Emerald Moving

My wife and I hired Emerald for a move from our 3 bedroom semi (with finished basement) to a large loft downtown. We found Emerald on Homestars and they are living proof of how web communities like this can work. The entire experience was excellent - from the very smooth booking process to their on-time arrival to their "record setting" move. It was clear that Dave, Mike and Ricky take their jobs seriously and they care about delivering the best moving services in the GTA. They were extremely friendly and courteous and they went to extremes to make sure our belongings arrived undamaged.

It's also worth noting that (in my view) there isn't much that would motivate a team of movers to get a job done quickly. They're getting paid by the hour after all, so why not take it slow? Also, as a customer, you're in a very vulnerable position on moving day. If you aren't liking the service you're getting, you can't really do much about it. As I said above, Dave and his team clearly care about their trade and they never fell pray to any of these temptations. In fact, they completed our move in less time than originally estimated (although we take some credit for being well packed and well prepared)!

Kudos to Emerald for making our moving day enjoyable, guys. Yes, I just said moving can actually be enjoyable...

Emerald Moving made the move into our first home stress-free. We were moving from a one-bedroom second storey walk-up to a narrow downtown row-house with no parking and I was worried about how the day would go. Mike and Dave arrived and immediately set me at ease. ("Don't worry. We've seen it all".) They were wizards at manoeuvring the truck into a tight spot, set up an amazingly efficient relay system to get stuff out of our apartment and into the truck, and wrapped up our furniture with extraordinary care. At the other end, they navigated our extremely narrow hallway and staircase with ease, and had that truck empty in what seemed like record time. Even better, Mike was able to find a very small and hard-to-replace speaker leg that had fallen off in the truck en route. My husband and I couldn't have been more pleased with the service we received from Emerald -- including Wendy in the office, who provided prompt, courteous customer service. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Emerald and would absolutely use them again.

Moving is never fun, but with Dave and his crew at Emerald movers, it went as well as could be hoped. They were very accurate with their estimates of time and cost for the move, showed up on time, and took care of everything. They were very efficient at packaging all the delicate items, and happy to take care of any odd items, things that needed to be disassembled, or things we had forgotten to pack.

I would heartily recommend Emerald to anyone who is looking.

Emerald moved us from our condo into a new house. The online booking process went smoothly so I was looking forward to the move. Emerald was even 15 minutes early to get set up. We had absolutely nothing damaged or broken and they even dismantled and separately packaged all glass furniture pieces. The workers worked very hard and we gave them each a 15% tip for taking such good care of our stuff. Online payment after the move was fast and easy.

I can't say enough about my exceptional experience with Emerald Moving. I've moved often in the past and this company has been by far my best experience with a moving company. Wendy, the Customer Service Manager, provided excellent customer service and was able to walk me through the process with ease. After reviewing with her my requirements, she provided what turned out to be a very accurate picture of what my move would require in terms size of truck, number of movers, time, number of boxes etc. Her quote was right-on the mark! I have to say, one of the best features of this company is BoxSmart whereby they will provide (and deliver to your door in advance) all kinds of boxes for your moving needs and best of all, what you don't use they will credit you. I feel this is an important feature of this company. No more scrounging for liquor or grocery store boxes or having to go out and pay for boxes that may not be right or be stuck with boxes you paid for and don't use.

Dave, the move captain and his crew were amazing and respectful and wouldn't let me lift a finger. My upholstered furniture was well protected and the fragile furniture and boxes were handled with care. Not one item arrived broken or scratched. Since my place had undergone renovation, they were very mindful of the walls and there wasn't one scuff!

I would HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone who is looking for a good mover. There are so many moving companies that when they appear at your door come across as untrustworthy, or drive a broken down truck or the movers themselves are used and paid only for the day, that having peace of mind for one's personal effects not to mention the investment we make in our funishings, it is comforting to know that quality exists.

Emerald Moving were very efficient and helpful from the planning stages to the actual move. They arrived on time and were very careful with my belongings. I was impressed at how quickly yet how gentle they were with my furniture and boxes. They even dismantled and put everything back together as if it were their own furniture. I was extremely happy with my move and would use them again in the future and recommend them to my friends.

I was really nervous about finding a moving company as it was my first time using professional movers. I had read a lot of reviews about various moving companies and had narrowed them down to three. Armed with a checklist of questions, I spoke to Carol at Emerald Moving on several occasions who reassured me of any concerns I had about the moving process and the handling of my belongings. I felt confident in choosing Emerald Moving due to Carol's straightforward, helpful and matter of fact approach every time I called which was several times!
On the day of the move, the two young men who came to move my things were prompt, friendly and efficient. They took great care in loading and unloading my belongings in the truck. They even helped arrange some of my furniture.
Overall, the entire process took less than four hours from start to finish and went off without a hitch. I would definitely recommend Emerald Moving to friends and will use them again for my next move.

I arranged my daughter's move from London, On. to Toronto via telephone and online from Alberta after reading Emerald's reviews. The move couldn't have been handled better. David & his helper picked up the contents from London and met us in Toronto. Communications and arrangements from start to finish were excellent. They arrived on time, were efficient and courteous in unloading & setting up, took pride in their work, offered suggestions for the next move and provided extra help that was needed, but not part of the move. Their humorous banter kept us entertained during the unpacking. The final price was the same as the quote. We couldn't have asked for a smoother or more professional move and will certainly contact them again the next time my daughter moves.

This was a small, last-minute job, but they responded immediately and squeezed us in with very little notice. They were prompt, organized, efficient and extremely careful and did all sorts of extras for us that we were not expecting. Would definitely recommend them and plan to use them again soon.

We've used them 3 times, once into a new house, then into storage when that house didn't work out, and finally, into our new house! Friendliest, punctual, hard working movers we've ever used.
