New Duct Work Installed

The reviews on Homestars were true and more than accurate! The team at Dave White are true professionals! Lou at was prompt and on time in calling me back and flexible in booking time to meet to give a detailed quote and a time to complete the job. Marino and Pat, who did the work, were fast workers and it was very clear they knew what they were doing. If you want courteous, responsive and true professionals to work on your home, give Lou at Dave White a call to get your job done right!

I was registered with Homeservice Club and had two other contractors come out to give me a quote prior to calling Dave White - I found Dave White ON MY OWN through Homestars after not being satisfied with the poor quality contractors Homeservice Club provided me. They sent me guys who clean ducts, not repair/work/build them. Lou at Dave White met with me and gave me a written quote on the spot - he followed up with me both before and after the job was completed. He and his team are contractors you can trust and it was clear they took pride in their work. My advice to homeowners - go with Dave White if you have any duct work projects!

Basement Duct repair / relocation

Our basement ceiling is low and we needed our ducts moved out of the high traffic area. The job had been horribly botched by an unqualified contractor and our entire heating system had been compromised.

We called Lou from Dave White Heating to fix the botch job. He returned our calls right away, came to see us within 24 hours (and he was on time to the minute!), spent time explaining the job and gave us a VERY fair estimate; less than we expected by far.

Lou and his guys came in the next week, right on schedule, and completed the job without a hitch. The ducts were custom built to our specific needs. They are now moved out of the way and they look amazing. The air flows freely through our entire house again.

Lou called us the next day to make sure we were satisfied.

Seriously, if you have duct work to do, I can't recommend Lou and this company more highly. In our entire renovation we dealt with many people and none was as easy and great to work with as Lou. This company works with the rare combination of skill, integrity and punctuality.

Only hire the professionals. Ducts are important and someone who doesn't know what he/she is doing can affect your heating bills for decades to come.

new furnace, ductwork reno

While considering ducting solutions for basement reno, furnace died. Called Lou after reading Homestars reviews and he immediately lived up to the positive comments with a prompt and courteous site visit with an honest review of the situation. A new furnace was installed by the end of the next day. I was very impressed with the skills and work ethic of Pat and Marino, making sure everything was done right. The custom adapters to the new furnace were fabricated in their shop from Lou's measurements and fit perfectly.

It was an easy decision to have them redo my ducting. It was a huge effort with lots of custom work, but they maintained their diligence throughout the job and I am very happy with the results. I would recommend these guys to anyone without hesitation, no matter what size of project. They know what they are doing and it shows.

Duct work

We had a very good experience working with them. Lou arrived to give me an estimate when he said he would, returned calls promptly and was overall a pleasant man to do business with. He even made special arrangements to accommodate us in a last minute schedule change because we couldn't take a day off work. Pat and Marino arrived promptly to do the job. My wife said Pat and Marino were pleasant and well mannered, worked diligently. We wanted to reroute our attic return duct a certain way and they accommodated all of my specific requests. Lou even came through at the end of the evening and personally took care of my request to cap a certain area. We would definitely call them again and recommend them to friends. Very good workmanship. So glad to get the work done.

Thanks guys and Merry Christmas!

Duct Replacement in Condo

I needed to have some ductwork rerouted in my condo unit. This involved fabricating custom ductwork and working in very tight spaces, as well as bringing all materials up to the suite on an elevator and through narrow hallways. Lou was great from the start of the project through to the finish. He came over to assess what was required on the day that we agreed upon, and also gave me a firm date for coming in to do the work. When my husband had an accident and we had to postpone the work late in the evening of the day before they were supposed to come in, I was able to reach Lou and get the work rescheduled. He was very understanding and sympathetic, although I am sure this late notice messed up the schedule he had set for his team for that week.

His team of installers were great - pleasant, courteous, clean workers and very careful to ensure that nothing was damaged, either in the elevators or hallways of the condo building, as well as in my unit (they had to work in an area with marble flooring). They came when he said they would, and Lou also came to check up on things and make sure everything was proceeding well.

I subsequently had the heating system maintenance person from the company that my condo subcontracts the maintenance of the mechanical systems come in to see the work that was done, and he was so impressed that he asked me for their info so he could have them added to their subcontractor list.

I would highly recommend Lou at Dave White! (BTW - Lou is the owner - Dave White is the name of the company)

New A/C, Furnace, Air Cleaner, Humidifier installa

I highly recommend Lou and Dave White and my experience with Lou/Marino/Pat was exceptional. I actually built my own home from scratch and Dave White Heating A/C alleviated a lot of stress with their easy-going, HONEST (this is probably the most evident trait of this company), and the quick response. By quick response, I mean that they are very accommodating and reasonable in terms of scheduling work to be done.

Air Conditioner repair July 2007

On one of the hottest days of the year my air conditoner died. I had never used Dave White before but after reading the reviews on Homestars I decided to give them a call. Lou came out the same day and got my system running in under 30 minutes. My wife is totally hooked on air conditioning so Lou's quick response probably also saved my marriage. Lou is the kind of star you look for on the Homestars website.

Air Conditioner Failure while House-Sitting

We're house sitting my wife's mother's place in Markham and the air conditioning broke down.

With her mom unreachable, and planning to sell her home in year, the pressure was on to find a reasonable repair for what seemed to be sudden coolant loss or other major compressor failure.

Not knowing where to turn, as we have never yet found a good HVAC contractor, we turned to Homestars.

We consider ourselves very fortunate to have found Lou, the owner of Dave White Heating. I am a huge fan of the show Holmes on Holmes. Like Mike Holmes, Lou learned the trade from his father, and clearly `loves the job`. Lou epitomises old fashioned work ethics, professionalism and customer service. To top it all off, he`s a genuine nice guy.

Lou willingly offered to come see us the next day, even though it meant he would have to work past 8:30pm. He quikcly diagnosed the likely cause to be a faulty capacitor, and returned promptly the next afternoon with a replacement. The replacement capacitor did the trick, and fixed the AC for only $200.

Most HVAC contractors that are more motivated by profit, or who don`t love the job enough to learn to do it right, would almost certainly have told us to replace the compressor, which would have cost more than $2,000.

You simply won`t find a better HVAC contractor, or a nicer guy than Lou. We are planning a completely new HVAC system and ductwork replacment this summer - and will call on Lou.

We give Lou our highest possible recommendation

Basement Reno

I am renovating my basement and needed some heating ducts moved (a small cusom sheet metal job). Lou from Dave White Heating responded to my inquiries promptly, made suggestions on the best way to fix my problem, quoted me a fair price and did the installation exactly when he said he would.

I am very pleased with the results. Lou at Dave White Heating was great!
