My basement floor drain backed up six months ago.. I had a plumber come in and 'snake' it - w/ a camera inspection
- for just under $500. Everything was working fine up until recently when it backed up once again. This time I thought why not get the drain flushed once and for all...flush out all of the debris built up during the past 100 years (century home). I called around for some quotes, which were quite expensive - some asking for up to $1000 for a flush job. During my search I stumbled upon a hidden treasure: WM Groves. They quoted me very, very fairly for a flush job w/ post camera inspection. So, I decided to go with them. They came in, flushed the drain and followed up with a camera inspection. It turns out that there was a significant build up of grease just passed the back water valve. Pre and post appointment communication was good; they ended up emailing the invoice to me - with final results - which I appreciated. WM Groves is a hidden gem in the city of Hamilton and I'll be sure to use them going forward for all drain snaking and flushing requirements. Thanks again.

Called if they can fix and or replace a septic pump that isn’t working. Told me that it would be no problem and they’d come and fix it. They showed up and spent 2 minutes looking at the pump and deduced we needed an electrician because they don’t do the electric. So why tell me they would be able to fix it or replace it only then to just drive out and not be able to do that unless it was a plug in. Company didn’t disclose properly what they could or couldn’t do. Because of that I paid for one hour of service to know what I already knew which is pump doesn’t work. They are rude and condescending. Use this company at own risk. Lawyer said I could take legal action but in the end the time and effort to hold them accountable wasn’t worth it to us. Terrible.

Call in morning due to sewer back up for an agreed afternoon appt. All questions answered: re: price, est timeline to do the job, and time: afternoon job with a 20 min. lead phone call. All agreed, no need to call another service. 4pm call . After 3 yes answers to their questions technician dispatched. BUT then the representative says this: BTW any time it takes AFTER 6pm is double time is that o.k. ? THIS NOW? REp couldn't give me the stats on length of time, % that goes outside 1.5 hrs BOGUS to tell me this now! I ask to speak to owenr, 'someone' comes on phone doesn't identify themselves. They think this is giving me proper notice. What happened to telling this on the morning call? Absolutely NO regard for the customer. After 45 min. they still didn't understand the lack of courtesy, and proper protocol or my angst, and then pulled this: " Over 90 yrs. and you are our first complaint " ... NEVER ! They are horrible, ! my time $50 WASTED. I quickly went online for reviews and saw they are Horrible !!!!

Their office staff have it wrong. They expect their customers to appreciate bad service and not complain.

A simple service that should not require an endless discussion, seems to stop them on their tracks.

We paid $150 for our drains to be unblocked. We were quoted $1600 for the same solution from another company. I am awaiting an explanation from the expensive one before I name them but a great service guy (ask for Tim - he’s awesome) prompt response (8 hours) and constant updates if requested.

Fast service in emergency situation. Fantastic service man. Polite, a great sense of humour and very thorough. They have done a great job every time I called them for our buildings. And the price is more than fair.

We had a flood in our basement. Tim Cook from WM Groves showed up and right away he stopped my wife from stressing with his professional manner . He had the problem fixed in no time and the price was great. WM Groves will be our first call in the future and will recommend them to friends. Once again thanks Tim for a great job.

October 11/16 used W.M Groves for excavation services for the installment of a cistern. 21 walkway patio stones were destroyed by their truck. Were told on the day of excavating by the crew, including the lead hand Reno that when we received our bill to advise the office and they would deduct the stone replacement cost of $249.72 from our bill. I requested the bill numerous times by phone. We did not receive the invoice till Feb 25/17 at which time we did as instructed by their crew and requested the cost of the damaged stones be deducted from our bill. Jennifer and Sandy flat out refused to cover the damage that their truck caused. We are appalled at the treatment we have received from this company. Apparently the customer is not always right at WM Groves! We do not recommend this company to anyone.

I am a builder's daughter. My Dad was an artisan, Eastern European and he believed that any jo worth doing needed to be a job well done. And so, I have high expectations of people who do work for us!

We recently had an issue with an important drain by our back door.

Will Groves himself promptly came to check it. And just as promptly, he sent Peter out. Peter did an amazing job. Meticulous, thorough, careful, and neat. He was also pleasant. He told me as he went along what he was doing and I know that he also conferred with Will so that the best solution was found for us. And he cleaned up well after he was done, too. We were both very impressed. It now looks handsome and properly done.

We want to share, too, that we find Will Groves to be a man with a
great deal of class and a man of impeccable ethics. We have also
found his staff to be both friendly and professional.
