Fireplace Cleaning

Have used them for 6 years for cleaning and normal maintenance of a gas fireplace. Always good, but gone badly wrong this year. Fireplace was working fine, just needed a cleaning of glass and gas ports. Approx. $200 for service call. Tech came to do the job, but later that day fireplace was only working intermittently. Would shut off on its own, or make unusual noises. Called for tech to return next day, at no cost. Tech returned, spent a couple of hours but very unconvincing that the problem was fixed. We left a few days later on travels, and when we returned, the same problems continued. Called once again, asking for a more senior tech. He came, suspected a new pilot assembly was required, and offered a quote. We then received a second invoice for same amount. I questioned why we were being charged, given it seemed more than a coincidence that the problems started after the first tech visit. We asked for a discount or a service guarantee, but were told that there service guarantee is only 30 days and that we were already getting a discount based on the hours spent.
So, first visit to cause a problem.
Second long visit to not fix the problem.
Third visit to diagnose a different problem.
I have found a different supplier going forward.

Horrible service after sales

We recently purchased all of our appliances from Rocco at the Stoney Creek location. Sales was fine but the service after has been an absolute nightmare with no end in sight. The following has happened:

1) Could not confirm whether or not the range would be available, despite promising that it is available.
2) Rescheduled deliveries twice - including rescheduling the day of.
3) Took two deliveries to move the fridge.
4) Incomplete installation of the hood - citing a missing bracket.
5) Did not install washer properly - getting an error code on a brand new machine.

Throughout all of this, we were told repeatedly that customer service would contact us to resolve the issues. Quite the opposite. We've had phone customer service numerous times, getting transferred between delivery and installation, given the run around each time. Latest news is that they would contact the manufacturers to get them to send technicians to resolve the remaining issues. Customer service would not escalate and did not give us any timelines. As it stands, there's no resolution and we are left to keep chasing down customer service to get updates, if any.

After spending $12,000 for all new appliances, this has been completely unacceptable after sales service. I would never shop at Goemans again and would not recommend Goemans to anyone.

Purchase of top end Whirlpool Washer Dryer

On the 21st of November 2015 we walked into the Goemans store in Woodbridge, ON. and purchased a top of the line washer dryer. The salesman was Peter Di Carlo. We contracted to have the existing units removed and the new units installed in their place. This was all done. when the units were tested, they found out that the dryer made a terrible clanging noise. We told them that we wanted the unit replaced. The installers indicated that we need to talk to the store. we called our salesman who in turn said that he would contact customer service. Customer service called us a few days later and told us that they would have to send a service technician to assess the unit. We insisted that they replace the dryer. No, it must be evaluated first. On December 1st, the service tech from Aim Appliance Service showed up, he concluded that the unit was damaged and that the body frame was scraping the drum. He indicated that he would have to order parts. We again insisted that they replace the unit. Goemans inisits to this day that this is a 'warrantee' issue. We insisted that transportation damage is not a warrantee issue and that they replace the unit promptly. The replacement, apparently is a three day event!! we told the Goemans customer service person that we cannot loose three days work to stay home waiting for the replacement. To this day (Dec. 19th) we still have a damaged unit with all the plastic wrap still on it.

Purchase of appliances

I would strongly advise not to deal with this company at all costs. We purchased all 5 major appliances here. We were talked into purchasing extended warranties, which were suppose to have a useable dollar value if the extended warraranty remained unused. At the end of the warranty period the company would not honour the cash value of the extended warranty. They changed the terms of use despite repeated meetings with their management. We were unable to resolve the issue and lost about $700.00. Really poor customer service.
