Clear View Plumbing And Heating

I recently had Ben from Clearview out to conduct a plumbing inspection of everything in the house, as part of the plan membership we have with them. He was friendly and professional, and brought to my attention that the hoses to our washing machine were very old. I gladly jumped at the chance to replace them on the spot with new hoses that can't rupture, and I thank him for saving us a possible water disaster in the near future. The cost was low. Clearview always provide great service and I will continue to use them.

So we have a power vented water tank and the controller has failed. I called Clearview Plumbing to have them come out and either replace the controlled or the complete tank as it is about 9 years old.

Clearview sent a plumber over he looked at the tank and came to the same conclusion as I did, replace the failed contolrller or the complete 50 Gallon Power Vented Tank. Here it comes, he gave us three options:

1- Replace with a tankless unit $10,458.00
2 - Replace with 50 Gal Power Vented Tank $4772.00
3 - Replace the gas valve for $1636.00

Are you kidding me, lets gouge the consumer somemore, Home Depot sells this tank for $959.00 and it might take two hours to install and yes the venting has to be upgraded to meet current building code.

So I paid them their $75.00 and asked them to leave. Called Pete the Plumber, he will install the tank and upgrade the venting to meet code, total cost $1950.00. How can Clearview get away with this, they are selling a $950.00 tank for $4772.00 that is a 495% increase.

Had Clearview out to fix a furnace.
Unfortunately due to the ridiculous "diagnosis fee" you feel compelled to continue "some" of the work - but not the outrageous $6K in recommended repairs that is presented before the real issue is dealt with.
Be wary of the iPad as it will have any possible work to be done including the kitchen sink. Prices are extremely inflated. Final invoice has NO breakdown of costs - just a final price total. Had to ask for a detail breakdown...really???

I just want to appreciate Hilary A & Shay E for helping out when i called in. Hilary A. was exceptional, she went all out to ensure that a tech visited my house even though it's well past the working hours for the day after listening to my situation. She did follow up with me with calls until the tech visited my house. Shay E. also was great when he got to my place....and ensured that the drain cleared before he left...... Really appreciated the TWO individual for all the assistance and this is a big 'THANK YOU' from me & my Family to them.

I paid $72 for these guys to come out and give me a quote on replacing the control panel in my furnace. Bottom line they were willing to replace it with the part for $869 after some negotiation.
It sounded too high, so I called a reputable plumbing company from Calgary. I ended up paying $358.50 with the other company. Had I gone with Clearview I would have been overcharged by $500. They also would not refund the $72 initial service charge. I now know who a fair and professional plumbing company is in Calgary and it is not Clearview.

Hi my renter has been dealing with you so I am just guessing blindly as I am out of the country she said that you guys have done a rough job on the outside and you're coming back to fix it and said the cookies were wonderful

In Feb 2015, we had no hot water. Called Clearview as I had a $60 coupon for their service. What a mistake. That $60 'savings' has cost me many times that over in extra costs. Our hot water is sourced from a boiler which also supplies our in-floor heating in the basement. Paul, the service technician, offered three different packages. We choose one for $5,300 to repair the boiler components and by his words we'd be "as good as new". Fast forward one year when they came back for their annual check-up (note this was beyond 365 days, so not within warranty scope). Another $2,900 quote to "FIX" the boiler components once again instead of being corrected under warranty. In addition they had the nerve to go around and provide estimates for an additional ~$3,000 of work. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

ClearView Plumbing & Heating gets full marks right from booking the appointment to the job completion. From our experience we would have no hesitation in recommending ClearView and its people.
