This was my fourth move with Rent-a -Son, and there's a reason I keep coming back to them — every member of their team that I've encountered has been friendly, professional, and an expert at what they do. This move was no exception. The team was incredibly efficient and kind, attentive to special instructions for delicate items, and highly adaptable and creative when it came to resolving unexpected hiccups that came up.

Amanda has been my Moving Coordinator for every move I've done with Rent-a-Son, and she's always been fantastic to work with. She knows exactly what to ask and how to guide someone who's going through the exciting but stressful process of moving.

The moving crew this time was made up of Junior, Jowel, Eero, and Amog, and I can't thank them enough for everything they did! Their incredibly hard work and expertise made a big move go as efficiently as possible. And their adaptability really saved the day — when we got to the new place, the truck was too large to fit behind the building, but they were able to come up with a creative solution to make it work. And even at the very end of a loooong day with extra challenges, they were still so kind, courteous and friendly. Thank you so, so much, team! You are the best!

John, my moving coordinator, was friendly, informative and approachable right from the beginning. He answered a lot of questions and was always easy to reach. Rent-a-Son provides the most detailed estimate of any of the movers I approached about my move. The moving team itself was hands down the best moving crew I've ever worked with. They hustled from start to finish, were very strong and hard working. All three of them had great attitudes and a sense of humour (helpful on a move day!). The final cost came in under the estimate, which was a welcome surprise. You cannot go wrong booking your move with this company!

I found Rent-a-son and its long distance moving agent, Amanda, very responsible and reliable. She followed every step and ensured that my moving would be as smooth as possible. She answered every call and mail promptly and precisely. She even managed to refund the money for the service that I did not used. Thank you Amanda.

I have used RAS several times over the years for small, local moves. The most recent move was easy to schedule, the estimate was provided quickly, and response to online forms and questions was by phone and prompt. My team this time was John who coordinated the move, Oriki and Tristan who handled the move with care. I appreciated punctuality, efficiency, courtesy, reliability, and respecting the quoted cost (no surprises). I will continue to use this company in future and recommend to others.

I just wanted to say THANK YOU to the rent-a-son team for helping us move home. Thank you to Rob who helped us co-ordinate the move overall from start to finish. I want to especially say thank you to the Jack, Olamiji and Jakeem who helped with the move. They were incredibly helpful, respectful of us as a family, our home and everything in it. Do not hire rent a son! They lost part of my shipment, boxes arrived ripped open, multiple items were damaged and they have the worst communication I have ever encountered. The long-distance coordinator takes over a week to respond to emails and does not communicate timing or details of shipment arrival. I was given 12 hours notice before my belongings arrived despite being promised at least 24 hours. They promised I would be kept in the loop as to the arrival of my belongings and this was absolutely not the case. They advertise careful packing to protect larger items, this did not happen as damage occurred and their response to this damage was “this sometimes occurs”. This entire process was extremely frustrating and upsetting. This is a very poor quality and unprofessional company. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, they do not respect your belongings or your time.

Rent a Son was one of many movers I got in touch with for the move. Took a chance and have no regrets. We moved 2 households in the same truck to one location. It couldn't have gone smoother. Amanda was the coordinator on the job and she was the best. The great mover team was efficient on both ends. The dogs loved them too! 100% would use them again.

We were recommended Rent-A-Son by some friends who used them and had a great experience as well as a former worker who worked there in their earlier days. Sadly ours was not a great experience.

Getting in touch with them for an estimate was a trial. They would not respond to emails for weeks. This should have been a red flag.

Day of the move, the movers are 40 minutes late, they called one of us, didn't mention they would be late, and said they would call the other person who was on site at the time. They never called. Had we not booked extra time to move out we might have run into a logistical pickle.

Upon arrival we learned that the Warehouse gave their truck away to another team, so they have a truck that is too small for our job. They resolved to moving things to the loading area until a replacement truck can arrive. When the other truck arrives the too-small truck almost didn't turn over to get out of the way. Luckily it did and we never had to see that truck again. Hopefully it's not being used for any moves anywhere.

They finished loading the truck from 2 sites at 3pm, said they'd get food and then head to the drop-off location. In Toronto traffic at 3:30pm we thought for sure they'd just be an hour or so, as that's what it was for us to drive from one location to the other. They call us at 5pm, they are only leaving Toronto now, as the Office called them to run a side job. Turns out there was another job at Ontario Place who got too small of a truck, and our movers, on our time, had to go to Ontario Place to pickup the excess moving blankets. So now they're leaving Toronto at 5pm during rush hour. Not even sure if they had a chance to eat yet. They logged the one hour or so as a break to try and make sure that we wouldn't get charged for it, but I think in the end we still paid more for the extra time it took for them to travel during rush hour.

Our movers arrived after 6pm, get everything unloaded into the house and are done just after 9pm. Only one thing was slightly damaged, a desk made of particle board, which is good! Particle board is weak, and we have a lot of it.

The head mover was more upset about the run around the company had been giving us on our moving day than we were, and I get it, he's the one who's getting screwed when they give his truck away and make him 2 hours late to a dropoff site. The movers themselves were great, the office/administration is the real issue.

quote came in with a delivery window and rate per 100 lb. I am writing this the day after the delivery window has closed and still have not received the delivery or have an ETA. In addition, the final invoice came in with an increase in the rate per 100 lb with no explanation, discussion or agreement. After asking to honor the initial quote was told no, again with no discussion.
