This review should serve as a precaution to anyone who is looking to hire Sure-loc Interlocking Mississauga due to an extremely poor and botched job that they have performed on our property at Oscar Peterson Blvd, Mississauga.
We hired them in early April and their salesman Paul S signed us up with his smooth talk and big promises that job will be done within 2 weeks with perfection such that our property will look like the houses in catalogues that he paddled with him.
In fact we have now found out that they overpriced us by almost $10,000. The work was done by the team headed by Scott who has not even once called us to go over our concerns.
Well, it has turned out to be a nasty experience of schedules not met, products used not as per agreement, basic interlocking standards violated, and non-existence of any customer service at every level.
For past one month, we have sent them several emails to Paul and Ron (owner) and several text messages and phone messages for Paul. They have not replied to any of the emails, have ignored our last messages and phone calls. We don’t know where we stand with them as the job is not done yet and they have our money. We are listing some of the problems (as there as so many that we cant end) below:
A. with respect to scheduling:
job was supposed to be done by mid April and we had agreed all the schedules so that we could take days off work to be home. It turned out that job is still not finished, they came at their will - on days that they were not suppose to be (so none of us were home). And this happened for excavation, interlocking and fixing up schedules. The work is not over despite it is almost a month. They haven’t finished our front porch and steps. We have now found out that the job they promised on the front steps is not even doable based on the way sure-loc advised. In fact we feel lucky that they haven’t done the front step and porch job as it would have fallen apart in few weeks and we would have left with massive costs and ugly front.
B. with respect to the product,
they have used extremely poor qualify of bricks, sand, and soil. Bricks are chipped, poorly cut, and are not the type that we agreed. Filler sand is missing from all the major joints and soil is so poor that all the green areas are full of weeds already in 2 weeks. See pictures with weeds, broken bricks etc. The side walls and top of posts were supposed to be of much better quality and style. And moreover, they build one wall on our neighbour’s property.
C. From work point of view:
water is already accumulating on patio and it is only 4 weeks old. God knows what will happen when it will be a year old. They did not align the bricks, left gaping holes between them. In fact my neighbour commented that it seems that this is a free job done by an enemy. See pictures. There are no mesh under the rocks and gravel so weeds are coming out already. Water is already accumulating as leveling is not proper. Worst of all, the whole job is so poor that we have not a single area that is level and looks nice. In fact, one of my kids friend was about to get hurt as he stumbled on an uneven brick formation in our backyard.
D. Poor customer service.
worst of all is that despite them acknowledging that the job they have done is not up-to-standard, they have not done anything as yet to fix it. Given us more dates that never met and are now pressing us to pay the balance.
E. with regards to their 2 years warranty:
it is ridiculous as our neighbour who hired them last year told us that they have called them several times to come and fix a sagging driveway and all they get are promises and more promises. No actual work.
We are at loss what to do, however, don’t want anyone to get stuck with this joint called sure-loc. Avoid them at any cost.
