Fibertec Window & Door Group

We ordered from Fibertec about 3-4 months ago and received the completed Windows and Doors. This is a very large order and ordering lots of Windows and Doors there is a chance that something can happen upon delivery. Sure enough there are a few issues with some windows and a Door. Fibertec has been in constant communication with us and is working with us to solve these issues.

We started out planning to replace the 1990's double glazed windows in the family room and dining room bay window with triple glazed. The windows in both rooms were uncomfortable to sit near in the winter. The remaining windows in our home were double glazed vinyl installed in 2012. Roy, Technical Design Consultant invited us to the Fibertec factory as we wanted to confirm color, quality and hardware for ourselves.

After the plant visit we became convinced that we might want the whole house redone. Roy provided us quotes organized in such a way that that we could determine the incremental costs of the additional windows. We went through several iterations and finalized the quotes (300 series). Throughout Roy was patient with us and went to the plant engineer to resolve a casement sizing issue (we have oversized windows throughout the house).

Factory completion was as promised (end of April 2023) and I engaged a local contractor to pick up and install 1st week of May 2023. The windows were well packed for transport.

Our experience with the windows is discussed below:

Quiet - while we live on a quiet residential area, we are located about 1/2 kilometer from Hwy 6 which in the mornings and late afternoons is quite busy and sound does transmit to us. After the Fibertec install, we noticed an immediate difference with almost dead silence in the home.

Summer - our home is south-west oriented thus in mid-afternoon the sun is lower than the eaves and bakes the living and bedrooms necessitating drawing of blinds. We quickly learned that this was no longer necessary for the new Fibertec windows. We have central air but only ran twice in the summer of 2023 (after 7pm) and mostly due to leaving windows and doors open too long as the day warmed.

Winter - 2024 has not been the coldest winters, however our chill issues with the family room (more glass than wall) were resolved. I no longer fire up the family room fireplace 1st thing in the morning as sit with my coffee and the Globe. Our granddaughter can craft in comfort at a small table installed next to the dining room bay window.

I noted that overnight, the house keeps the heat better by 1 to 2 degrees (our thermostat is set to reduce to 15 degrees overnight at 8pm). The upgrade from R 1.5 (double glazed) to R 7.0 makes a noticeable difference in the home.

Why Fibertec?
The above is really just an endorsement of triple glazed vs double glazed windows. In our search for windows, we did take two other quotations from recognized vinyl manufacturers including one uncomfortable high-pressure dining room presentation.

We went with Fibertec on the basis of the additional insulative value of the fiberglass frame and the strength of the fibreglass would provide our 32" wide casements (they were awnings previously and provided little ventilation. Roy, who invited us to the Fibertec plant was also a significant factor in our decision.

Adding to the above - When we installed the family room window (106" x 68"), there were five of us lifting its 550 lbs of glass place. I can only imagine the flex that a vinyl construction window would have had with the resultant loss of sealing and alignment. Thus in hindsight, that experience confirmed we made the right decision to select Fibertec windows. They perform better than we expected and we expect they will last.

We replaced all windows in our home as well as the front door and large patio door with new product from Fibertec as part of a full house renovation. Roy provided expert advice along the way and ensured everything was available on time, as promised. Our installation contractor also commented on how solid everything feels. Research included about 15 companies with quotes, 8 showroom and 3 factory visits. Read hundreds of reviews and many articles about material specifics, manufacturing processes, and company histories. Material resistance course taken 30 years ago at engineering school also come in handy. After analyzing and considering all factors, Fibertec came out a clear winner for a type of project required. They may have a best combination of higher quality/more durable product at a very reasonable price point. While slightly costlier than higher end vinyl windows, Fibertec is very competitive against other manufactures considered in fiber/composite category. Sales process is easy-going, informative, and productive. Not enough stars on review panel, needed an extra one for Roy! All timing and customer service goals were exceeded. Project required some weather-related urgency and sooner completion date. It was achieved ahead of a promised schedule. One window needed a customer related manufacturing adjustment. Fibertec made every effort to help in busy time period. Was able to stay in contact directly with floor production team to receive updates on the process. It was much appreciated that it was done and completed on time. Great team to work with!

I would like to share my experience that went perfectly from buying to the installation of our fiberglass doors. I called several companies to find the most suitable design but when I have visited their showroom and met their sales & office staff, they are very attentive and professional. I am pleased and happy with the overall support that they have provided my from the start till my doors are installed!

After fully renovating our home, and replacing all of our windows (16+ windows, some as large as 12ft wide, some curved and some straight), we couldnt be happier with our fibertec windows. The service was amazing, the windows came out perfectly, and the custom paint was exactly what we hoped for. Our builder was also very impressed with the product.
We have even had strangers come knock on our door to ask where we got our windows from.
Also, compared to aluminum clad windows, we were able to save a significant amount of money.
10/10 would recommend Fibertec.

Great windows for this Canadian weather! Im a repeat customer, love it! Just got these installed and they look great.

I purchased 6 Fibertec windows in 2008, as recommended by my architect. Fifteen years later I am sorry I did so. A few weeks ago the lower sash fell out of the unit and smashed. No one was in the room and the window was not open. This was obviously very upsetting. The person I spoke with in customer service immediately said "that's impossible", basically saying I was not describing what happened accurately. I forwarded the warranty and that same customer service person pointed out that "broken glass" is not covered. I can understand if a baseball hits the window, but this was a catastrophic failure of the unit. So I thought, OK, terrible but I at least I got 15 years out of the window. I'll I need is a lower sash replacement. I asked what would that cost? Surely that would be far less than a entire new unit. No response at all. The fact that this company is uninterested in what is clearly a defect speak volumes. They should have sent someone to inspect the window and find out why this serious event occurred. The window is very heavy. If someone had been sitting in the chair near the window they would have been in the hospital. So, the customer service person was not responsive, abrasive and not interested in what had happened. His whole purpose was to put me off. Which he did. A new Pella window will be installed in a few weeks. I would never recommend this company to anyone, based on my experience with their product, their warranty and their service.

it paid a big dividend to spend the time to researched great product from a reputable suplier like fibertec compared to 3 other manufacturers
