Brent has been my "go to" roofer for over 20 years.I recommend him to all my friends. Hi is a perfectionist who does an excellent job and keeps a clean worksite. You won't regret using him.

We recently moved into our house and have had a problem with falling cedar shakes. Brent diligently investigated our roofs problems, took lots of photos, and explained to us that our entire roof would eventually need to be replaced because of poor original workmanship. We explained it was not currently in our budget for a full roof replacement. Without placing any added pressure on us, he was willing to do maintenance work on our roof at a very reasonable price, and is willing to continue to help maintain our roof until we decide for a full replacement. He was very timely with his work, and did a great job at replacing our fallen shakes. Our roof is in great hands with Brent.

We described to Brent the look we were after for our backyard oasis, and he completed the focal part of our yard,he worked very efficiently and quickly,kept a clean jobsite and we would recommend this roofer to our family and friends,thanks Brent for a job very well done!!!

Brent takes ownership of his roofing projects, and in the end he sees each as “his roof”. He called this winter to make sure the roof was undamaged and withstanding the storm.
As with many Heritage houses there are issues and advantages that require in depth knowledge of the craft. Brent is very experienced and knowledgeable regarding cedar roofing materials, their installation and their aesthetics. He is rigorous about proper roof infrastructure including venting and water protection.
Brent was very particular about the authentic integration of the new roof with the original components and details of the house. He supported us in all aspects of the job from start to finish– (though he doesn’t like to paint).
I would not hesitate to recommend Brent in the future.

We were looking for cedar shingles for our walls to be done with the care and design of the past when craftsmanship was the rule. After researching for an extended period of time, we found Brent at Upper Canada Roofing. The end result was even better than we could have imagined.

Firstly, Brent is committed to doing things right. He also will take the time to notice if there are any other problems with your house - particularly when it comes to keeping the water out. He found a couple of issues left by some previous trades that would have caused us big problems down the road. We were able to fix them before they were an issue.

Most importantly Brent is a craftsman and an artist. This is so rare in today's world. He is able to take design ideas and add his own flair and attention to details.

If you want a quality job done, he is your man. If you want artistry and craftsmanship with cedar shingles on the wall or the roof, he is at the top of the industry. We are glad we found him and so pleased with the results. 10++. We get people stopping on the street to comment on how much they like the work and design.

In the photos, the front has had two coats of Flood solid stain. The back has had only one. We will be applying a second coat to the back in the spring. Both look good depending on what you like.

This is a continuation of Victoria's review below … we are the neighbours ... As she said we loved the work that Brent did for Victoria and we couldn't be the ugly house attached to theirs! Brent is more than a roofer he is an artist. Very meticulous at what he does everything has to be perfect. And he goes out of his way to make sure everything is done right. We knew when he started that there would be things he’d find in our 100 year old house but I wasn’t expecting it to be as bad as it was. The roof which we had done 5 years ago wasn’t done right… to say the least. There was water damage everywhere. Brent found mushrooms growing in the rotted wood!! Well Brent to the rescue. He got on the phone and had one of his roofing buddy’s and they went at it and ripped it off and did it again. At a very reasonable price!! And of course he did the extra stuff that will make it rain proof for a while. He found us a painter because I wasn’t going to climb up there to stain and paint … they also did a great job. Brent worked with Tara on the pattern she wanted and he made her vision better than we could have imagined. I still see people walking by the house stopping and looking at his work. I think he’ll be back in the hood soon. I doubt our neighbours will let our houses be the two best looking houses on the street for long!

Brent of Upper Canada Roofing completely re-did my cedar roof in a 1940's "arts and crafts" style home which also had a cedar roof before. His knowledge about cedar and roofing in general is vast and he takes time to explain what he's doing and why. He always wants to show his previous work and also other roofer's cedar work to compare. He is easy to get a hold of and always arrives on time. If something comes up, he will call and not leave you hanging. He also fixed a small portion after it was damaged by wildlife a few years later. He doesn't take shortcuts and wants to be contacted if any issues ever arise from his work. I need some wood siding work done and he will be the only person I will contact about it since I know it will be done right and for the right price.

I asked Brent to install a downspout according to the Mandatory Downspout Disconnection regulations affecting my home. Not only did he install the downspout marvelously, he drained it into a newly purchased rain barrel, he inserted an electrical cable to keep the downspout from freezing (it froze last winter after only 1 1/2 years) and worked tirelessly to ensure not a single water drop leaked. I highly recommend Brent not only for downspouts but also for any roofing projects.

Brent was working on our street for numerous other homes right at the time that we developed 2 leaks, one in our flat roof and one on our back slant roof. I was panicked, as we certainly weren't budgeting for a new roof and 3 quotes told us that we had to replace both roofs, costing between 5 and 9 thousand dollars. In the end, we know replacement is inevitable, but, with a baby on the way, we wanted to delay this, and not spend a lot now. I approached Brent down the street when he was working one day and he popped over after he finished. He and my husband chatted for about two hours, and my husband was able to fix a few things himself based on Brent's direction. That got us fixing a few minor things, but with the next heavy rainfall e were in trouble again. We were out of town when I called Brent in a panic, and he said that he would get to our house and tarp things off to withstand the storm that day. My husband managed to meet him there, around 1 p.m. and from there it was amazing. I think they were on the roof until 9:30 p.m. fixing and troubleshooting every issue they could find. He and my husband worked and worked tirelessly, and only asked for coffee along the way :) He brought everything we needed and made every possible fix that allowed us to solve our roof for at least the next year, two or three...we will see! While he was up there he even cleaned out our eaves troughs which desperately needed attention. He charged as a price that was more than fair for his services. We have had a few rain storms now and have had no issues, so feel very confident in the outcomes. He wants to fix one more thing, so wants to come back next week to get that done - and that is just the way he is; he doesn't cut corners and wants to do the job right. He is thorough in all of his work, and works tirelessly to put my mind at ease....which is hard to do.

I would recommend Brent to anyone. Having called many many many companies searching for one to use....I was faced with over estimates, no call backs, defaults to the most costly solutions, etc. Brent was such a lucky find.

In the mean time, he asked us to let him know the gender of our baby, and was thrilled to get my text with the news. In addition, he texted tonight after the wicked storm we had, just wanting to ask how things were going with the roof, and to remind us we can call anytime with issues and he will be here to help.

An absolute pleasure to work with. Would recommend to anyone.
