Our driveway was falling apart, and our retaining wall was crumbling. We contacted Nortown, and we received friendly, informative service, and a contractor was out to my location the next day. They provided me with an amazing quote, as well as references so we can talk to other client's who also use Nortown Paving. The work was completed fully, in a very professional and timely manner. Nortown followed up to see if we were satisfied with our repairs, and offered help if we needed it. Friendly, reliable and a hard working company.

Reasonable quote and work was completed as discussed. Sam provided great alternative designs ideas (which we incorporated) to ensure the project costs were minimized. His team was prompt, considerate and professional.

Silvano and his crew did an excellent job replacing our asphalt driveway, and even took care of a few extra things. The quote was fair and the job was done on time. Very happy with how it tuned out and would highly recommend Nortown.

Along with our neighbour, we began looking for a company to re-pave our driveways. We had several companies come out and quote us on the job. We met with Sam one weekend and he took the time to explain the process and gave us great design ideas. The quote we received was mid-range of all the quotes however we felt confident that Sam and Nortown Paving would deliver a great finished product.
We had originally scheduled the job for the beginning of August but we received a call mid-July saying that they could come and complete the driveway. We were away at the time but Sam said that he would take care of it and ensure that everything went smoothly. During the excavation, they removed an old tree stump buried between the two neighbouring driveways. The stump and root system were a little larger than predicted. They filled in the area and compacted it however did not want to compromise the integrity of the driveway so they recommended that we wait a couple weeks and let the ground firm up even more.
Right on schedule, they returned to complete both driveway and were done in a few short hours.
The driveways look amazing and we would definitely recommend Nortown Paving to anyone looking at getting their driveways done.

Our driveway is 16 years old and it is a good size (I can park 8 cars) and is showing wear and I wanted to have the driveway replaced.

Based on Homestars reviews I called a few companies for quotes and Marc came over the next day to provide a quote. Marc is super friendly and easy to work with. I was thinking of either just replacing the asphalt driveway or doing additional paving stone work around the driveway. Marc gave me some very good recommendations and provided me with a quote for replacing the asphalt driveway alone or the asphalt driveway along with a paving stone soldier course along each side. Marc also encouraged us to get other quotes so that we would feel comfortable with whoever we chose. We decided to go with Marc and Nortown and have them do the driveway and soldier course. We didn't have to pay any down payment. Marc only wanted payment once the job was completed.

Marc and Nortown was terrific to work with. Marc is very responsive. If I reach out to him, I always get a response back within the same day, and often within the same hour. I was having other work done, and Marc accomodated my schedule. When the other work was done, he showed up 2 days later with a full crew. They were able to rip out the old asphalt, lay new stone down, put in place the soldier course and put in the new asphalt all in that morning (since my old driveway foundation was solid and I didn't have any problems with the foundation, he was able to do it all in one day, however, he had warned that if they found issues, then they would fix the foundational issues first and then come back later to lay the asphalt, however, it was not in the case for us). Marc also went to get the exact same paving stones (same brand, model and colour), except the larger size, that were used for our walkway so that it would be a perfect match.

They did a terrific job and the new driveway looks great. To me, the mark of a good company is the after sale service - will they be responsive after the job has been done and paid for. In my past experience with some other contractors, once I paid, they were hard to get a hold of after. Not Marc and Nortown. There was some touch up work that needed to get done after the driveway was set. I reached out to Marc and he showed up the next day and took care of it with a smile.

I have no hesitation in recommending Marc and Nortown. I learned from Marc that Nortown is a family business and they really take pride in the work they do, which was very evident. I've recommended him a few people already. Thank you Homestars for your reviews to be able to find Nortown.

We replaced some old sidewalks and our driveway. Nortown did the paving only, and did an excellent job coordinating their work with the company doing the interlocking pavers work. Silvano Savoia was our Nortown contact and he did a very professional job in preparing the quote, keeping us informed about timing of the work and following up after the work was completed. The work itself was done on schedule and on budget, and the workers on the job were friendly and efficient. We're very pleased with the quality of the results, and have received several compliments from our neighbours!

Great work, by a great team. We've worked with paving companies before and we were somewhat taken aback by how thorough and meticulous this crew was. Marc came in, measured out the site and prepared a competitive quote quickly - the scope of work on the quote was also realistic (a real quote, not some fake low ball). They came in exactly as scheduled, did us a couple extra favours on-site and invoiced us what was quoted - no extras. We look forward to working with Nortown again; good people.

Horrible experience with site supervisor, I was yelled at with tons of profanity in front of neighbors and my 7 year old son!!!! I have been in the contracting business for 23+ years and have always remained polite and professional with my customers and subcontractors and NEVER experienced anything like I did when a senior working from Nortown returned to complete an incomplete project at my home. I met with Sam the owner when he provided me a quote and although he was more expensive than another guy I felt comfortable with him and his experience and did not negotiate the price and agreed to procced with the job. Workers showed up, about 7 of them, all was going well with the paving but the supervisor, I didn't get his name, was having issues with relaying about 50sqft of interlock stone that wasn’t going in as easy as he thought. He was cursing and making comments about "cheap bricks". He left two junior workers behind to finish the job but refused to leave the machine to tamp the stones flat and said it wasn't required. I have done a few interlock jobs over the years and avereyone knows that once you lay the stone you need to run the tamper over them and then sweep sand over all the joints to complete the job. there wasn't enough sand either to complete the job so I called Sam and he sent this same supervisor over on Saturday , that is when he verbally assulted me. He showed up unhappy and looking for a fight. I really wasn't expecting an issue and greeted him with a "good morning" and was answed by "what is wrong with this brick?" I replied with "it needs to be tampered and flatted down" he muttered something and started the machine and ran it in a small circle for 30 seconds and then started to walk away with it and I said "hey can you PLEASE run it over the entire area that you did ...Please" he got really upset and yelled profanities at me for about 3-4 mins all the while my 6 year old son was watching from his open bedroom window. He was screaming load enough that my neighbors came out after and were shocked at what they had heard. I was left stunned!!!! I did call Sam and all he said was sorry and that there was nothing he could do.......well maybe he was right but you would think that he may have had the curtesy to drop by in person to appoligze to my family. I am concerned about having to deal with them for any future warranty issues. Do not use these guys.
