Horrible service

After paying for service for 11 months was told my computer was unfixable. Had my computer fixed elsewhere for $500. Think twice before you purchase protection plan. I am submitting complaint to BBB and will not pay remaining $20 on contract out of principle and the fact I had to pay $500 for someone else to fix computer. Techs are not knowledgeable and told me it was long shot anyone can fix my computer. Surprise he was wrong. Good luck trying to collect my payment on cancelled credit card. I have always purchased electronics from Best Buy and got service plan. i will not so much as buy a charger from them now

After buying an S8 tablet I regretfully headed to the Geek squad at Best Buy to install a screen protector . The worst experience in terms of attitude and quality Ive ever encountered in my whole life.The screen protector and the sides cover was peeled off in a less than a month!!!
Never will I repeat this experience and definitely I will never recommend the Geek Squad to anyone else.

75 " TV Extended warranty issue

Very Very poor service. . I have my 75"TV for 4 years through BestBuy and only recently had issues with it stalling while streaming. no other device in my house does it ever. after 4 online service requests through GEEK SQUAD'S WEBSITE finally A1Teck cantacts me for the repair. they then have multiple last minute cancellations &it took them over a month , to come in and change a part, after which my TV issue got even worse.
took another 3 service requests and another month for them to show up again..
they then take my tv to their shop and call me after a 10 days to let me know there was no issue detected and that they were returning my tv.
they were to show up today with my TV and again at the last minute, after waiting for them all day, they do it again and call me to to say their one team member hasn't shown up for work so they will reschedule for next week..next week??? they have used this excuse on many occasions. when you call them , they never pick up the phone. I have e mailed GEEK SQUAD and the local Best buy calls me to tell me to file a service request online( which i have done many times ) and there's nothing they can do... this is pathetic. my warranty runs out in 10 days .. this is absolutely unacceptable.
I don't know how GEEKSQUAD works through them. i am extremely frustrated.

THE GEEKS MADE MY DAY !!!

One of my big stresses usually centers around my electronic devices. I just bought a new computer. As a member of Geek Squad, I had the Geeks transfer my data and programs from my old computer to the new one. They ran into a few glitches along the way, but with great patience and professionalism, they were completely successful! Kudos to those who helped me - Ken, Glen, Ali, Sameem. I highly recommend The Geek Squad for anyone experiencing issues with their computers, tablets, etc. One can spend twenty bucks a month on lunch with a friend ... but your moolah would be better spent on a Geek Squad membership.

The most stressful insurance company I have ever seen

3 months after I made a claim and nothing happened. Everytime I call I need to repeat the same story as it seems nothing has been documented in the file. I still pay the monthly fee while I don't have a TV.
Avoid it!

Audio problem with TV and Sound Bar

Issue resolved satisfactorily. TV volume was turned off. I had no clue how to reset it. Travis from The Geek Squad changed the settings for me. TV now works properly. He also diagnosed a problem with my old sound bar. It died, and needs to be replaced. He recommended a unit to replace the old one , which I had for many years. Hopefully that will take care of the problem. I was not charged for the service call to my home. He was in and out in about 10 minutes, and we are in the neighbourhood where the squad is based (Bayview and Eglinton). I have used them before, and would highly recommend them.

YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED

bought warranty for my phone through Geek Squad, it is a total rip off. They will charge you an additional $200 to get the phone fixed on top of what you are already paying monthly. If they cannot fix the phone they will replace it with a refurbished phone (something that is not told to you when you buy the service but definitely explained at the moment you need the phone replaced). The Manager Mike is very rude and does not know a thing about customer service. Mike is the most unprofessional person i have come across in all my years of dealing with anyone associated with a known brand.

New tv installation

Excellent installation with clear explanations for us seniors. very personable staff. Worth every penny. I highly recommend this service. Arrived on time. Cleanup afterwards was impeccable. do not fear the cost. Makes life much easier

Terrible

I brought my laptop in after my operating system crashed. I was told I would be called with options once initial tests were run.
A few days later I received a call saying my computer was backed up and ready for pick up.
I happily paid the bill until I got home and realized 95% of my files were no where to be found. I took it back to best buy where they gave me the we can't help you speech. Understandably, not all files will be able to be retrieved, but NOT ONE DOCUMENT was retrieved. What did I pay for?
I will acknowledge some photos were retrieved but the great majority is not there. I wish I would have taken it to apple. Huge mistake. So disappointed and disgusted with this terrible service they provide. TAKE IT SOME WHERE ELSE.

Best Buy Geek Squad

I purchased a Geek Squad membership with my laptop Sept 30,2017. When I went to the store to use my membership on Oct 7 I was told that I had to buy a separate membership for my wife (Wendy Robbins), who lives in the same household as I, to be able to access Geek Squad. We purchased the 2nd membership.

On March 7, 2108 my wife went into a store, using the Geek Squad membership, and the store manager told her that we only need one membership per household and directed her to go contact Geek Squad for a refund.

On March 9 we attended the store where we purchased both memberships and the manager agreed that we should receive a refund for the 2nd membership. Together with the store manager we called Geek Squad and spoke to (CSR: Customer Serivce Rep) CSR Lina and were advised that we would received a callback in 3-5 days to confirm the refund (conf #39104743).

On April 9, 2018 I called Geek Squad and spoke to CRS David who advised that the prior agent, Lina, had only cancelled the 2nd membership but did not process the refund. He adjusted the notes and said I would receive a call to confirm refund processing in 20-30 days, attributing the delay to a new billing system. He stated same confirmation # applied.

On June 1, 2018 I called Geek Squad again and spoke to CSR Sebastian. He stated file had been closed without refund being issued as they found no duplicate billing on my account. I clarified that we had been sold 2 memberships, one had been cancelled and we now have one remaining and I am seeking a refund on the 2nd membership, in my wife's name which is now closed. He escalated request for refund and clarified in notes that there were 2 separate memberships sold to one household, that one was cancelled and clarified request is for full refund for 2nd membership paid from October 2017 to March 2018. Advised I would receive call to confirm refund processing in 5-7 days. Same confirmation # provided.

On June 12, 2018 I called Geek Squad and spoke to CSR Alexander. Advised I would receive call back on June 14 or 15. I advised I am not satisfied with this as I had been advised I would receive call backs on every call I had made over 3 months and have NEVER received a call back from Best Buy. Requested to speak to manager.

Transferred to manager, Sharon, who was not helpful at all. Stated issue is with "upper management" and they have to "follow process" to which she refused to advise me of the process, although she stated she was aware of process but would not share this information with me. She refused to allow me to speak to anyone above her and stated, quoting her "someone will call you back eventually". I expressed my frustration and dissatisfaction with this and she advised me that if someone didn't call me back again I could call them again next week.

I was advised by 2 store managers that I am owed a refund on the full amount of the 2nd refund. I have attended the store of purchase, and called Geek Squad on 4 occasions over 3+ months and still have not received ANY call backs or communications from them or a refund. Best Buy has NEVER contacted me to follow up on any of my calls, despite being told that I would receive a call back every time I called them. And today I'm told that "eventually" someone may call me. This is not acceptable.
