Dave Marcotte Foundations

This is the second time I used Marcotte Foundations to fix a foundation issue in my house. The first time was in September 2016 when we moved in. The second time was in April 2020 when we had water seepage in the basement. I contacted Dave and, as this was an emergency situation along with the prospect of heavy rain, he came to my house on the Easter Weekend and did the crack injection. There have been no issues since then. Despite the fact it was a long weekend, I felt that the cost of the repair was extremely fair. Also, upon my request, he has referred me to very knowledgeable colleagues of his as they relate to other household issues. In my preliminary dealings with them, they have also been very pleasant and professional. As a two-time user of his services, I highly recommend Marcotte Foundations (which is why he has such a high rating).

Dave provided quick service and an even quicker solution to the leak that I had in my basement ,stemming from a foundation crack. He examined the problem, provided a few solutions, that he felt would solve the problem , provided a fair and reasonable estimate and followed up within a day to solve my problem.

Being faced with a major foundation repair and feeling lost in who to turn to and trust was very daunting to say the least. After getting other estimates and opinions I was still left feeling unsure about who to trust enough to hire. Then I met Dave Marcotte and it was an easy and instant decision. I had a repair that involved a few different trades/areas of expertise. I called this company and although they didn't typically do this type of project, I was told someone would come by. I was pleasantly surprised when Dave came by to check on the issue and he kindly provided some helpful advice on how to approach the project. This advice did not include generating any business for Dave. After challenges finding a reputable company to complete the project, I reached out to Dave and he agreed to take it on. He was prompt with communication and reliable with his word - something I did not find with many other companies. Once Dave was on the project, I found that things moved ahead in a timely manner. The work was done professionally and I was kept informed on the progress. There were no surprises. I am not sure how Dave does it but he was able to manage this small project seamlessly when I am sure he has many other larger projects on the go.

Dave and his team were a pleasure to work with from start to finish! They were competitively priced (best out of multiple quotes) and did a fantastic job as his staff are well trained and have all the tools required to do the job efficiently. Dave took the time to answer all of our questions and walk us through the project step by step as it progressed. They completed a full, all-sides, down to the footing exterior waterproofing and property re-grading alongside interior crack repair and reinforcement to structural engineer specs. They handled all of the other aspects including the structural engineer, HVAC, plumbing and parging, and the final product looks 10x better than what we started with. We’ve had two big rains already this fall and we haven’t see a drop inside since they completed in mid October 2019. Alongside price, we choose Dave Marcotte Foundations because of their reputation and I would highly recommend them to anyone else in Ottawa who is looking for an honest foundation repair company.

Dave was very helpful and responsive in solving a small crack in our foundation. He worked with the structural engineer we hired and provided a quote on the specs that the engineer created. The work was done quickly and professionally. We’re very pleased with the result and would recommend him to anyone.

Q. What's more frustrating than finding water in your basement. A. Finding out that the remedy is an industry full of dIng dongs, happy to waste your precious time and upsell you on services you dont need.

I would give 20 stars out of 10 if I could. Extremely impressed by the excellent professional, efficient and ethical work of Dave Marcotte and his team. They went above and beyond to ensure my expectations were fully met. Excellent communication skills. Pretty hard to find such a great team!
