The appointment that we got for a leaking toilet was in about 4-5 working days. The technician came on time and made two estimates: over $700 for fixing the leak (which was a ridiculous price for presumably one hour work and at most $25 materials) or over $1000 for installing a new toilet bowl. After we declined the service, were charged $73 for a visit. By phone, I expressed my expectations that the work should not cost more than $150 (the price for a new toilet), so I cannot estimate phone scheduling system as efficient. The price of a new toilet bowl with a tank starts at $100, and Home Depot installs for $100.

Booking went well - super helpful and good communication on the day to tell me when to expect the plumber. However, the plumber spent three times as long writing up my quote than actually fixing anything. Very very expensive work for 20-second auger in downtown Calgary. Then promised to come back to me within a week with a quote for a new flush mechanism for my toilet. Never heard any more. Avoid.

I called for a quote and I was told it costs 70 CAD for a quote. I said yes and they technician came in spend exactly 15 mins and charged me 230CAD!! No explanation!

The main stack was leaking so Clearview replaced the leaky parts in May 2015. The part they installed is now leaking. They have 1 year warranty on labour and 2 months warranty on parts. They now want $69 dispatch fee to come and take a look at it. I think it is time for a new plumber.

I do not recommend ClearView plumbing. They are unreasonably expensive. I had a tiny leak in a Poly B pipe in an undeveloped area of our basement. They came during regular business hours, not on an overtime or emergency basis. It was a simple fix that took 15 minutes and the bill was $379 after deducting a $40 coupon. This is outrageous. I had explained the leak in detail on the phone when I booked the appointment. I was simply told it would be $69 for the call. I showed the plumber a $188 invoice I had paid for a similar leak fixed by a different company. Why is their price more than double? He committed to have his boss call me back to discuss the issue. I did not receive a call. ClearView has my money this time, but I will never call them again and will be sure to advise all my friends not to call either. I can’t imagine they can stay in business long-term with this kind of unfair pricing.

I DO NOT recommend Clearview Plumbing and Heating. They are dishonest. They took advantage of a situation and charged an inordinate amount for a simple job that should have cost about $200. I called to negotiate and they reimbursed me $90! Very dissatisfied! Will NEVER call on them again.

They refused to provide pricing info on the phone and you must agreed for them to dispatch technician to come for a quote at a fee of $73. Once the technician arrives (almost 1 hour later then primised time), after talking to you about your experience with the drainage block, he will take another 15mins in his truck then comes back with standard options that range from $479 to $1600. All of this could have been discussed on the phone without the need for dispatch costing $73. I paid the $73 and sent the technician home and subsequently found other companies quoting a main drain auger at under $300 on the phone.

Technician was professional and friendly enough, but their pricing is way out to lunch.

Quoted $675 to replace about 6 inches of copper pipe in an easily accessible area. I completed the work myself (someone with zero experience) for $30 and 40min of my time. Unless they charge $1,800/hour for labour (assuming a professional could have completed this in half the time it took me), their estimate makes zero sense. But of course, they only quote as a single line all-in cost so you don't get to see any cost breakdown.

I am disappointed that I even called them and paid the $73 call out fee. Clearview will certainly be my last call when something serious happens and I need a professional.

I noticed that one of floor bolts was loose, when I checked why it's loose I found that part flange ring is broken and not keeping this bolt. I called ClearView, their guy came in and said that he can fix it and he just need to prepare estimate. His estimate was 700CAD for simple job and even he agreed that it's maximum 2 hours in worse case.
P.S. I'm leaving in almost new house, so it's not old rusty flange or case when you need to drill concrete.
