I talked to customer service and a technician prior to the service call and no one mentioned that I would be charged any amount other than the $129 fee for the service call. I talked to a technician in advance to the service call as I was concerned about whether I should proceed with scheduling a service call and pay $129 due to the age of my air conditioner and I was wondering whether I should just proceed with getting a new one - however he said that the diagnostic charge would be taken off the cost of a new air conditioner, but never mentioned that I would also be charged labour for the service call. Also the technician who came to the house mentioned the $129 when he arrived but never mentioned the labour charge. He identified it as an electrical problem right away but then went on to diagnose the nature of the electrical problem. However, he cannot fix the electrical problem as he is not an electrician. So now I still need to hire an electrician to fix the problem who will want to do the same diagnostic. I should have been asked whether I wanted to pay for the technician's labour to diagnose the electrical problem before he proceeded.
