Window Replacement

Moved into my 2009 house in 2013. Within 2 years two of the main picture windows had become cloudy. Durabuilt Saskatoon was the supplier of the windows. They replaced the windows but I had to pay a large portion. Every 2-3 years since different windows have needed replacement for fogging and I have paid with a slight pro-rated discount. Currently there are still over 20 windows in my home that have lost there gas and have fogged. When I contacted them today I was told no more pro-rated and they will no longer install them because the original purchase of the windows did not include installation. I said I would pay for installation and just wanted a quote, but I was told policies have changed and they can no longer help me. Poor windows and poor service.

windows

I so wished I had read these reviews before purchasing my windows.
In 2010 I purchased all new windows from a company in town who buys their windows from Durabult in Alberta. The seals in the windows started 'blowing up' in 2020 and I have been replacing window seals ever since.
Out of the 17 windows replaced, 10 have lost their argon gas. I have friends who have had new windows put in from different companys, BEFORE I started replacing mine, and none of them have had to have their window panes replaced. I would not recommend these windows to anybody, not when there are better ones out there. They blame it on the weather of cold and hot Saskatchewan. They say they are using a better seal on them now. Pffft! My initial purchase price was $17,000 I am waaay past that now, and climbing.

Windows?

Every window in my house is constantly covered in condensation, note- the house humidity is 35% and the thermostat indicated a temperature of 19.5 degrees celsius . At this point I am CERTAIN there is no gas between the panes. There is ice all over our doors and the window creases, the rollers were rusting withing a month of occupancy.

Had I know that Brookfield was using this quality of product I would have asked for plastic wrap instead of windows and purchased my own windows.

A representative was sent to review the issue last year. He added weather stripping which- was missing upon installation and advised drafts from windows ARE NORMAL?

If your builder is using this product, especially sliding windows. ASK FOR A DISOCUNT BCAUSE YOU WILL NEED TO REPLACE THEM. I have added window insulation which works a bit better but the frames are cracking and have been since last winter.

I see them "storing" another projects windows outside for over a month and a half. its winter. In Alberta. superfantastic.

We got quotes from other 3 manufacturers ... upon inspecting the current product, all three reserved their comments, other than the quality is insufficient and sizes are not appropriate (which is the builders influence here).

If your house has durabuilt negotiate. You will need the money you negotiate to replace the product in your house. I never leave reviews but I had to this time there is so much more that wouldn't fit in the allowed space.

Seal in window, now over 12 fails!

Bought all our windows and doors through Durabuilt. Had 11 windows fail, all got cloudy, moisture. Had to pay labour costs to have replaced. Now, another of the windows that was replaced, CLOUDY! Went to close kitchen window the other night and metal hand crank literally just broke apart. This is innovation? Excellence?

Not a good view

Replaced most of the windows in our home. We had many issues with the patio doors we also replaced. They attempted to resolved the product issue but never came up with a satisfactory solution. Fast forward a couple of years.... the seal broke on our picture window. The cost for "labor" was $500 +even though it was under warranty, that was about half the cost of the entire window. Reluctantly I paid for the repair and now the seal is again broken, but it is outside of warranty and I am stuck looking at a hazy view of my yard. I also have two bedroom windows that the seals have now gone on and have Frost imprints on the inside that are not accessible to clean. THIS IS A HORRIBLE PRODUCT AND COMPANY their products are awful and their service is even worse. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY.

What a Pane

From moisture between panes to crank assys. breaking with little use. Now the "Plastic yes PLASTIC " cladding on our entrance door is fractured in several places. But wait it gets better, the local business that carries their so called line looked at it said they've never seen plastic cladding on a door before. Any ways they (Durabuilt rep) came and looked at it and said they will be back in a couple of weeks to replace it........so a couple of weeks later they said they will be here in a few days to replace it. I asked for a quote and finally received it but now they want us to pay before hand and will not honor their COD or cash option of payment which is stated on their quote. (pay now and we'll get around to it mind set) Pretty bad. So if you want to deal with a company that does not honor their own documentation try these guys, they're quite the pieces of work. Even FB doesn't work on these guys!

Window & Door Renovation

Worked with Steve (Sales Consultant) & Glen (Intaller) on our multi-phase renovation of our 1960's Bungalow. Due to costs we took care of this over 3 years and Steve & Glen were here for us since day 1.

Our home is not the largest house in Edmonton, but we were treated like VIPs from beginning to end. I was left feeling like there was no project too small to be treated with the up most care and attention of the Durabuilt Team.

Big problems with this company

DO NOT BUY WINDOWS OR DOORS FROM THIS COMPANY
When I built my house 10 years ago, I purchased all Durabuilt windows and doors. After 10 years, 5 main (living room and dining room) windows and our glass pane door had moisture between the panes. Durabuilt replaced them, but charged me over $1,000 (for labour-1/2 hour for the replacement by 2 men). Now 1 year later another twelve windows have moisture between the panes. The windows are not sealed properly, and I have been advised that this may happen if cheap/defective sealer is used. Durabuilt confirms there is a 20 year warranty for sealed windows but moisture between the panes should not happen if a window is manufactured correctly, which ours obviously are not.
I am very disappointed - I would give them 0 stars if I could. Would not recommend.

Exterior doors

Do not deal with this company. I would leave zero stars if possible. I ordered two exterior doors back on October of 2021. I was told I would receive them in 12 weeks at the most. I arranged for them to be stained 16 weeks after I ordered them to allow for delays and I had a quote for installation and had it booked for another 6 weeks after the staining would be completed. My doors never arrived until middle of July 2022 despite several attempts to communicate with them and get information about my doors. I was informed that I would not be charged the full purchase price as compensation for the delays but they still charged the total amount before they delivered them without informing me. When they finally arrived, they were left outside my home with no communication even though they knew I was at home for the delivery. There repeated delays ended up costing me more than the purchase price for the doors to get them stained and installed after the fact. When I was able to get a hold of someone to deal with the issues I was originally informed I would be refunded 25% off the purchase price and this was later reduced to about 7% for no reason. Now I cannot even get someone to respond to me. Just do yourself a favor and deal with another company. They do not stand by their products, service or promises.

Window Replacement

Our experience with Durabuilt was mixed we had to go through a lot of people in order to get the job completed it was a lot of back and fourth which was extremely frustrating but once the right people got involved the issue was resolved.

We did want to say that the crew that came to replace the windows Bozho, Danny, Rendel and Adrian were awesome! Bozho and his crew work amazing and efficiently together! We also want to add that Bozho is awesomely awesome and he made this process a lot less stressful that we expected and he made sure to leave our home clean. I highly recommend more than 10/10 if anyone needs to get any work done by Durabuilt make sure to specifically ask for BOZHO you will not be disappointed!
