Wayne - thank you for your response and for your determination to make this right. There is no company that is perfect. So the true measure of a quality firm is how well they respond to customer situations like these. That's why I've changed my rating of your firm from a "0" to a "10". I want you to know that I really appreciate you going above and beyond to make me feel like a valued customer, and I thank you for your integrity and decency - two qualities that are unfortunately greatly underrepresented in the construction industry.
I'm sure you're aware that your crews came and completed the work. I found them professional, knowledgeable, courteous and respectful of my home. So thank you again for your personal involvement. I would not hesitate to call upon your firm again, or recommend you to any other customer contemplating a home improvement project.

I was introduced to George Kent Home Improvements (GKHI) as a result of a warranty claim. The roofer I had previously hired did not properly construct the roof ridge vent and so the GAF warranty claims department sent out GKHI to complete the job. Right at that time I also discovered that I had insufficient insulation in my roof (including blocked soffits and no baffles) so I thought I'd give GKHI an opportunity to provide me with a quote for the work. The fact that GAF uses them and are one of their Master Elite contractors gave me great comfort as I had never heard of this firm before. So in February 2018 I asked them to provide me with a quote. I never received anything from them and even followed up with the customer service rep. In April I phoned again and this time explained the situation to the receptionist, and asked her if a sales rep could contact me to discuss this new work. It seems that the customer service rep with whom I had been dealing was on a personal leave. Although I was promised a return call that afternoon, it took several weeks until one of their sales reps called me. He apologized profusely and arranged to come out to inspect the roof/attic so he could provide me with a quote. He did come over and I admit I was very impressed with his knowledge and commitment to doing a good job. He took the time to explain everything to me and my husband, and promised me 3 different quotes depending on how I wanted the job done (we have 2 skylights that made things a little trickier). Good news - he also advised us that we would be eligible for up to a $1500 rebate from the Ontario Green Fund. Much to my disappointment, I have still not received any quotes from GKHI, and a few weeks ago I followed up with this sales rep and left him a voice message on his cell phone. Still no word. Not even an acknowledgement. And now the Ontario Green Fund has been shut down by the new PC government so I'm no longer eligible for the rebate. Thanks a lot GKHI! I was actually an easy sale. If opportunities like these are being turned down, then I guess business must be really booming. I just would have appreciated a bit of courtesy and consideration if you weren't interested in doing the work. Best of luck to you.
