Northrup Homes

Our experience with Northrup has been incredibly frustrating, and we strongly advise against using their services. Communication from the beginning could have been better, with weekly updates consistently delayed by two to three weeks past the estimated completion date. Work reported as finished was often found to be incomplete, such as the house's exterior, which was only fully completed just weeks before closing.
Despite initial setbacks with obtaining the setback certificate and WAWA site visit, we were given assurances of a mid-November closing date. However, the reality was far from it. After enduring numerous delays and unmet promises, we only took possession of the property early in February. Upon moving in, we were confronted with many issues, including mould in the basement due to improper exterior siding installation, poorly installed basement windows, inadequate roof venting, inadequate shingling and metal installation on the roof, and numerous structural deficiencies.
As an example of the issues we are currently dealing with, upon investigation by Maple Leaf Homes (who were professional and delivered high-quality work, going up and beyond), the problem with the improper installation of siding and mould in our basement was due to the house wrap having a visible 8" circumference hole in it. It was not fixed, nor was the area weatherproofed before installing the siding.  As a result, the water came from the front of the exterior of the house, ran down and across the floor joyces and dripped on the floor. Mould was present inside the house in the basement, as well as the plywood of the house's exterior. The insulation on the house's exterior and plywood was saturated entirely in water, stripped, and replaced by Maple Leaf Homes.
It is now May, and we are still struggling to resolve these issues, with little to no communication or accountability from Northrup. They consistently overpromise and underdeliver, leaving us to continuously follow up and provide documentation to support our requests for repair.
In summary, we strongly advise against working with Northrup based on our ongoing struggles and challenging experiences with their lack of communication and work quality.
