We hired Inveresk to excavate the basement of our small home, to the underside of the footing. Not only did Graeme work around tight areas and around trees, he was also efficient, punctual, clean and responsive. Graeme went beyond his scope of work to make things easier for us. I had other trades doing work, and they also mentioned how impressed they were with his work and asked for his contact info. Rain or shine Graeme showed up when he said he would.

We used Inveresk for multiple jobs quite extensively during our house renovation in 2016. He excavated a large addition in relatively tight quarters, he waterproofed a leaking section of the old basement (very dry now), he installed a new septic tank and provided several landscaping jobs including an armour stone wall. At all times Graeme was a pleasure to work with; professional, friendly, honest and genuine. We wouldn't think twice about recommending Inveresk and will be using him again soon!

I bought a hundred year old house with a stone foundation that was not well cared for. The basement leaked so badly the water flowed across the floor, to an open drain. He came to the property multiple times to access how the water was coming in and what the best plan would be. Trenching around the outside of the house was not an option, so Graeme cut a trench around the interior perimeter and put in drainage pipes and dimple membrane and connected everything to the existing drain. The difference is amazing. I can't stress enough how much thought and care Graeme put into this job. He also parged the exterior foundation walls and made them look 100% better.
I have no hesitation in recommending him. He is skilled, knowledgeable, conscientious and works damn hard.

We hired Inveresk Excavating after seeing the work Graeme Ballantine had done on a friend's property. His attention to detail was evident as not one paver was out of place. He was very creative with his design of our project and we are very pleased with the result. We had an unexpected issue when a large chunk of concrete was discovered under our driveway which he was able to remove. This was not something that a landscaper would have been able to handle easily, glad we hired an excavator for this. Graeme is a very personable man, extremely professional and he completed the job in the estimated timeframe. We would highly recommend Graeme and would not hesitate to hire him again.

Ten years ago I had the front stoop done with stones. Within a year it had settled and many stones were loose and needed constant repair.

Graeme rebuilt the stoop and it is amazing. Not only is it very solid but it looks terrific. He has a gift for design.

Using the removed stones from the stoop he built a fantastic retaining wall that is not only functional but beautiful.

One of the great things about Graeme is that he was always punctual and pleasant to work with. He completed the work on time.

After going through many quotes and people not showing up to do the work we finally hit gold when a neighbour recommended Graeme to us . His quote was in line and a date was given to have completed . We were skeptical given our past difficulties finding someone to actually do the work . Graeme arrived on the scheduled date and completed the work in 2 days . Very thorough and left property clean . A credit to him as it was a very cold and bitter 2 days . I would highly recommend his service . He is a great guy .

Recently we had our front walkway and landing replaced and added side gardens and retaining wall for flowerbeds. Also graded the backyard removing the old wooden deck and ugly volcanic stones. Replaced with stone patio and stone stairs.
First impressions are very important and we knew Graeme was our man from the start. Punctual, professional, very knowledgeable, conscientious and friendly. Always able to provide suggestions and discuss our needs.
Graeme's quote was very competitive with no surprises. He did a great job of clean up as well. A beautiful stone patio, front path with slate landing and retainer gardens attest to his pride of workmanship.

This summer we had Graeme excavate the rear of our home and repair waterproofing of our foundation; water had been intermittently leaking into the basement. After he was sure the water problem had been fixed, he installed a beautiful stone patio along that foundation. When we first contacted Graeme, he came out quickly to inspect the problem and provide a solution and quote. He was such a pleasure to work with. Such a prompt, knowledgeable, friendly, hard working person. Great advice and suggestions. As I work nights, I was very appreciative that Graeme was willing to book his time around my schedule! So happy with the results!

We had Inveresk Excavating Inc. (Graeme) onsite to do carry out a grading of my backyard. I had poor drainage and over the last bit I have been taking on smaller projects each with the goal of improving moisture/drainage. Graeme's quote was very competitive and during our initial meeting I knew straight away this guy was honest, straight to the point and knowledgeable about his field of work. He owns all of his equipment and did a great job of cleanup as well. I would like to also mention that Graeme kindly assisted my neighbor and I with our waterproofing projects we were both doing at the front of our homes. He gave us sound advice, places to shop on the cheap and answered any questions we had. Graeme is a one man show, correction - he brings his certified inspector with him to review all of his work and keep him in line....his little black puppy - very cute! I am sorry I forgot his name.
