This is the second job for which I've hired Keith. The first was last year when I hired him to hook up my pool heater to the gas line. He did a terrific job and so there was no question about reaching out to him again when I bought a new natural gas BBQ that needed to be hooked up to our gas line. Keith is very knowledgeable, considerate and committed to doing quality work. And to top it all off, he's just a very decent person! Without asking him to, Keith offered to come over this past Saturday morning to hook up our BBQ so we could have it working for the Canada Day long weekend. He worked hard in that sweltering heat and did a great job! Keith put a lot of thought into how to best extend the gas line to the BBQ because there were one or two challenges, and the result was neat and meticulous. Thank you Keith! You are a true gentleman and I have no hesitation in recommending you for similar work.

*Important addendum to my earlier review shown below* Wayne - thank you for your response and for your determination to make this right. There is no company that is perfect. So the true measure of a quality firm is how well they respond to customer situations like these. That's why I've changed my rating of your firm from a "0" to a "10". I want you to know that I really appreciate you going above and beyond to make me feel like a valued customer, and I thank you for your integrity and decency - two qualities that are unfortunately greatly underrepresented in the construction industry. I'm sure you're aware that your crews came and completed the work. I found them professional, knowledgeable, courteous and respectful of my home. So thank you again for your personal involvement. I would not hesitate to call upon your firm again, or recommend you to any other customer contemplating a home improvement project. Original review: I was introduced to George Kent Home Improvements (GKHI) as a result of a warranty claim. The roofer I had previously hired did not properly construct the roof ridge vent and so the GAF warranty claims department sent out GKHI to complete the job. Right at that time I also discovered that I had insufficient insulation in my roof (including blocked soffits and no baffles) so I thought I'd give GKHI an opportunity to provide me with a quote for the work. The fact that GAF uses them and are one of their Master Elite contractors gave me great comfort as I had never heard of this firm before. So in February 2018 I asked them to provide me with a quote. I never received anything from them and even followed up with the customer service rep. In April I phoned again and this time explained the situation to the receptionist, and asked her if a sales rep could contact me to discuss this new work. It seems that the customer service rep with whom I had been dealing was on a personal leave. Although I was promised a return call that afternoon, it took several weeks until one of their sales reps called me. He apologized profusely and arranged to come out to inspect the roof/attic so he could provide me with a quote. He did come over and I admit I was very impressed with his knowledge and commitment to doing a good job. He took the time to explain everything to me and my husband, and promised me 3 different quotes depending on how I wanted the job done (we have 2 skylights that made things a little trickier). Good news - he also advised us that we would be eligible for up to a $1500 rebate from the Ontario Green Fund. Much to my disappointment, I have still not received any quotes from GKHI, and a few weeks ago I followed up with this sales rep and left him a voice message on his cell phone. Still no word. Not even an acknowledgement. And now the Ontario Green Fund has been shut down by the new PC government so I'm no longer eligible for the rebate. Thanks a lot GKHI! I was actually an easy sale. If opportunities like these are being turned down, then I guess business must be really booming. I just would have appreciated a bit of courtesy and consideration if you weren't interested in doing the work. Best of luck to you.

I was introduced to Robert by my deck builder. At the time I was already working with another structural designer, but that relationship quickly went south when he became insistent that my builder's construction approach would not meet code and I would therefore not get my permit. So I had to test that contention because my builder insisted that this guy was wrong. And that's where Robert came in. He did new drawings for me, incorporating mine and my builder's wishes, and ensured that more modern construction technology was used all while meeting code. As expected, the city's permit department agreed. Looking back, when I compare the quality of work and the client service model of my previous guy's versus Robert's, I can honestly say the difference was night and day. I rarely spoke to the first guy and what he produced were a few sketches that now seemed slapped together, outdated, and had scant details. Robert, on the other hand, is a consummate professional. I was amazed at the level of detail, thoroughness, and thought he put into his work. And he was such a pleasure to work with! It was quite clear to me that he took great pride in his work, which gave me huge comfort. When he puts the Valente stamp on his drawings, you can be assured that they are completed to the highest standards of excellence. I know this is very high praise, and I don't give it lightly. Robert is truly deserving of it. I'm thankful to my deck builder for the introduction, and I'm very thankful to Robert for saving my project! Muchas gracias Roberto!!

My husband and I recently completed renovating our home and decided that we wanted custom drapes and blinds for our new windows. Because of the number of windows to be covered, we decided to prioritize them and create two phases of the overall project so we weren't overwhelmed. Sara was one of three suppliers who I interviewed and I'm so glad we chose her as she was the perfect choice, standing out head and shoulders above the other two firms. At all times she was professional, very detail oriented, thoughtful, and treated this project as if she were working in her own home. I had some pretty firm ideas about what I wanted for my living/dining rooms and powder room, and she worked patiently with me to help realize that vision making good suggestions along the way, and providing great ideas for those windows where I wasn't sure what to do. An unexpected surprise was that Sara was even more budget conscious than I was - helping me to save wherever we could and where it made most sense. I would highly recommend Sara and Model Space Designs, and do it without hesitation. She kept every promise she made to me - even going out of her way to deliver my draperies in time for a big Christmas party we were having. I'm so delighted with my end product, and have received many compliments from guests to my home. I look forward to beginning Phase 2 with her!
