Anyone buying a pre-construction home should have a professional home inspection in order to make sure your home is delivered to you from the builder in satisfactory condition. Solex did an excellent job for us. Vahn is very thorough and knowledgeable. Appointment easily made, quote was accurate. Vahn is very professional and explains the process and your home functioning very well. The detailed and user friendly report is completed by the next day and emailed to you. This will make dealing with the builder much easier and make sure important deficiencies are corrected. We highly recommend Solex for your home inspection.

This Inspector is the best. Sorry I took so long to write this. Vhan was very professional and thorough. He knows what he is doing. Gave sound advice concerning a property we were interested in buying and what needs to be done immediately. He was so thorough that my real estate agent wanted him on her list of home inspectors - lol.

My wife and I needed a home inspection done within a week. On day 1, we had booked Vahn for the following day. On day 2, he showed up and my wife found him extremely professional and thorough. On day 3, he provided us with a completed and thorough report that was exactly what we needed. He surpassed any and all expectations.

Vahn is a very friendly and professional inspector who appears knowledgeable and capable (from our perspective as non-trades persons). He took his time with the inspection and reviewed all the issues with us as they came up and again summarized them after each level. We would definitely recommend him and would hire him again. Vahn provided my husband and I with a great home inspection recently! He seems to be very knowledgeable. He was very thorough and has a calm demeanor that makes the daunting process of home inspection much more pleasant. He listened to us, answered all of our layperson questions and provided us with guidance. He definitely deserves the "10" rating. After hearing a glowing review of Solex Group from a friend of mine, we recently hired Vahn to conduct an inspection of our new construction home, and we were extremely pleased with his services. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and thorough (he clearly has been doing this for a long time and knows all of the building codes and various home systems inside and out). Vahn arrived right on time, and in total, he spent close to 3 hours doing the inspection, answering questions, and taking notes and pictures along the way. Throughout the inspection, Vahn identified a number of issues (some big and some small), and while we had hoped that he wouldn't find much, we are so glad that he did because we would never have thought to check for some of the things he did. We had lots of questions, and Vahn answered all of them very patiently and even offered us advice on things to look out for in the future. Not once did we feel rushed. He even sent us his inspection report the very next day, which was very detailed and contained pictures taken during the inspection as well as diagrams. This made it a lot easier for us to complete our 30-day Tarion report in a timely and comprehensive manner. For anyone looking for a thorough home inspection from a seasoned professional who offers excellent customer service, I would highly recommend Vahn. He is worth every penny.

Home buyers inspection on Aug 13, 2013. I waited to post as I thought how could I evaluate the inspection immediately after without getting to know the house myself. But now, nearly 3 years later, I can confidently say that Vahn’s inspection back then was EXACTLY RIGHT. He knew the house inside and out and the potential concerns/areas for improvement within only a few hours.

I referenced his inspection report in the negotiation process and it ended up saving me $5k on my purchase price to get the 60amp electrical service and knob & tube wiring to a level that insurance and mortgage companies would accept (heads up that some insurance companies won’t insure you based on some details of the house and without an insurance guarantee some mortgage companies won’t honour your pre-approval). Since then, I use the report as a home maintenance checklist to get planned work done and not to be surprised by unplanned work (which has happened – water pipe froze, cast iron main stack cracked and water heater died, etc… but all were flagged by Vahn in his original report).

Since buying my house I’ve seen friends and even family members go with cheaper or agent recommended inspectors and then been completely surprised after buying the house by the condition and repairs required. There are much cheaper inspectors out there, but my experience with Vahn and actually more importantly the accuracy and thoroughness of his report, are absolutely unbeatable. I couldn’t imagine not having a good inspection given the costs of buying a house and potential surprise repair bills. A little delayed on my review, but thanks Vahn, in my opinion you are a very recommendable professional.
