On Thursday Aug 3, 2023 I hired New Century Maids (NCM) to do a deep clean/spring clean. I found NCM on Homestars and hired them based on the reviews. My experience was horrible and I want to warn others to stay away. (PLEASE NOTE: I paid $517.30 for this service.)
I left the cleaning crew to do their job. When I got home THEY HAD LEFT MY FRONT DOOR WIDE OPEN. I cant overstate enough how upsetting this was for my family. There have been break-ins in our neighbourhood recently and this comprised the safety of my home and potentially my family. My husband tried to remotely arm our house alarm after they left something weve done many times. He couldnt, so we thought it was a technical glitch. Little did we know that they didnt have enough care and were too much in a rush to actually shut a clients the front door!
This lack of care and RUSH is evident in the INITIAL CLEANING aka DEEP CLEAN package that we purchased and was supposed to be done. I felt this RUSH immediately when they walked in. I knew something was off at the rapid fire speed by which they came in, the length of the cleaning and the results. I was told it would take about 3 4 hours. They were there by 1 and by 3 pm I got the call that they were wrapping up. This didn't feel right for a DEEP CLEAN but I of course gave NCM the benefit of the doubt based on Homestars Reviews.
When I came home I found:
MY FRONT DOOR OPEN
Filthy rags left on my coffee table
Oven cleaning scrapper on my kitchen counter
Toilet seats with hair, soap residue and EVEN fecal stains still on them
Glass shards (something must have been broken) on my kitchen counter
Dirt underneath the diaper genie (why wouldn.t they have moved it and clean underneath it?)
Food crumbs on our couch
Items not dusted
Etc. I can go on and on.
When I let them know of my experience (complete with photographic evidence) they were sorry and said that they could come back and fix the areas missed. But by that time I had a house full of guests so I had to do it myself. They also said that my photos only represented 1% of my home and that 90% was cleaned. They also said that my photos only represented 1% of the house and all else was done. This is also not accurate. I just didnt have the time to continue to take pictures of all the items that were missed before my guests arrived. Additionally, even with photographic proof - they didnt believe that their cleaners left the front door open stating, Our cleaning crew always double-checks and ensures that all doors are properly closed upon leaving. Unfortunately, we are unaware of what occurred between the time our crew departed and your arrival.
I have no vested interest in telling a new cleaning service that their crew left the front door open. This is of no benefit to me. I left the home with the door closed. They were the only ones left in my home. When I arrived they were gone and my front door was open. Plain and simple.
For all of this I paid $517.30. They offered me a $50 Amazon gift card for my troubles. I declined. I simply did not want to be charged for such poor service. Please stay away.
