we tried to contact him, saying the installer still hasn't shown up, or we are concerned about the flooding, he stopped answering his phone or taking our calls.
It became clear to us that we were not going to get a straight answer from the owner, or any of the staff.
Our contract stated that they would complete the work within 5 months of ordering - so when we contacted them to say they are a few days away from missing the contract installation date, they began to work again. The installer came back finally to finish the work, but did such a poor job, that when he said he was finished - even though we were extremely unhappy with the work, we told him not to come back because we would rather hire a capable carpenter to fix his mistakes than have this incompetent come back.
Do yourself a favor - and stay away from this company!!!

Me and my husband have a rental property in Edmonton, we live in Ontario, and we
called aroundt o many company's,t o get someoneto checko ut the roof, soffits, fascia.
we got into Edmonton and had our appointment the next day and a follow up the next
day, we signed the contract that day with Richard who was very helpful and answered all
our questions,w e gavea deposita nd went backt o Ontario and with in a few weekso ur
job started, do to a few set backs, weather and such we waited a few weeks in between,
The staff at Amcor took pictures and emailed them to me so I could see the progress of
my property, sense I was so far away. It has been about a year now and a few of my
friends and relatives have now gone to Amcor and still everything has been good
regarding workmanship. I would defiantly go through Amcor again for any of our
Reno's.

flat roof re-roof

I would NOT recommend Amcor roofing - very poor quality all around - from workmanship to customer service. I paid Amcor 1/3 of the cost as down payment as they requested.

Amcor was supposed to replace the flat roof of a building between my house and garage ($3858.75 for a roof that is 4.89 m x 3.28 m). They started the job at the end of May and it is not finished yet (beginning of September).

The short story: The flat roof is bumpy and water is pooling (water is pooling where the membranes meet), so I requested that Amcor remediate the poor quality . Further, they removed the 2 bottom rows of shingles of the garage to run the membrane up the slope, but they did not secure the edges of the shingles and a few pieces are missing now - and the garage is leaking.

When I talked to them, Lyle one of the project managers, came over and said that they would fix it (that was in June), but there was no work done after. I followed up with 2 e-mails, but Amcor did not respond in any manner. Because there was no response or any action to work on the roof, I filed an complaint with the Better Business Bureau - and Amcor was supposed to respond to them Aug 28/11 - but has not. The BBB is following up by this coming week - but I have little faith that the issues will be resolved in a satisfactory manner.

I am very sorry I hired Amcor. Based on my experience, customer service does not exists and quality is poor. I give them a fat, ugly ZERO.
