I have been using Anna's for several years now. Other reviewers are correct though - the quality of the person is obviously the most important thing - and this varies widely. We have one person who is fantastic - when she cleaned our house we loved her, and asked for her to be our regular cleaning person. She has been with us for over 3 years - every two weeks for 3 hours. Unfortunately, the other 4 people we had went from just okay to horrible. One person left after 3 hours (when she was paid for 4). We only found out because my husband came home from work to find her gone. You could not even tell she had been there. She walked around room to room and asked what she should do in each room and telling me what she wouldn't or couldn't do. Another person that was hired to help get the house ready for sale spent almost an hour doing something I asked her not to do. When our person is away on vacation, we stopped the service and did not allow a replacement due to our bad experiences, and the owner was not happy with that - but the truth is that if our cleaner leaves the company I'm not sure we would stay with them.

I don't usually participate in review sites, but I definitely feel this company is being rated lower than it should.

I have been using their housekeeping services for over 5 years now. I started with them based on a recommendation from a friend.

They are dependable and do a great job. They always try to assign the same person to come clean our condo every couple of weeks.

The odd time we don't get the regular person - someone is sick, or has an emergency - which happens to all of us!

However, they always ensure someone else will come. The new person isn't always a good as our regular - she won't know the place well, and doesn't know our habits - but it doesn't happen often and she'll do a good job.

Give them a try - for $20.00 / hour it's great value! We get bi-weekly 3 hour cleanings. So for $120 / month it has been a complete life changer and very well worth it - ask my wife :)

I feel a need to defend my ladies. There are some cleaners from this service who are better than others. I have had more good than not. Currently I use a mother/daughter team in Vaughan (3 hours x 2 pppl)and they make me happy every time I come home after their service. I am very particular about my cleaning and I must say they clean my house like I would. I can understand the comments by the others about the owner but I take her as she is for the great price and great service.

I've used several cleaners from this service.
-Some of them were VERY lazy and had disgusting and unsanitary habits (keep an eye on how they clean the toilets - gross!)
-Owner has poor customer service skills - does not try to make you happy - she tries to insinuate that the problem is with your expectations rather than her sloppy cleaners.
-There are a lot more services available - don't waste your time and money over here.

I am a landlord and tired of cleaning after dirty apartments after tenants move out. As a result I came across an add for Anna's Housekeeping Services and proceeded to give her a call. I explained the unit was very dirty (kitchen, bathroom and floor mainly) and she told me not to worry they handle this type of service all the time. $120 3 hours 2 cleaners. What can I say? I should have done it myself and saved all the money I wasted. Bathroom still smells like urine, bathtub still dirty with cleaning product residue all over the tiles. The floor throughout especially the kitchen is still dirty. I called Anna to complain and what a defensive individual with zero customer service skills. I couldn't get a word in edgewise and I most likely raised my voice to give her all my comments and all she could say is that I should stop yelling at her and that she had been at work since 8:00am and had a hard day!!! No wonder probably lots of complaints! In the end she hung up on me. My only regret, I should have read all the reviews first and saved my money. Now I must go and clean my apartment.... My advice to her is that she should close up shop and take an anger management class.

Hired this company on referral from friend. Anna explained that their move-in/move-out cleaning services require unlimited hours. They stay until the job is done. I had the option to limit the number of hours and they would do the best they could in time allotted. Went over in detail the areas of concentration i.e. spotless kitchen and bathroom, thorough vacuuming job. The rest I considered "gravy".

Cleaning lady spoke little English, but also did not listen at all. Repeatedly told the lady to take her time and do a thorough job. I didn't mind paying for her time. Was willing to pay for up to 8 to 10 hour cleaning.

Of her own volition, she called after 3 hours and said she was finished. Half the things I pointed out to her as requiring cleaning were untouched.

The cleaning lady had little idea how to use common cleaning products. I attempted to show her, but she became impatient and said she had been cleaning for over 2 years and knew how to use these items. Although I asked for a thorough cleaning of grease etc. in kitchen, she mostly just used tons of paper towel (supplied by me) and wiped stuff with water. She struggled with how to put on flooring attachment on standard Hoover vacuum cleaner. I showed her how to attach the flooring tool and then wondered why she wanted to use it on the carpet? She cleaned the windows though I asked her not to bother with those. Trouble is, she somehow managed to take the window off the track and it took us ages to fix it again.

Called Anna for a receipt next day. Mentioned that the cleaning lady did a poor job. She said sorry and was about to hang up immediately. I said, "That's all you have to say about it?" She was rude and defensive claiming that no one had ever called to complain about this particular cleaning lady. People only ever called to compliment her work. Attempted to explain what was done improperly, but Anna didn't want to hear about it. She said the only reason she was upset with the cleaning lady is that she left after only 3 hours when she could have continued to earn money for bad cleaning for an unlimited amount of billable time. Never heard from them again.

Spent additional 5 hours cleaning what was left over myself.

Completely unreliable company who over promise and under deliver. They left our house without cleaning our main floor principle rooms after we specifically mentioned that the 1st floor was the priority. We specifically asked them only to clean 2 rooms on the second floor in order to allow for most of the time on the 1st floor. Once they "timer" was up, they simply left. When we tried calling to resolve the issue, our concern was met with deaf ears and rudeness. Most of the cleaners speak little English and are of Eastern block descent and rather ruff around the edges. One of our bedposts was broken and left in a dresser drawer without any mention to us or a note. Again, total denial. Stay away from this company. They are deceitful, pompous and obnoxious.

I booked 2 people for 3 hrs to clean my 3 bed house. dusting , sweaping mopping floors and cleaning 2 bathrooms.
Half-way done job . Was told I didn't have a swiffer so the floors could not be cleaned properly.Still dusty Bathroom tub not cleaned tiled walls still dirty . Mirrors in living room still smudge. No dusting or even wiping of window sills. Basement bathroom not even sweapt bath tub still dirty and when I called in to Anna was interrupted and lectured and accused of not having propper equipment in the 2008 (no swiffer or Vacume to sweap hard wood floors)Why can't they use a broom and mop like everyone else. That is still the cleanest method known. "WORST SERVICE OFF EVER" Anna argues with clients when they call in to complain by saying the workers will never come back to yur house. Was told that my bathroom is old so it could not be cleaned properly . I gave them a $22.00 tip Oh! Anna had the gall to tell me she is not a member of Better business Bereau so I could report her.

I have used Anna's Housekeeping Services on an occasional level (approx. once every 2 months) over the past six/seven years. I have been mostly satisfied with the service provided. $18 an hour is very reasonable compared with the bigger "More Professional" companies. As I am not a regular client I usually have different people come in each time...most of the ladies have been great...very thorough, which is what I was looking for. Anna's is always very willing to accommodate, even last minute requests. This company has worked well for me.

We've been using Anna's Housekeeping for several months now, first at our condo, and then at our house we purchased. We've generally been quite satisfied with their services. Although, there can sometimes be a few communication challenges with the cleaning staff as English is normally not their first language, we have found it not to result in any significant issues. If any special cleaning duties are required, a quick call to the office can put in the request. And, when we have had issues (such as one cleaning staff leaving early and not completing a thorough job), they have resolved the issue with free cleaning hours. We would recommend Anna's Housekeeping for anyone looking for general house cleaning at a reasonable rate.
