Our 1925 home was a mixture of knob and tube, 1950's romex, a basement renovated by a non licensed electrician, with a relatively new kitchen and bathroom that were not done up to code. I hired HowieCo electric to replace all the knob and tube wiring of our 1925 house, as well as fix up the errors made by the "do it yourself handymen" who had done previous work. Ken Howard impressed from the day he came over to do the estimate, when he called me at 7:37 to let me know that he was going to be late for his 8:00 appointment with me. His estimate was reasonable, actually lower than some of the others, but it was his professionalism that impressed me most. His entire team was polite, respectful that they were in someone else's home (one even asked me for permission to leave a sandwich in my fridge), efficient and hard workers. Even though they encountered a few surprises as they did the work (like when they went to install the bathroom fan and found out the fan didn't vent to anything, and had to get a roof guy over to fix the problem), they dealt with each problem, and it didn't really delay the job overall. I have no hesitation recommending HowieCo for any electrical job. They were a pleasure to work with and I only wish all tradespeople were as professional, honest and hard working as they are.

I got several quotes for the work and all were in the same price range but the quote was very professional, the company are licensed and the 4 person crew finished the work in the time stated. I will use them again for additional work in the future. A perfect score was not given as I found an overlooked cardboard box of wires, etc. at the side of the house after a rainfall and had to clean it up.

We needed to fix our electrical service to our garage. Howieco showed up on time for the estimate and the installation. They completed everything to code and provided us with the best option to address our needs. Looking forward to using them again in the future.

After just purchasing our home we knew that there would be some knob & tube. Ken's crew not only took care of the obvious knob & tube, but also found new wiring from previous renovations that had been improperly tied into the old knob & tube. These guys are great at what they do, and they do it fast. The crew were in and out in the 4 days that Ken originally forecast. Stefan's work on the service panel can only be described as a work of art! They cleaned up, and kept the holes to a minimum. We are extremely pleased with the result, and will definitely recommend Howieco to anyone that needs electrical work done.

Ken was recommended by a neighbour when we had problems with some of our lights & a smell of smoke in the basement on a Sunday. We left him a message which he returned almost immediately & came over to determine the problem the same day! It turned out only to be a loose wire which he fixed. However he found some knob & tube wiring which we thought we had got rid of several years ago. Ken gave us a very reasonable quote & everything was done in 3 days. Even though there were several extra receptacles, etc., that were found not grounded, he stayed with his original quote. I found his crew to be knowledgable & friendly & would definitely recommend Howieco Electric to a friend & have already done so with a neighbour.

Ken dropped by and after inspecting the house and coming up with a very innovative idea for my wiring problem, gave me a very reasonable quote. Although the job proved to be more difficult than expected he finished quickly and stuck to the quote. I'm sure the cost for his time and the team's time exceeded the quote given.

He's quick, thorough, innovative and knows his stuff. He's also honest and lives up to his solid reputation. Wish I could give him a higher rating than 10.

This review is coming a year later then it should have but every once in awhile I remember what a great job he did and that I had originally found him on Home Stars. I got atleast 5 or 6 estimates and Kens was somewhere in the middle but he was so great natured and easy to talk to about everything that was being done that I decided to go with him. He and his crew got everything done and more in the time frame that he said, even though other things were added in (Some additional work in other areas of the house) he was still done on time and kept his quote to exactly what he said it would be! This made me very happy. I will always call him for any electrical work in the future and would highly recommend him.

We got 5 quotes and 5 different opinions on exactly how to go about our 4-storey replacement. Of the 3 we judged to be competent, Howieco was the least expensive, and as we learned when the inspector came, the most expert. They blitzed the job with 6 great people, one doing nothing but constant clean-up.We had to live in the house during the 5-day job (not recommended!)but we saw first-hand that Ken,Donald, Norma, Ashley, Stephen, and Delia are pros who go the extra mile.
