Furnace maintenance

Avoid this company -- rip-off pricing. A "$99" special offer furnace inspection cost $500. This to replace a $35 flame sensor. A quote for a water heater replacement was at least double competitor offers.

Leak under cabinet

Plumber came out due to leak under sink, said our instant hot water had to be replaced $2000. My husband asked if maybe the hose had a leak rather than the unit plumber didn't know. Husband replaced tubing for$10. Instant hot tank was fine. Rip off, if my husband wasn't home I would have replaced the tank!

Water Heater Replacement

We recently had our water heater replaced and I was very happy with the service. Jim was prompt and helpful. I had to call back later in the day to ask a question about the temperature and they came back within an hour to show me how to fix the problem. They are probably not the cheapest, but they know what they are doing and have excellent service so it is worth it in the long run.

Plumbing Issue

We had someone come in on saturday and he was great. told us we needed a camera and asked for the 500 deposit which we paid for a wednesday camera appt. we got a call wednesday morning after taking time off work to let us know that they'd come by wednesday afternoon. They showed up we paid the bill. They power jetted our plumbing and cleared the clog. We paid for the camera afterwards and they said they'd be back in an hour. They never came back. We called thursday morning and asked and they booked us in for Friday morning. We get a call about 9:30AM Friday Morning -- again after taking off work -- saying they could come Monday 2-6PM. I called and asked for some sort of discount for all my time wasted and they offered a coupon. For being a company that has the slogan "Punctual Plumber" they'd give more discounts for all the times they screw around with their prepaid customers. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone. AND if you have any concerns please just ask for a supervisor because the phone ladies can only read from a script and make you want to jump off a bridge.

Furnace Diagnostic

We were not happy at all with the service. We were told the cost to replace the control panel and the blower motor is around $2500.00. To replace the blower motor alone was $900. But the estimates I got from few other guys was far less than this, it was around $395.00. Ripping money like this is not right. Finally we ended up paying the diagnostic and dispatch fee of $324.00.

"Help" with water leaking

NEVER EVER USE THIS COMPANY!!! I call to this company as I see the rating for their service is a very high. I had a problem with the leaking from the kitchen to the basement and if I add I had a new laminate flooring done 2 weeks ago and going to sell the house, you can imagine the level of stress we had. We had to wait the plumber almost 2 hours and when he came he said he is not going to touch anything before the representative from insurance company will come to see the problem. He said he will fix everything after the insurance company will open the claim, and after 5 mins overlooking the flooding area and 10 minutes talking about the difference between the flood possibility in old city areas and compared different communities where the flooding in basement takes place he charged us $212. He said he is ready to fix our problem right away the representative from insurance company will visit us. He even didn't leave his phone #, and we tried to call to his company again and ask the help. We couldn't reach him for a few hours, and we had to call to another company. They fixed the problem and charged us $168. The Clearview representative sent us agreement and invoice showing gave us the technical decision. NO TECHNICAL DECISION was provided!! When I tried to call to the company asking why they charged me with $212 but didn't do anything, and asking to keep $70 fees but return $140 (I read people complaints when they were charged even for $70). The representative said they provided service(!!), and what they can do, just give me 10% discount for the future plumbing service. I said I fed up with their service, and going to sell house, she said it is just the option they can give. When I asked the the manager, she said she is a supervisor and is the plumber who visited us is a manager!! He was 15 min. in our home, but in invoice he put 48 minutes!! When I asked what's the rates and why they don't place the rate for their service on website, she said she's not going to discuss it with me, though on their website they said:'' We‘re not the guys who tell you that it‘s going to cost $50 then slap you with a $500 bill. We know it happens, but we don‘t do business that way. We never have and we never will. We‘ll come out, examine the problem and give you a quote in writing. You‘ll find that quote reasonable. You‘ll find our technicians clean, polite, thoroughly experienced and true professionals.'' Now I'm going to forward my complaint to BBB and want to advise you DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICE!!! This company was dishonest with me. Hope those money will help them to survive.

plumbing

Clearview Plumbing DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I was not told the flat rate until after the plumber came to my house to do the work. They charge $874 flat rate to install a hot water tank that I already have. Holy crap. Needless to say I declined. There is a lot of other plumbers out there with way better rates. I still had to pay the $70 call out fee just to be told the ridiculous price which they could have told me on the phone when I made the appointment.

Leaking Faucet

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Technician "J" arrived to replace a leaking cartridge on our kitchen faucet. We had the new cartridge, we just needed it installed. There is the mandatory $70 dispatch fee for them to come out (which would be fine, if they sent someone that would actually fix, or aid in the process to actually fixing, my plumbing problem). Prior to starting the work he quoted me an additional $220 to "fix" my problem. This is a total of just under $300 to unscrew my faucet handle, pop out a cartridge, put a new one in and then put it back together (so, completely insane in terms of cost, but I needed it done, so was willing to pay it). Prior to starting any work, however, I had to sign a document saying that the work had been completed to my satisfaction. I said that he hadn't started, why would I sign? He shrugged and said that this was the policy and promised me he would stay all day, if he had to, to get it fixed. Stupidly, I signed. So, then "J" took apart the faucet, claimed that the old cartridge was fine (issue #1: it was not, it leaked!) and pulled up the three lines leading to the cartridge and claimed that there was a leak in the line (issue #2: in reality, when we pulled the lines apart there is no leak, just what looks like a leak when the 3 individual lines are pushed together and there is a gap between two of the lines); He then informed me that I would have to purchase an entirely new faucet as it is all one piece (issue #3; you can indeed buy that specific part separately, as it is listed as a specific part on the Delta part website!). He then could not even put the faucet back together as it was when he arrived, claimed it was stripped (issue #4; we put it back together ourselves after the fact). Then I was expected to pay the almost $300 (as I had stupidly signed to above) for him to come and make my problem even worse (when he arrived, I at least had hot water; when he left I had NO water and faucet pieces all over my counter). He said that it was ok to pay it, as it would go towards the $1300 I would have to pay to replace the entire faucet, which was what was required to fix my problem. I said "no", I would just pay the $70 dispatch fee. In order to do that, however, I then had to call to complain to get the $220 taken off, so at the end of the visit I just paid the $70 dispatch fee, thinking at least it was money well spent to tell me that I had a leak in the line. Two days later we pull it all apart to try and find the leak in the line. This is when we see that there are three distinct lines and NO leak anywhere. We put the new cartridge in ourselves and our faucet is working with NO leaks!! I ask for the $70 back from Clearview as "J" made my problem worse; takes a day arguing with them until they agreed to refund me and would get their admin to facilitate. The admin (who is very nice, and I feel bad that she has to be the person dealing with this) sends me a document that I must sign in order to process my refund, and then I have to wait up to two weeks to receive my refund. I am NOT happy with my service! I do not believe that I was told the truth by the technician, all in attempt for me to pay an additional $1300 to replace a perfectly good faucet. Maybe it is just this one technician, but I have to write this feedback so that the next person is aware of our situation and they can avoid unnecessary costs based upon falsely fabricated information by this company's technicians. Be careful!

Update: I have now submitted paperwork to be reimbursed for the $70 sometime in the next two weeks. As such, I now have had my grievances rectified by Clearview. Thanks Clearview! Look forward to seeing the refund on my credit card sometime in the next two weeks!
